Liu Zi thought about it and felt that what he said made sense, so she simply gave up.
Liu Zi, who simply nodded in agreement, did not see the fleeting smile on Li Mu's lips.
Xu Da stared wide-eyed at the two walking out hand in hand, while Xu Er grinned foolishly.
"Remember to call her sister-in-law!" Li Mu said, then forcefully pulled the person away.
"Slow down, I'm wearing high heels!" Liu Zi almost twisted her ankle.
"Don't wear them next time. These shoes are so high, your feet must be uncomfortable." Li Mu frowned, hesitating whether to carry her.
Today, Liu Zi is wearing a pair of sheepskin high boots with heels that are about five centimeters high. The boots tightly wrap around her calves, making her look both fashionable and warm.
"Aren't these shoes nice? And just now, if you hadn't pulled me, I wouldn't have fallen." Liu Zi spoke the truth.
Li Mu coughed lightly. He glanced down at Liu Zi's calves; the lines were quite beautiful, and she was indeed dressed very nicely.
It's all his fault for being so used to walking alone that he forgot to consider her.
"This is the first time, I'll definitely be more careful next time."
"You know you were wrong and can correct it, I forgive you." Liu Zi raised her chin slightly.
Seeing her smug little expression, Li Mu couldn't resist reaching out and flicking her nose.
"Pretty cheeky!"
Liu Zi suddenly felt like she was being treated like a child, which was actually quite nice.
Li Mu's private room at Yunxing Hotel.
There were only Li Mu and Liu Zi in the large private room, and Liu Zi felt a little uncomfortable.
Li Mu sat next to her, holding a menu in his hand and introducing it to her.
The waitress standing nearby stared wide-eyed; this was the first time she had ever seen the general manager treat someone so well.
Liu Zi reached down and pinched his thigh.
Li Mu hissed.
He waved his hand, signaling the waiter to leave first.
After everyone left, Li Mu immediately grabbed the hand that had been causing trouble.
"What are you doing?" Liu Zi couldn't pull her back and felt a little guilty, as she seemed to have used no force at all.
"It hurts a bit, it's making a mess, let it rub it." Li Mu grabbed the soft pancreas and pressed it against his thigh, massaging it.
A blush rose on Liu Zi's face. This scoundrel had lost his usual seriousness and become more frivolous, just like... just like when he drank too much that night in Hong Kong.
"Are you shy?"
"Who's shy? I'm hungry, am I going to eat or not!" This perfectly describes Liu Zi's anger and embarrassment.
"Eat, eat, eat! I can't let my girlfriend go hungry. What if she runs away from hunger? Where will I go to cry then?" Li Mu grabbed Liu Zi's delicate little hand and they looked at the recipe together.
Liu Zi tried to pull him back a couple of times but couldn't, so she just let him be.
When the waiter came in to take orders again, she felt that the atmosphere inside was very different from when the general manager brought people to eat before, but she couldn't quite put her finger on why.
Mr. Li had eaten with Liu Zi a few times and knew what she liked to eat, so he ordered the dishes directly.
"Why did you order so much? There's not enough for just the two of us. Why don't you call Xu Da and Xu Er over to eat with us?" Liu Zi said reproachfully after the waiter left.
"It's okay, if we can't finish it, I'll pack it up and take it back to them. We won't let them bother us for now." Li Mu refused to let the two third wheels come over.
Liu Zi covered her mouth and chuckled. She hadn't expected Li Mu to be like this when he was in love, like... like an old house on fire.
To be honest, Liu Zi didn't want to lie about how much she felt for him. The two of them hadn't spent enough time together, so at most she had a little bit of affection for him. As for what would happen in the future, she couldn't say for sure.
But looking at it now, it feels pretty good.
After dinner, Liu Zi told Li Mu to go back to work, and that she also had to go home.
After being away on business for so many days, she started to miss her two children.
Li Mu was somewhat reluctant to part with her, but he still drove her home.
Liu Zi's luggage had already been returned by Zheng Dong, and she had only just arrived home. Aunt Zhang was still worried about her!
"Is everything alright? Zheng Dong said you were hurriedly taken away from the airport, and you didn't look well at the time."
"It's nothing, there was just some trouble at the tech company that I needed to deal with, so I rushed back from Anshi." Liu Zi made up a lie, since Li Mu had caused such a commotion back then.
"It's good that you're alright, it's good that you're alright. Have you eaten? I'll make you something to eat." Aunt Zhang breathed a sigh of relief.
"Auntie, you don't need to bother. I've already eaten. Where are the two children?" Liu Zi walked around the room.
"It's not Sunday today, so of course everyone's at school. Lingzi came back with her classmates, and Qiqi won't be picked up for another two hours." Aunt Zhang glanced at the clock on the wall.
Liu Zi patted her forehead; how could she have forgotten about this?
Lingzi is now in the early childhood education class, and Qiqi has also gone to kindergarten. Both children are busy with their own things.
"Oh, right, the other day, Officer Xu from the neighborhood committee came to our house looking for you. He said you should come over when you have time. The area where we used to live is going to be demolished again, and he wanted to discuss it with the families who are still living there." Aunt Zhang suddenly remembered this.
"Okay, I'll go ask her later." Liu Zi gave a delicate yawn.
"Go back and get some sleep! Zheng Dong said you got up early to catch the plane, you must be tired. I'll pick up the kids, you'll see them at dinner tonight." Aunt Zhang saw that her eyelids were almost drooping and immediately told her to hurry up.
After thinking for a moment, Liu Zi decided that since her daughter wasn't there, she should go and get some sleep so she could be more energetic.
Liu Zi hasn't left the house for the past two days, spending her days picking up and dropping off her two children to try and mend their almost broken mother-daughter relationship.
The two children were very surprised that she left on a business trip without even saying goodbye. They were very angry, and the consequences were serious.
Liu Zi felt a little guilty. She had run away secretly and hadn't been able to think about these things. Fortunately, she brought back a lot of gifts from Anshi, which made the two children feel a bit more at ease.
The two children unanimously decided that Liu Zi would have to pick them up and drop them off for two days.
Liu Zi readily agreed.
With Chinese New Year just a month away, Song Yan's Delicious Braised Food Shop has already opened its fourth branch.
When Liu Zi came to find her, the shop was still incredibly busy!
Liu Zi frowned. Why was Song Yan making her look like a laborer, so busy, yet she didn't look well?
"Zizi, you're here! Come in and have a seat." Song Yan's eyes lit up; she hadn't seen Liu Zi for quite some time.
After dismissing everyone around her, Song Yan personally led Liu Zi to the back room where she could rest and even poured her some water.
"What's wrong? You look terrible." Liu Zi asked with concern.
"I've probably been quite busy lately, and I'm a bit tired," Song Yan forced a smile.
"Take it easy. You can never earn all the money in the world. Don't ruin your health," Liu Zi advised.
"Where's my brother-in-law? I don't see him." Liu Zi asked, looking around.
Song Yan's expression darkened further when Shi Jianjun was mentioned.
"What happened?"
