Upon returning home, Jiang Xiaoli immediately called Dafu to tell him the news.
"Brother Dafu, I found you a student from Peking University to help you. He's majoring in accounting, and he's my roommate!"
Dafu was a little surprised, "Little Pear, I heard that you freshmen have a lot of courses, so your roommate can't be of much help, right?"
Jiang Xiaoli explained to him, "If she had been working at our company since her freshman year, would we have let her run away after graduation?"
"Haha." Dafu's hearty laughter came through the phone. "Okay, I understand now. When I get to Kyoto, I'll definitely win you over and make you one of our 'Jiang Li Ji' family!"
Jiang Xiaoli chuckled, "Brother Dafu, the way you're talking makes it sound like we're some kind of shady little workshop. As long as we treat our employees well, we don't have to worry about people not wanting to stay."
Dafu readily agreed, "Little Pear, I've almost sorted things out in Xijing. When do you think I should go to Kyoto?"
She thought for a moment, "I need to go back for the opening ceremony of the 'Jinghua Commercial Plaza' during the National Day holiday. Why don't you stay in Xijing for a few more days? Once I get back and check if everything's alright, we can go back to Kyoto together. What do you think?"
"Okay." Dafu agreed. "Then it's settled. I haven't heard from Zhong Yuan lately. How's it going on their end?"
"They're doing well, but they can't go back for the National Day holiday. You'll see when you get here."
Dafu didn't mind. "It's okay, a few more days won't make a difference. When are you and Auntie coming back? I'll come pick you up."
Jiang Xiaoli thought for a moment, "Uncle Xiao will come to pick us up, but you still need to go back to the city on the 30th and come with us to the opening ceremony on the 1st. Don't you want to see how business is at our first 'Jiang Li Ji' physical store?"
Dafu nodded repeatedly, "That's exactly what I was thinking. I went to the store a couple of days ago and it looks beautiful. I'm just waiting for it to open."
The two chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.
Li Guizhi listened from the side, "I didn't realize it before, but after being in Kyoto for more than a month, I really miss Xiaoyu and your Aunt Xu."
Jiang Xiaoli sat down next to her mother and said, "We'll be going back in a few days. You can have a good time when we get back."
"Haha." Li Guizhi patted her daughter's hair. "Xijing is our home. How can we say that coming home is for fun?"
She winked playfully, "Mom, home is wherever we are together."
Li Guizhi chuckled, "Haha, Xiaoli is right, wherever we are, that's home."
On Saturday and Sunday, Li Guizhi and the others assumed that Jiang Xiaoli was going to a driving school to learn to drive.
On Sunday evening, while having dinner, she proudly put her hands on her hips and slammed her driver's license on the table, exclaiming, "I passed my driver's license test!"
Zhong Yuan was so startled that he dropped his drink and spilled it all over his pants.
As he tidied up, he asked incredulously, "Little Pear, did you buy these photos?"
Zong Jiayu frowned. "Little Pear, you know driving is no small matter; it's not something you can just pay money to fix."
Li Guizhi picked up the driver's license and examined it carefully. "Xiao Zong, take a look. This doesn't look fake."
They're doubting their own driving skills!
She waved her little hand and said, "Hurry up and eat. After you finish eating, I'll show you Little Jiang's driving skills!"
The group finished their meal with trepidation and then went to the parking lot together.
Li Guizhi handed her Santana key to her daughter, saying, "Drive my car, it's cheap for me."
Jiang Xiaoli's lips twitched, but she didn't refuse to take the car keys.
Zong Jia sat in the passenger seat, while Li Guizhi and Zhong Yuan sat in the back.
As soon as Zhong Yuan got into the car, he gripped the roof handle tightly. "Little Pear, our lives are all in your hands now, so drive carefully!"
Zong Jia frowned and glared at him, "Shut your jinxed mouth."
Li Guizhi then instructed her daughter, "Xiaoli, you just got your driver's license, drive slowly!"
Zong Jiayu glanced at her actions and couldn't see any problems so far. He observed her carefully without saying a word.
The car quickly drove out of the residential area. To put the three of them at ease, she drove very carefully and didn't do anything fancy.
In less than ten minutes, Zhong Yuan was able to free his hands.
He smacked his lips and said, "Little Pear, what's wrong with your brain? I thought I was awesome for getting my driver's license in just over 20 days. You've only been enrolled for a short time, and you haven't even been to driving school much during the week, have you?"
Jiang Xiaoli glanced at his expression and said, "Brother Yuan, your driving skills are pretty good now."
As soon as this topic came up, Zhong Yuan was wide awake. "Oh my, you have no idea! The other day, Zong and I were driving home from the company, and there was a traffic jam on one section of the road! I managed to squeeze through the traffic and find another way, I was really something!"
This time, Zong Jia didn't discourage him while he was boasting. Instead, he nodded and said, "Indeed, Da Yuan's driving skills have improved a lot."
The four of them drove around for a long time, verifying Jiang Xiaoli's driving skills before returning to the residential area.
After getting out of the car, Zhong Yuan approached Jiang Xiaoli and asked, "Xiaoli, did you know that our Coach Zheng can drive race cars?"
Jiang Xiaoli raised an eyebrow. "I don't know, he didn't mention it. What's up, Brother Yuan, are you interested?"
Zhong Yuan nodded, "Yeah, how cool is that! I'll learn how to do it and take you out to experience it sometime, okay?"
She was just about to share some of her little tips on speeding in her past life with him when Zong Jia walked over with an unhappy expression.
He placed his large hand on Zhong Yuan's neck. "You've gotten into racing now? Looks like you've been too idle. I'll sign you up for a class."
Zhong Yuan wailed, "No, Brother Zong, I haven't had a chance to learn it yet!"
Zong Jiayu ignored his explanation and said, "It's settled then. You go back to class and come back to tell me about it so I can learn it too. We'll do the work of two people for the price of one."
Jiang Xiaoli covered her mouth and chuckled as she listened to their conversation.
Li Guizhi and Zhong Yuan went upstairs, and the two of them made an excuse to chat downstairs.
Jiang Xiaoli poked his arm, "You're treating Yuan Ge like his father, be careful things don't go too far and backfire."
Zong Jia shook his head helplessly, "If we don't take care of him like this, things will really go wrong!"
Fine, she won't get involved in what the two brothers are doing.
She stretched and asked, "Comrade Xiao Zong, how's your search engine research going?"
Zong Jia rubbed her head. "The progress is so-so, mainly due to database issues."
She suddenly looked up and asked, "With your current level, how much knowledge can you still learn at school?"
Zong Jia shook his head, "Not much. I've already self-studied most of the courses, and I should apply for early graduation next July."
Jiang Xiaoli tentatively asked, "Since you're going to work in the internet industry, have you thought about studying abroad?"
“No.” Zong Jiayu shook his head with a smile. “The internet is virgin territory. The most important thing is practice. China’s huge market is the best stage.”
