After her identity was verified at the entrance, Liu Zi entered the conference room.
The conference room was large and crowded, almost full. Looking around, only the first three rows had some empty seats.
Liu Zi exclaimed that she had never known that China had so many composers.
Just as she was about to find a seat, she saw someone hurriedly go up to the front of the stage.
Is Miss Liu Zi here? Is Liu Zi here?
The people in the meeting room stopped because of this unexpected turn of events and looked around, wondering who they were looking for.
Liu Zi looked up in surprise. What happened?
Although she didn't know why, she obediently raised her hand.
The person on stage looked around and finally spotted Liu Zi in a corner.
She put down the microphone and rushed over.
"I'm so sorry, Ms. Liu, we made a mistake and led you to the wrong place." The staff member was almost in tears.
"Huh?" Liu Zi was surprised. Had she gone to the wrong place?
What a ridiculous situation!
"Please come with me quickly! The meeting over there has already started and they're just waiting for you." The staff member spoke rapidly.
Liu Zi didn't linger any longer, picked up her bag, and followed the other person out the door.
It turned out that when Liu Zi entered the gate, she happened to run into several participating groups that had passed the preliminary selection. The staff thought they were together, so they led them all to the west conference room.
"Teacher Yu Hai saw your registration at the gate, and that's how we knew you were here. You didn't answer our calls, so we had to come to the meeting room here to look for you. Luckily, you were here." The staff member looked relieved.
Liu Zi took out her phone and checked it. There really was a missed call. She had muted her phone before entering the meeting room, afraid of disturbing everyone. She never expected something like this to happen.
"Ms. Liu, I'm so sorry, this misunderstanding was caused by our mistake at work." The staff member apologized repeatedly.
Liu Zi raised her hand to check her watch. She was already 20 minutes late. No matter the reason, in the entertainment industry, such behavior would be considered diva-like, especially since she had just created several songs that were quite popular.
"I hope your TV station can help explain this. My lateness wasn't my fault." Liu Zi had already written down the reason for her visit when registering at the gate. What could she do if someone gave her the wrong information?
"Definitely, definitely!" the staff member said with a bitter face.
After passing through the entire building and turning a corner, Liu Zi finally arrived at her destination: the East District Conference Room.
Compared to the noisy environment on the west side, the east conference room was much quieter. The door was now closed, and the staff member took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
Liu Zi was amused by the little girl's actions. Was she about to enter some kind of hell on earth?
"We apologize for disturbing everyone. Ms. Liu Zi has arrived. We sincerely apologize for the delay caused to the leaders due to our mistake." The staff member stood at the door and bowed to the people inside to apologize.
"You've worked hard, you should go back and rest!" A middle-aged man's voice came from inside the door.
"Thank you!" the staff member said again, then turned to the side and gestured for Liu Zi, who was outside the door, to enter.
Liu Zi nodded, then stepped into the conference room.
There weren't many people in the conference room, maybe twenty or thirty!
Liu Zi nodded to everyone: "I'm sorry I'm late."
The clear female voice startled everyone; it was Yun Zi.
Yun Zi, the recently popular lyricist and composer?
So young?
"Please have a seat! We'll have a meeting first. I'll talk to you privately after the meeting if you don't understand something," said Director Zhao, who was standing at the front.
Liu Zi nodded and, under everyone's gaze, walked to the last row and found a seat.
Director Zhao continued, "The preparatory group is referring to..."
While Director Zhao was speaking eloquently on stage, Liu Zi began to subtly observe her surroundings.
The group was clearly divided into several groups: some were wearing military uniforms; some were wearing crisp white shirts; and some, like her, were people who could wear anything.
However, most of them were quite old, and Liu Zi looked around and realized that it wouldn't be easy to find someone younger than her.
Judging from the scale of this meeting, Liu Zi saw Professor Yu Hai, Professor Peng Xiuwen, and Professor Zhang Lie in the front row. These people are still big names even at this time.
In particular, Ms. Yu Hai had been looking for a composer who was more knowledgeable about military music to recreate "The March of the Torrent" together.
Knowing that the other person had just spoken up for her, Liu Zi thought she would borrow some money later to strike up a conversation with them.
"Miss Liu Zi, is there anything I can help you with?"
Director Zhao had just noticed Liu Zi looking around, searching for something.
To be honest, he didn't understand why CCTV invited him over. Just because someone wrote a few melodramatic pop songs doesn't mean they can be called a lyricist and composer.
Liu Zi sensed a strong dissatisfaction in the other person's words. She raised an eyebrow. Did this Director Zhao have a problem with her?
"I'm fine. Wasn't it Director Zhao who was talking about this?" Liu Zi didn't hold back at all; she didn't owe him anything.
Director Zhao frowned unhappily: "Some people shouldn't think that by finding connections to attend this meeting, they can use it as an opportunity to climb the social ladder and enhance their reputation. This isn't a place where the entertainment industry is vying for power."
"Is Director Zhao talking to me?" Liu Zi retorted directly.
"I hope you can investigate this thoroughly. I didn't use any connections to get into your class; I'm not just killing time."
"Besides, I'm quite popular now, and many people are asking me to write songs for them. I don't need to find someone else to boost my reputation."
"Then what were you looking around for?" Director Zhao was a little embarrassed. He didn't expect Liu Zi to be so bold as to dare to talk back to him in front of so many masters.
"I'm looking for where Teacher Yu Hai is sitting. I need to find someone to thank later! If it weren't for him, I think I would have been accused of being arrogant." Liu Zi is now starting to wonder if she has just fallen into someone's trap.
Yu Hai was surprised; how did this bring up him?
"Alright, everyone, shut up. Old Zhao, aren't you ashamed to argue with a young girl? Just get the gist of the document; everyone understands what's going on," Wang Qingquan said impatiently.
Everyone's busy, who has time to listen to them arguing?
Liu Zi felt it was pointless. Since the other party didn't think much of her, she wouldn't be valued even if she submitted the piece, so she might as well go home early.
She packed the things on the table into her bag and stood up.
"I'm sorry to bother you all, I'll be leaving now."
After saying that, he turned around and walked out, causing a stir among the audience. Why was he leaving so suddenly?
Before Liu Zi could even grasp the doorknob, the conference room door opened by itself.
"Hey, why are you standing here? Is the meeting over?" Yan Shuxiang, deputy head of the National Day preparation group, asked curiously.
"I've already taken up too much of the teachers' time since the meeting isn't over, so I think it's best to leave now," Liu Zi said humbly.
"We invited everyone here so that we could brainstorm ideas, how could we waste time? Come, come, don't leave yet," Yan Zu persuaded.
