Chapter 189, /.

After that, when Liu Zi talked to them again, they became much closer. It seems that strength still trumps everything.

"My idea is for the male voices to dominate, to establish momentum first..."

Liu Zi and several teachers had an in-depth exchange for a morning, and everyone shared their opinions and gained a lot.

They proposed several solutions and plan to find the most perfect version through practice.

"It's almost time, let's call it a day! We can't let Liu Zi work with us on an empty stomach!" Zhu Ziqiang called a halt to everyone's work after Director Zhou's reminder.

The teachers felt embarrassed. When they looked at the time, it was already 12:30. The young girl had been discussing things with them all morning and hadn't even had a sip of water.

They filed out, and Director Zhou was the first to apologize to Liu Zi, saying that the choir teachers had spoken rather harshly.

Liu Zi waved her hand, not angry. Saying a few words wouldn't hurt her, and this was different from the last time.

The Beijing Military Region is located in the capital and gathers the top talents from all over the country. Talented people are generally proud and unwilling to easily submit to anyone, especially Liu Zi, who is still so young.

Liu Zi was asked to stay for a "working meal," which consisted of four dishes and a soup, and tasted quite good.

This was her insistence; she had other things to do in the afternoon and didn't have time to build rapport with these people at the table.

She left after the meal; the area was still in the planning stage, and there wasn't much to see.

Liu Zi drove to the military band, and things progressed much faster there.

Yu Hai was delighted to meet Liu Zi.

"You're back from your field trip! I heard you wrote another piece of music while you were there, and the organizing committee has picked it out for the gala?"

"Your information network is quite impressive; you already knew about it before everyone had even gathered," Liu Zi said with a smile.

"Director Yan came to check on the progress a couple of days ago. He said, 'Otherwise, I'd be so busy every day, how would I have the time?'"

"Busy? Weren't the rehearsals almost finished?" Liu Zi asked, puzzled.

"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask!" Yu Hai glared.

"Hmph! Who wants to know? Didn't you say so yourself?" Liu Zi sat down on the sofa.

Just as Yu Hai was about to say something sarcastic to the girl again, the phone in the room suddenly rang.

Yu Hai picked up the phone, and before he knew what the other person was saying, he glanced at Liu Zi.

"She's here; she just arrived."

...

"Okay, I'll tell her to wait a bit!"

...

"good!"

Yu Hai's expression turned serious, which puzzled Liu Zi. What had happened?

"Where did you just go?" Yu Hai asked after hanging up the phone.

"The Beijing City Choir!"

"Didn't you go anywhere else?" Yu Hai pressed.

"No! I've been there all day! What happened?" Liu Zi sat up straight, sensing that something was wrong.

"Just wait! Someone will come looking for you soon." Yu Hai shook his head at her, looking at her with a sense of her disappointment.

Liu Zi didn't have to wait long before the band leader, Li, walked in with two men in civilian clothes.

"Excuse me, are you Ms. Liu Zi?"

"I am, and who are you?" Liu Zi didn't recognize them.

"We're from the security department, and we'd like to ask you about something."

Upon hearing the explanation, Liu Zi's eyes widened. Why were they looking for her?

"Commander Li, could we use this space? We need to speak with Miss Liu about something."

"Alright, let's leave it here! Lao Yu, let's go out first." Commander Li and Yu Hai went out first.

Liu Zi breathed a sigh of relief. She had impeccable political background and hadn't done anything to harm the country, so there was nothing to be afraid of!

The two sat down on the sofa, and Liu Zi looked at the other person with an open and honest gaze.

"Ms. Liu, we'd like to know what you did yesterday, and who you met?"

Liu Zi was taken aback, then suddenly understood.

"Yesterday, people from Yi An Records came all the way from Taiwan to buy songs from me. There were four of them in total. My studio manager, Mr. Wang, and I met with them."

"Have you seen them before?" the security officer asked.

"I don't know them personally, but they were introduced by an acquaintance. It's Zhang Shaohan from Taiwan; I've worked with her before."

The safety officer kept making notes in his notebook.

"How did the talks go? Did you have any cash transactions yesterday?" the security officer asked sternly.

"No!" Liu Zi immediately denied. Luckily, she hadn't sold any yesterday, or things would have been complicated.

"Why not? You've worked together before, this shouldn't be difficult to accomplish." The safety officer's gaze was cold and sharp, as if accusing her of lying.

"No, really! I always have contracts for selling songs, and my studio keeps records. You can check my studio anytime." Liu Zi emphasized that what she said was true.

"May I ask why it wasn't sold?" the safety officer asked Liu Zi.

Liu Zi said somewhat resentfully, "That bastard Manager Xu said we were unsophisticated! I couldn't stand it, so..."

The two safety officers exchanged a glance, not quite understanding.

"What's the meaning?"

"He said our clothes weren't nice, not stylish, and were tacky." Liu Zi was indignant and raised her voice. It wasn't a good thing anyway, so why keep asking?

The two safety officers coughed awkwardly twice.

"Then why did you go to the Beijing Military Region Cultural Troupe today?" The security officer already knew Liu Zi's itinerary.

"I didn't want to go. I wanted to join the choir. Director Zhou dragged me to the performing arts troupe, insisting that I give him my opinions. They've already passed the review, what opinions can I give?" Liu Zi was a little annoyed, and her tone was even more impatient.

The safety officer softened his tone and reiterated their position.

"Foreign forces are actively infiltrating the country. As the composer of two important pieces for National Day, we hope that Ms. Liu and her family will not leave the country before National Day."
