Chapter 201 The Dispute Begins

Anderson stepped forward and said to Shang Run, "You're the team leader of the Chinese team, right? You should apologize to the students and teachers of the United States on behalf of your students."

Shang Run's face darkened, and he was about to speak when a small hand grabbed his arm.

Jiang Xiaoli stepped forward and looked at the name tag on his chest. "Hello, Mr. Anderson, as the person in charge of the event, I think you can't just listen to one side's perspective when dealing with issues, right?"

Just now, Rebecca, a member of the American team, racially discriminated against me. I'm thinking you can help me resolve this, right?

Anderson glanced at George with displeasure, then smiled and said to Jiang Xiaoli, "My friend, you said you can't just listen to one side of the story. You said Rebecca is racist, do you have any evidence?"

Jiang Xiaoli nodded matter-of-factly, "Of course!"

She picked up a glass and tapped it twice with her fork, and the whole room fell silent, waiting for her to speak.

"Everyone here comes from all over the world, and I think we should all share the same consensus: racial discrimination hinders the spread of civilization between countries. It causes countless people to fight and kill each other and cannot live in harmony. I think it is a great disgrace."

It is now 1995, and the students who are able to participate in the Imam are the future elites of their respective countries. I think we should all have this consensus.

"Just now, this American contestant, Rebecca, called me a yellow-skinned monkey in front of so many people. I am deeply saddened. I hope someone will stand up and testify on my behalf, contributing to the fight against racial discrimination!"

As soon as she finished speaking, a young black man stood up and said, "I can testify! I was just getting food from them. This American contestant insulted the Chinese contestant first, and then she did call them yellow-skinned monkeys."

Once the first person was identified, a second person followed, and soon many people stood up to testify on behalf of Jiang Xiaoli.

Anderson and George looked extremely grim.

Finally, Shang Run spoke up, "Mr. Anderson, things are clear now. Let's talk somewhere quiet so as not to disturb the players' meal. What do you think?"

Anderson immediately nodded, "Alright, alright, come with me."

George, Rebecca, and the others immediately followed him out of the restaurant.

Shang Run told An Ke to go back for dinner, while he followed behind them with Jiang Xiaoli.

He shook his head helplessly, "You're such a troublemaker."

Jiang Xiaoli shrugged. "I didn't want to cause trouble, but trouble came my way."

Shang Run knew it wasn't her fault. What's wrong with a student protecting their own interests? He wasn't the kind of person who would rather wrong his students than let everyone else suffer.

Anderson led the group to a small reception room.

He spoke first, "Tomorrow is the opening ceremony of this year's IMO. I think the most important thing is to achieve good results in this competition. Don't let a small conflict affect your mood for the competition. What do you think?"

Shang Run had already spoken with Jiang Xiaoli, and he said with a smile, "My student never intended to argue with anyone. She's just young and speaks her mind. If she offended any of the American team members, I'll have her apologize to Rebecca. However, I also hope that Rebecca will apologize to my student, after all..."

“We agree!” George immediately interjected, preventing Shang Run from bringing up anything related to racial discrimination again.

To show his sincerity, he first had Rebecca come over and apologize to Jiang Xiaoli.

Rebecca looked furious, but she held back and said, "I'm sorry!"

Jiang Xiaoli didn't care whether her apology was sincere or not. She smiled and said, "I'm sorry, Rebecca, I was just being blunt. I shouldn't have said that you lost your brain while dieting. You have a great figure. I hope you are healthy and happy every day!"

"You!" Rebecca's eyes reddened upon hearing her apology, and she was about to speak when George pulled her back.

Once Anderson saw that the matter was resolved, he immediately slipped away.

When the remaining two groups parted ways, George said to Shang Run with a forced smile, "Mr. Shang, your student is very eloquent. I hope her competition results are as impressive as her words!"

Shang Run smiled and replied, "Mr. George, you'll see soon enough."

Back in the cafeteria, Teacher Zhao and the other students gathered around to ask about the outcome of the incident.

After hearing their conversation, everyone burst into laughter. "Jiang Xiaoli, you're hilarious! Rebecca must be furious!"

As she was returning to her room, Yu Yang called out to her, "Jiang Xiaoli, you've shown some backbone today. Show the same ruthlessness you showed when you made that bet and give that Rebecca a good beating, understand?"

She smiled and nodded, "Definitely."

Back in the room, Anke sat beside her and told her about the news she had just heard.

"Little Pear, Rebecca is the best student on the American team. Last year, their American team achieved a perfect score of 6 out of 10, and Rebecca was one of them!"

Jiang Xiaoli raised an eyebrow. "Looks like this dieting lady does have some brains after all!"

Seeing her nonchalant expression, Anke grew anxious. "Xiaoli! This is Rebecca's second time participating. She has plenty of experience. You must do your best!"

"Mmm!" Jiang Xiaoli nodded, smiling as she opened a bag of non-spicy pork jerky and handed one to An Ke. "Okay, I know, she's good, but I'm not bad either!"

Seeing her confidence, Anke stopped trying to dissuade her and started eating snacks with her. "Xiaoli, this pork jerky is so delicious! It's from 'Jiang Li Ji,' right?"

...

On July 13th, at the opening ceremony, as soon as the Chinese team entered the stadium, many people's eyes were drawn to them, especially the two girls.

Jiang Xiaoli overheard the sparse discussion behind her.

"Which of the two do you think was the one who outsmarted Rebecca?"

"I think it's the one with short hair. She has a stern face and looks unapproachable."

"I think it's the one with long hair, who has such a good speaking voice, and whose eyes must look very lively."

"I think..."

Jiang Xiaoli really wanted to turn around and tell them the answer, but seeing how enthusiastically they were discussing it, she decided to let them be.

She glanced furtively at Anke, who had short hair, beside her. "Keke, why are you making such a long face? Are you still half asleep?"

Anke looked at her blankly. "No, I'm just a little nervous. When I'm nervous, I unconsciously put on a serious face. Xiaoli, I'm not upset. Don't misunderstand."

"Haha." Jiang Xiaoli waved her hand with a smile, "It's nothing, I was just asking out of curiosity."

Who would have thought that the gentle and sweet Anke would turn into a stern-faced "homeroom teacher" version of Anke when she gets nervous!

After the opening ceremony, Jiang Xiaoli and Shang Run went to the airport to pick up people.

At 9 p.m., they finally saw Xu Xing. Jiang Xiaoli heard Shang Run next to her breathe a sigh of relief.
