Chapter 189, /.

When I got home, there was still a long line of people outside the fruit drink shop.

Dessert sales have been excellent lately.

Liu Zi redraws the design and orders a new gift box that includes all four types of Western desserts from the store.

However, these gift boxes need to be pre-ordered, with a maximum of 200 boxes per day. After paying a deposit, you can pick them up the next day.

At first, Aunt Zhang thought that this product probably wouldn't sell very well, since the price was a bit high and a deposit had to be paid in advance.

But she once again underestimated the spending power of Beijing residents. When people give gifts during the Spring Festival, who doesn't want to give a gift that shows their family's uniqueness?

Fearing scalpers, Liu Zi limited the purchase of gift boxes to two per person per day.

Although everyone complained, they accepted it for the sake of fairness.

When Liu Zi entered the room, she saw her parents and Aunt Zhang chatting and working in the control room.

Freshly baked cake bases were drying on the steel frame in the yard, emitting a wonderful aroma.

At the insistence of the three elders, Liu Zi only needed to prepare the recipe each day, and the rest of the work was arranged by the three of them in turns.

Liu Zi was worried that the three of them would be too tired, so she insisted on finding temporary workers to help. If they didn't agree, she wouldn't sell the gift boxes.

In the end, Liu Zi broke through the 'power' and won, and the three temporary female workers worked half a day each day.

"Zizi, you're back?" Liu's mother, Xu Mei, was the first to see her daughter.

"Where are Qiqi and Lingzi?" Liu Zi looked around for her daughter.

"The place next door opens tomorrow, and Da Shan and Xiao Shan came over to play. They went to see their brother," Aunt Zhang said, pointing to the place next door.

"Huh? Sister Yan and the others finally arrived?" Liu Zi was surprised. She had called them before, but the shop there was too busy and they couldn't spare any people to come.

"Yes, they brought over a whole truckload of stuff, and they're probably still packing it up!" Aunt Zhang was very skillful; she quickly and easily attached the pastry to the mold.

"Then I'll go take a look first." Liu Zi parked her motorcycle, turned around, and went out the door.

Sister Yan's shop is open, and Zhu Zi is cleaning inside.

He greeted Liu Zi with a smile as she approached.

"Where's Sister Yan?"

"My sister-in-law is packing things up in the back!" Zhu Zi pointed in a direction.

"Okay, I understand."

Liu Zi walked through the store lobby and into the backyard, where four children were looking at something in a corner of the yard.

Liu Zi ignored it and peeked into the side room.

Song Yan was wiping the stove while wearing a dusty gray outfit.

"Why didn't you give me a heads-up beforehand so I could come and help?" Liu Zi suddenly said, startling Song Yan.

Song Yan clutched her chest, turned around, and glared at the little girl. Why was she so quiet?

Liu Zi playfully raised an eyebrow at her.

"What can I do to help? I'm just cleaning up here. You're the one who needs help! There are so many people in line; I was shocked when I saw it."

"It's all sorted out. People come to help every afternoon. It looks crowded, but actually many people are just buying gift boxes, which can be pre-packaged." Liu Zi also took a rag and started wiping with Song Yan.

"A gift box?" Song Yan was taken aback.

"Yes! For Chinese New Year gifts, a nice-looking gift box is good."

"How come I didn't think of that!" Song Yan suddenly realized.

"People in Songzhuang don't do this. It's only recently become popular in Beijing. Before, they used to tie it up with oiled paper."

Do you know any factories that make these kinds of packaging boxes?

"Yes, I'll call you in a bit. Tell Brother Song to go check it out when he has time." The small factory that Liu Zi works with is quite reliable.

"What? You're free? I have to go now, I can't let tomorrow's business suffer." Song Yan rushed outside to make a phone call.

Liu Zi followed helplessly. She hadn't even told her on the phone yet; this was too much of a rush!

At noon, Liu Zi ordered food at a nearby restaurant and invited Song Yan and the others to have a simple meal together.

After the meal, everyone went about their own business.

Liu Zi went upstairs, removed all the buttons from her newly bought suit, and then re-stitched on the silver buttons she had bought. She also pinned the newly bought jade brooch to her chest.

After a series of adjustments, the entire garment was transformed, appearing exceptionally luxurious.

Liu Zi nodded in satisfaction; it was just as good as the custom-made clothes she had worn back then.

Before Liu's parents left, Liu Zi took the gifts she had bought and went downstairs.

Liu's mother, Aunt Zhang, and even Lingzi and Qiqi each had a box.

Liu's mother opened her box first, and the distinct pearls almost blinded her.

"This...this...is it real?"

Liu Zi rolled her eyes. What was her mother saying? Did she think she could make up a fake one to fool her?

Liu's mother was so excited that she realized her words were somewhat wrong as soon as they left her mouth, and quickly tried to correct herself.

"It's definitely going to be expensive. You still have a loan, so you should prioritize paying it off first!"

Although Liu's mother said that, she touched the pearl with her hand, looking very fond of it.

Liu Zi gave her father a look that said, "Your chance to shine has come."

Liu Daqiang quickly stepped forward and said to his wife, "Your daughter bought it for you, so just wear it. Why say so much?"

Liu Zi sighed, her father was still so bad at speaking; it would have been better if he hadn't said anything at all.

"Mom, this can't be returned. Try it on and see if it fits," Liu Zi interjected.

Liu's mother glared at Liu Daqiang; this man couldn't even speak properly.

Liu Daqiang's status in the family has plummeted, but he is happy with it. This relaxed family atmosphere is what he had always hoped for, but he didn't do it well enough back then.
