Chapter 239 Student Council Dormitory Inspection

The recruitment of new members for student clubs at Peking University will end this Wednesday. Jiang Xiaoli only needs to fill out an application form to join the clubs she is interested in. She finished her own application first, and then accompanied Hu Jingxin and Ren Zhiyi to the student union to submit their application forms.

Hu Jingxin felt uneasy when she saw the registration forms on the table, which were at least 20 centimeters thick. "Why do I feel like all the freshmen in the school have come to register for the student union?"

Ren Zhiyi also shook her head, "Xin Xin, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Let's rewrite the application and submit it to the student union. Let's try both together?"

The two hit it off immediately and found an empty classroom to write a new application, with Jiang Xiaoli giving them advice from the side.

"Your application letters are too bland. Everyone writes about being willing to contribute, and no one will remember that. If you want to stand out, you need to highlight your strengths."

Hu Jingxin rested her elbows on the table. "Xiao Li, what advantages do you think I have?"

Ren Zhiyi also stopped writing and looked like she was listening attentively.

She thought for a moment, "Zhiyi, you're a local and have many senior students at Peking University, so you can write about having a wide network of connections. Xinxin, you can write about having many resources."

Hu Jingxin paused for two seconds, "How come I didn't know I had a lot of resources?"

Jiang Xiaoli tapped on her desk, "Didn't you want to join the external relations department? Having more resources means you can attract more sponsorships. With so many stores in your family, this is no big deal, is it?"

The two of them seemed to have their meridians opened up instantly, and began to write furiously.

Ren Zhiyi was extremely satisfied with her application. "Now I even want to go back and rewrite the application form from the student union."

Jiang Xiaoli gave her a look, "Go if you want to. The final deadline hasn't passed yet, and you probably haven't taken the application form."

They promptly retrieved the student council application form and rewrote it.

Chang Yue met them at the cafeteria at noon. "Have you two finished your club applications?"

Hu Jingxin deliberately put on a melancholy look, "Xiao Li optimized my and Zhiyi's scores, and now I'm starting to worry about which one to choose if we both get selected."

Chang Yue rolled her eyes at her, "You're getting all worked up over me. You can worry about it after both student councils have notified you that you've passed."

Ren Zhiyi suddenly thought of something and looked at Jiang Xiaoli, "Xiaoli, when do you plan to tell Sun Weiwei and the others that you've settled the matter of commuting to school? They've been asking about it every day since you haven't been staying in the dormitory these past two days."

Jiang Xiaoli took a sip of soup. "I have a feeling they're just trying to cause trouble during the freshmen's dorm check tonight. I'm staying in the dorm tonight."

Ren Zhiyi nodded thoughtfully, "Okay, let's resolve this as soon as possible. This is really a bit of a hassle, completely different from the harmonious university dormitory life I imagined."

The three of them had a full afternoon of classes. After class, they ate lunch and brought some food back to Chang Yue before returning to their dormitory.

Ren Zhiyi handed the food to Chang Yue. She looked at the empty dormitory and said, "Don't you guys have no classes in the afternoon? Why are you the only one in the dormitory?"

Hu Jingxin couldn't help but sigh, "I feel like those two are so busy all day, they only come back when it's almost time to turn off the lights."

Chang Yue took the food and put it into the lunchbox. "That's right. We didn't have class this afternoon, and the two of them were never here."

Jiang Xiaoli didn't say anything; she thought it was good that these two troublemakers weren't around.

After they finished washing up in the evening, Jiang Xiaoli moved a stool to the dormitory balcony and called Zong Jiayu.

Zong Jia's tone was full of resentment, "Didn't we already arrange for me to be a day student? Why am I having to stay at the dormitory now?"

Last night, Zhong Yuan was such a third wheel that he didn't even get a chance to be alone with his girlfriend. Today, after class, he went straight home without going to the company, only to find that his girlfriend was nowhere to be found.

Jiang Xiaoli heard his complaint, "Hehe, Comrade Xiao Zong, why are you so clingy?"

Zong Jia said matter-of-factly, "If I don't stick to my girlfriend, am I supposed to stick to Da Yuan?"

"Hahaha." She covered her mouth and chuckled on the balcony, "If Yuan-ge heard you say that, he would be sad."

The two were chatting away like a lovey-dovey couple when suddenly a commotion broke out in the dormitory.

Zong Jia, with her sharp ears, asked, "Why is your dorm so noisy?"

She listened carefully. "It's okay, it's just someone from the student union. They're checking the dorms for freshmen today. I'll hang up now and call you back later."

Just as Jiang Xiaoli was about to open the balcony door, she heard a familiar female voice, "Why is one of you missing?"

If she wasn't mistaken, it was the voice of one of the girls in the trio who tried to stop Zong Jia on the day of registration.

She withdrew her hand from the door.

In the dormitory, Ren Zhiyi politely replied, "Senior, another classmate is on the phone with a friend."

The girl clearly didn't believe her. "You're all freshmen, so don't cover for each other. Otherwise, I won't just deduct points from this one person, but also from your dorm and your class."

Chang Yue was about to speak when Sun Weiwei interrupted her, "Yes, Zhiyi, I know you guys are close to Jiang Xiaoli, but you can't protect her like this. Her family has a house near the school, but we have to abide by the school's rules and regulations. She hasn't stayed in the dormitory for two days in a row."

The girl had a stern face and a harsh expression. "What? You haven't stayed in the dorm for two days in a row?"

Sun Weiwei and Jinzhi nodded at the same time. Jinzhi said, "Senior Bai, please don't deduct our points. Weiwei and I still want to apply for scholarships."

The student council member who was checking the dorms with Bai Xue frowned. She turned to Ren Zhiyi and said, "Didn't you say the person who wasn't there was on the phone? Go and call her back."

The girl who was registering immediately turned to the student council officer and said, "Minister Han, didn't you hear what her roommates said? This person lives very close to the school. It would be enough for her to come to the school from home if you sent someone to call her."

Minister Han glanced at Sun Weiwei and the other person who had just made the revelation and said, "Write it down, and we'll summarize it and report it later."

Just then, the balcony door was pushed open, and Jiang Xiaoli paused for two seconds on Minister Han and Bai Xue, "Oh, the senior students are here to check the dorms?"

Bai Xue, Sun Weiwei, and Jin Zhi all looked astonished.

Jinzhi stammered, "Xiaoli, what are you doing on the balcony?"

Jiang Xiaoli picked up her phone and waved it. "I'm on the phone. Didn't Zhiyi and the others tell you?"

At this moment, Minister Han glared at Bai Xue and said, "Dormitory 307 is clean and everyone is here. Let's move on to the next room."

Bai Xue looked at Jiang Xiaoli, her tone somewhat displeased, "Is your dorm soundproofed that good? Can't you hear us talking inside?"

Jiang Xiaoli shrugged. "Yeah, I was on the phone with my boyfriend. I could only hear you two arguing. I really couldn't hear what you were saying. Why didn't you come to the balcony to call me?"
