Liu Zi understood as soon as she saw the person who came; the special forces team really didn't want her to come. Since that was the case, there was nothing more to say.
"Officer Zhu, it's getting late, I'll head back now." After saying that, Liu Zi shifted gears and prepared to reverse and leave.
"Miss Liu, please wait a moment, there's been a misunderstanding." Officer Zhu ignored Company Commander Qi and quickly approached to plead for leniency.
Seeing that the other party didn't even acknowledge him, Company Commander Qi immediately waved his hand, and the armed soldiers on the sentry post immediately surrounded the vehicle.
Liu Zi's face turned even paler with anger.
"What? You want to kidnap ordinary civilians? Do you want to go to a military court?"
"Miss Liu, how can you say that? We just wanted to invite you to the brigade for a visit. Look, you haven't even had a sip of tea, and you're already thinking of leaving. When you get back to the military region, you'll blame our brigade for not being hospitable enough," Company Commander Zhu explained with a smile.
"I just want to leave now, Officer Zhu. Is this how you treat your guests?" Liu Zi didn't generalize; in her heart, soldiers still held a high position.
She didn't want to talk to this soldier right now, so she turned to face Zhu, who looked embarrassed.
Fearing further trouble, Officer Zhu quickly told them to step back.
That's why they call it a special forces unit!
Heaven is number one, Earth is number two; ordinary people really can't shout that.
Zhu shouted until his mouth was dry, but no one listened to him.
Liu Zi was furious. Since that's how it is, then she wouldn't be so sure as to make a big scene.
She had already done her research before coming. The special forces brigade is a regimental-level unit, and this Company Commander Zhu should have some superiors above him.
Liu Zi turned off the car, pressed the lock button on the remote key, and then turned the steering wheel.
Instantly, the alarm blared through the sky, startling even the birds in the surrounding trees into flying away.
"Open the door!" Company Commander Qi reacted quickly and immediately knocked on Liu Zi's car door.
Liu Zi threw the remote key into the pile of clutter behind her car, opened the door, and got out.
"You!" Company Commander Qi pointed at Liu Zi.
"Find them yourselves! My personal clothes are all in the back seat. If you're so capable, shake them all out." Liu Zi's voice was not low, and with the sound of the alarm, the surrounding soldiers all froze on the spot.
Company Commander Qi was also in a dilemma. Liu Zi was not a criminal, and she did not have any contraband on her. If they forcibly searched her, it would have a big impact.
Company Commander Qi wasn't stupid. Routine vehicle checks, though a bit excessive, were still somewhat justifiable, and he might only get a few scoldings at most. But if he were to expose someone's private belongings, it wouldn't be something that could be explained away in a few words, and he might even face disciplinary action.
Thinking of this, Company Commander Qi pushed Liu Zi aside, opened the hood of the vehicle, took a closer look, and unplugged the wire connected to the horn.
These special forces soldiers are incredibly talented; even their car repair skills are top-notch.
Liu Zi wasn't angry. She had heard most of the noise from earlier, and if they continued to pretend to be playing games, she wouldn't mind playing along.
Just as she expected, the phone at the sentry post rang shortly afterward. After being called to answer the call, Company Commander Qi returned with a livid face.
"Miss Liu, you may go up now."
"Oh!"
Liu Zi didn't say much. She opened the back door, found the key, and got into the car.
Just as Officer Zhu breathed a sigh of relief and was about to get in the car and head to the camp, Liu Zi's car drove down the mountain.
"What happened?" Officer Zhu was so shocked he could hardly speak.
Company Commander Qi's eyes narrowed, and he turned around, got into his car, and chased after Liu Zi.
The two vehicles were positioned one after the other. After Qi Lianchang caught up, he quickly overtook the other vehicle and intercepted Liu Jing's vehicle.
He then got out of the car aggressively and knocked on Liu Zi's driver's side window.
Liu Zi didn't want to talk to him, but the other person was getting stronger and stronger. Fearing that she would have to fix the glass after going down the mountain, she simply lowered the car window a little.
"I told you you can go up the mountain, don't you know the way?" Company Commander Qi's voice was loud, almost deafening.
"If you're not going, I'm going down the mountain." Liu Zi was startled; her impression of this person had plummeted to rock bottom.
"You think you can just quit like that? What do you take this place for?" Company Commander Qi was furious. Thinking of the political commissar's words to him, he felt that if he didn't bring Liu Zi back, he would probably be put in solitary confinement.
"What, you want to restrict my personal freedom? Do you think you're a bandit or a mountain king?" Liu Zi sneered.
"I am an officer of the Special Forces Brigade. I am ordering you to turn back immediately, or you can forget about ever coming back to the Special Forces Brigade again," Company Commander Qi said threateningly.
"I'm not your soldier, why should I take your orders? Do you think I care about this lousy place of yours!" Liu Zi tried hard to restrain herself from cursing, not because she was afraid of this person, but out of respect for the military uniform.
Just as the two were at an impasse, another car drove down the mountain. Upon seeing them, the people in the car immediately stopped.
Two people then got out of the car. One was Officer Zhu, and the other was someone Liu Zi had never seen before.
Company Commander Qi's eyes sharpened, and he immediately turned around and ran over to salute.
"Greetings, Political Commissar!"
"I'll deal with you later!" the political commissar cursed, then walked over to Liu Zi with a smile.
"Miss Liu, hello. I'm the political commissar of the special forces unit. Please forgive me for not greeting you properly after such a long journey!"
Liu Zi did not get out of the car; the car window remained at the original height.
"Can I come down the mountain now? Are you special forces going to kidnap me?" Liu Zi asked expressionlessly.
"Miss Liu, what makes you say that? How could we kidnap you? We are a regular national military unit here," Political Commissar Xu said with a forced smile.
