Chapter 115 Re-forging

In the morning, Hua Kai accompanied Zhang Miao to the morning market again. Anyway, she likes to get up early to exercise, and going to buy groceries is also a form of exercise.

This morning, the teachers mostly went over the test papers. The English teacher even asked Huakai to share her experience in learning English. Huakai could only say things like read more and have more conversations. Was she supposed to say that she had a photographic memory? Or that she learned it in a past life?

When school ended at noon, Hua Kai packed her schoolbag and ran to the school gate, eagerly anticipating seeing Ye Yifan, knowing he was coming.

She had just run to the front gate when Guan Rui stopped her: "Hua Kai, I have something to tell you."

Hua Kai guessed what Guan Rui was going to say, so she could only follow Guan Rui to a less crowded place: "Are you talking about Lu Xue?"

Guan Rui took a deep breath and then nodded: "Did Lu Xue hire someone to injure you?"

Hua Kai did not deny it: "Yes, I called the police, and it was all done through normal legal procedures."

Guan Rui looked at Hua Kai with concern: "Lu Xue deserved what she got. I just feel sorry for you. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been in danger."

"You can't blame it all on me. After all, I've made enemies in class too, so I have my share of the problems," Hua Kai said objectively.

"No, Lu Xue's situation is my fault, Hua Kai. I'm so sorry. I didn't handle Lu Xue's situation well. If you get hurt, I will blame myself for the rest of my life." Guan Rui's eyes were already red.

Hua Kai said, "Now that it's over, relax. I have something to do, so I'll be going now. Bye-bye."

As she spoke, she looked towards the spot where Ye Yifan liked to park. Gu Xiaoxue was already there talking to Ye Yifan, so she quickly ran over as well.

Seeing Hua Kai's expression as she ran towards Ye Yifan and the others, Guan Rui felt even colder, realizing how far he and Hua Kai were from each other.

Ye Yifan smiled when he saw Hua Kai: "You did so well on the midterm exams, you deserve a reward." He then took a box from the car and handed it to Hua Kai.

Hua Kai took the box and was surprised after looking at it: "A Walkman? Made in Hong Kong?" She had never seen such a small Walkman in the department stores in the city. Electronic products were not as advanced back then, so this was really a rare item.

Gu Xiaoxue pouted: "Brother Fan, you're being a bit biased."

Ye Yifan said to Gu Xiaoxue, "Hua Kai needs to learn English. What, do you want to go back to school and retake the college entrance exam?"

Gu Xiaoxue quickly waved her hand: "No need, no need, I don't like learning English."

Hua Kai smiled at Gu Xiaoxue: "Don't worry, I'm not a fool. You've helped me so much. In the future, when I make money, I'll take you with me whenever I have the chance. Don't worry, we're both people who value integrity."

Gu Xiaoxue was delighted this time: "Flowers are in bloom. Let's go eat, it's on me."

As they spoke, the three of them got into the car and went to a Korean restaurant with a unique character. There are many ethnic minorities around Changyuan City, including Hui, Korean, and Manchu, so the restaurants there are quite distinctive.

After ordering the food, Hua Kai looked at Ye Yifan and Gu Xiaoxue and asked, "Do you think I can skip a grade? People in rural areas start school late, and I'll be eighteen after the New Year. I don't want to waste time. You've seen my learning ability, so I think skipping a grade shouldn't be a problem. Also, I don't want to go to a top university like Beijing. I want to go to the provincial science and technology university to study architectural design. So I think I should be able to do it now."

After she finished speaking, Ye Yifan replied without hesitation, "I think it's fine. You don't have much time to study, and with this score, you really don't need to waste another year." He then looked at Gu Xiaoxue and asked, "You understand this, are the procedures easy to handle?"

Gu Xiaoxue nodded and said, "It's easy. As long as she can pass the school's test, the procedures are easy."

Ye Yifan looked at the blooming flowers: "Skipping grades and doing business, won't it be very hard for you?"

Hua Kai shook her head: "No, I will arrange my time with Li. Besides, studying is really not that difficult for me. As long as I listen carefully in class, I can basically understand it."

"That's good. You have a reasonable plan for your future, so your choice should be the most suitable for you. That's fine." Ye Yifan had great trust in Hua Kai's abilities.

"I don't know much about factory matters, so you'll have to put in more effort. But I'm fine with design and sales promotion," Hua Kai said to Ye Yifan.

Gu Xiaoxue watched the two talking, fiddling with her water glass. She used to think she was much more naive than Ye Yifan, but now she felt like she was even worse than her student. Why did all these outstanding people come in groups? It was too much.

Soon after, the waiter came in to serve the food, and they started talking about some of the customs and food of the Korean people.

Gu Xiaoxue was quite qualified to speak on the topic of food, so he had a lot to say about it this time.

After finishing her meal, Hua Kai took her Walkman back to school, planning to buy a few cassette tapes at the department store when she had time.

Hua Kai studied even more diligently in the afternoon because she was going to skip a grade, so she had to make good use of every class period.

After school in the evening, Zhang Miao's business was still pretty good; she sold out everything she had prepared. She was also paying more attention in class now because she knew better than anyone how hard-won her education was.

After evening self-study, I returned to the dormitory and found that Zhou Xinrui had moved all her things away, leaving the empty bed looking rather out of place.

However, it was a good opportunity to put the boxes under everyone's beds on top, and this commotion made things lively again.

Wang Lingling looked visibly unwell today; her eyes were red and swollen, suggesting she had been crying. However, since they weren't particularly close friends with her, no one asked further, which was a sign of respect for her.

But the more people ignored her, the more scared she became.
