Chapter 11 Tian Xiaomeng's Tea Ceremony

Upon arriving at the wholesale market, Jiang Xiaoli's goal was clear.

She found a shop, touched the paper of each notebook, chose a large notebook with a smooth surface that wouldn't bleed ink, and started bargaining with the owner.

"How much would it cost if I wanted 50 of these notebooks?"

Jiang Xiaoli was very skilled at selecting items and asking prices. If it weren't for her young age, the shop owner would have really thought she was a small stationery store owner.

"I'll give you 25 cents a book for 50 books," the shopkeeper casually quoted.

Xiao Muyu and Tian Xiaomeng were both quite satisfied; the stationery store near the school gate only sold it for 30 cents!

Jiang Xiaoli was about to turn around and leave as soon as she heard that.

Seeing that she was leaving without even haggling over the price, the shopkeeper quickly called out to her, "Young lady, young lady, the profit margin for wholesale is low. Just buy 50 books, 25 cents is fine!"

Jiang Xiaoli complained, "Boss, you don't remember me, do you? Last time I came to your store with my uncle to buy goods, you clearly charged my uncle 15 cents and told him that it would be cheaper if he bought goods regularly. How come it's so much more expensive when I come alone?"

The wholesale store owner was taken aback by her words. She didn't recognize the girl at all. However, the price the girl quoted was the same as the price her major customers paid. Could it be that her memory was getting worse?

She quickly forced a smile, "Oh dear, I've been so busy lately, look at my memory! I'll definitely give you the original price when you come back as a regular customer! I'm so sorry, I'll pack it up for you right now, 50 books, right?"

Jiang Xiaoli cast an inquiring look at Xiao Muyu and Tian Xiaomeng, and Xiao Muyu quickly said, "I want 50 books too!"

Besides the five yuan Tian Yuzhen had given her, Tian Xiaomeng also had a few yuan of pocket money she had saved up for a long time. She gritted her teeth and said, "I want 30 books too!"

Jiang Xiaoli turned to the shopkeeper and greeted him, "Boss! 130 books in total!"

Seeing that dozens more notebooks had appeared in an instant, the shopkeeper's previously gloomy mood improved considerably. "Alright, here you go, these are the notebooks you wanted. Each pack contains ten notebooks, so this is 13 packs."

Jiang Xiaoli picked up the five packets and counted them one by one to see if any were missing. After confirming that they were all there, she took out a handful of change from her pocket and counted out 7.5 yuan.

Xiao Muyu counted the money like she did, then took out a ten-yuan note from her small handbag and handed it to Jiang Xiaoli, saying, "You can use this to pay for the rest of the bill."

Tian Xiaomeng was shocked to see Jiang Xiaoli pull out a wad of cash. It looked like she would have at least a dozen yuan left after buying the notebook!

She immediately felt envious. "Xiao Li, your mom gave you so much money! That's great. My mom only gave me five yuan. Can you lend me some?"

Jiang Xiaoli silently rolled her eyes. This person was a typical example of someone who couldn't get enough of a bargain. She wanted 30 books, so five yuan wasn't enough to buy them!

"Ah~ Auntie only gave you five yuan. If you buy the notebooks, you won't be able to buy anything else. Why don't you buy 20 notebooks first and then buy more when you run out?" Jiang Xiaoli kindly suggested, completely ignoring her offer to borrow money.

Seeing that Jiang Xiaoli didn't respond, Tian Xiaomeng turned her gaze to Xiao Muyu, only to find that Xiao Muyu was captivated by the kitten at the entrance of the stationery store and was playing with it!

Having no other choice, she had to take out her own pocket money and reluctantly hand over 4.5 yuan to Jiang Xiaoli.

Jiang Xiaoli paid the bill for the shopkeeper, then turned around and gave 2.5 yuan to Xiao Muyu, saying, "Here, this is your change, take it!"

As she spoke, she gave Xiao Muyu a wink, telling her to be careful and not to lend money to Tian Xiaomeng.

After buying the notebooks, Xiao Muyu disliked the pens in this store, so they carried the notebooks to other stores to look around.

As Xiao Muyu stepped out of the store, she finally couldn't hold back any longer, "You actually know the uncle who owns the stationery store?"

Tian Xiaomeng was also very curious. She knew Jiang Xiaoli very well, so how come she had never heard of her having such an uncle?

Jiang Xiaoli was stunned for a moment, but quickly realized, "I only know Uncle Xiao, who is in business."

Xiao Muyu's eyes widened. How could this be?! "Then what were you talking nonsense about just now?"

Jiang Xiaoli denied it, "How can this be called nonsense? Look, she agreed immediately, which means the price I quoted was reasonable!"

However, her image as someone who talks nonsense was already deeply ingrained in Xiao Muyu's mind. She wouldn't listen to her explanation at all and secretly decided that she would have to be more careful in the future and not be easily fooled by her!

The three of them went to a shop that specializes in selling pens.

Jiang Xiaoli is quite practical. Her old fountain pen was still usable, so she only bought a new one to replace it. In addition, she also bought a box of pencils and two bottles of dark blue fountain pen ink.

After she finished buying and paying, Xiao Muyu was still unable to tear her eyes away from the row of colorful ballpoint pens.

Seeing her come over, she quickly asked, "Xiao Li, can you help me see which of these pens is the prettiest?"

Jiang Xiaoli saw several ballpoint pens with cartoon patterns printed on them, and her lips twitched. "If you like them, just buy them all."

Tian Xiaomeng spotted a pencil case with a celebrity's picture on it at a nearby counter. Pointing to the pencil case, she asked, "How much is this?"

The shopkeeper had just finished settling Xiao Muyu's bill when he glanced at the item and said, "Young lady, you have good taste! This is really popular right now, 5 yuan each!"

Tian Xiaomeng just bought a notebook and spent 4.5 yuan. The money she has left is all her hard-earned pocket money!

Remembering how Jiang Xiaoli had ignored her earlier, she turned her attention to Xiao Muyu. "Xiaoyu, I didn't bring enough money with me today. Could you lend me a few dollars? I really like this pencil case."

Xiao Muyu wasn't very familiar with her to begin with, and since Jiang Xiaoli had specifically instructed her earlier, she directly declined.

"I'm sorry, Xiaomeng, I suddenly remembered that my mom asked me to buy her some crystal cakes to take home later. I don't have enough money left, so I can't lend it to you."

Jiang Xiaoli secretly gave Xiao Muyu a thumbs up after hearing her words. It seems that the little princess is quite good at lying through her teeth. It's so natural!

Tian Xiaomeng was furious when she saw that none of them were willing to lend her money, even though they clearly still had some. But she pretended not to care.

"It's okay, it's okay. Your mother's matter is important. I'll come back to buy it another day. I just think it's too much trouble to come all this way and take a bus."

The three of them then stopped shopping and decided to go straight home.

When she got to the bus stop, Jiang Xiaoli suddenly remembered that she had to sign a contract with Little Sheep Hot Pot the next day. She told the two of them to wait, and then rushed back to buy a small box of red inkpad before running back again.

Xiao Muyu got off the bus two stops early. She also told Jiang Xiaoli in advance that she would go to her house tomorrow to ask her about signing the contract.

Jiang Xiaoli and Tian Xiaomeng rode the bus for two more stops before getting off. On the way home, Tian Xiaomeng looked very sad.

"Little Pear, did I do something to upset you? You haven't come to play with me lately!"

Jiang Xiaoli thought to herself, "You've done so many things to upset me! Hey! I'm not going to tell you, that little green tea b*tch isn't going to work on me anymore!"
