Zong Jia gently pulled away her hands that were covering her buttocks and massaged them lightly. "Is it any better?"
Jiang Xiaoli snorted irritably, "A weasel paying New Year's greetings to a chicken!"
"Hehe." Zong Jia chuckled softly, his hands continuing their work.
A short while later, Jiang Xiaoli suddenly felt the hands that were massaging her had changed position.
She propped herself up on her elbows and looked back. Zong's eyes were deep and unfathomable, like a big bad wolf about to devour its prey.
She quickly sat up and wrapped herself in the blanket. "What are you doing!"
Zong Jia walked around the left side of the bed to the right side and smiled at the little girl who was wrapped up like a teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll-like doll).
He didn't do anything else, but slowly unfastened his watch and placed it on the bedside table, then unbuttoned his shirt one button at a time.
Jiang Xiaoli swallowed hard when she saw his chest, which was vaguely visible. She couldn't help but complain, "Why don't you unbutton one button every hour?!"
Zong Jia chuckled softly, his half-drooping shirt trembling as his chest vibrated.
This person actually reminded her at this moment, "Alright, Little Pear, go back to your room and rest. Don't you have to get up early tomorrow to go to the factory to see the sample garments?"
Jiang Xiaoli's eyes widened in disbelief. "That's it?"
Zong Jia looked down at her. "What's wrong?"
She angrily grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, yelling, "Zong Jiayu!"
Her response was still that annoying low chuckle.
She stood up abruptly on the bed and grabbed his loose collar. "What are you playing hard to get with me for?"
Zong Jiayu wrapped his arms around her waist and explained, "Little Pear hurt her bottom today, so she should rest."
Jiang Xiaoli gritted her teeth, "How come I never knew you were such a green tea bitch?"
"Green tea? What does that mean?"
Too lazy to explain to him, she simply grabbed his collar and pinned him to the bed.
The man who had just been able to subdue her with one hand, who was as strong as an ox, suddenly became weak and frail.
Jiang Xiaoli chuckled and pinched his chin, looking at him. "Ayu, isn't your little scheme a bit too obvious?"
Zong Jiayu looked at her and smiled brightly, "It's not about having many moves, but about using them effectively."
After he finished speaking, he looked up and kissed her lips.
...
The next morning, Jiang Xiaoli finished washing up, picked up her coat, and opened her bedroom door when she met Yan Chengcheng's gaze, who was about to knock on her door.
She gave an awkward laugh. "Would you believe me if I said I came to wake him up?"
Yan Chengcheng scrutinized her from head to toe, then nodded. "I believe you!"
But her expression, demeanor, and tone showed absolutely no sign of belief.
Jiang Xiaoli was thick-skinned to begin with, so she pretended nothing had happened and called out into the house, "Come downstairs for breakfast! Are you waiting in your room to lay eggs?"
Zong Jia walked out of the room, dressed neatly.
Looking at the man now beaming with pride, Yan Chengcheng could hardly remember what the stern-faced man from last night looked like.
As they went downstairs, she took Jiang Xiaoli's arm and patted her hand, saying, "Xiaoli, you've worked hard."
? ? ?
Jiang Xiaoli felt she had reason to suspect that she had been eavesdropping last night.
Otherwise, how could she know so much about her own experiences?
She couldn't help but rub her lower back, then glared fiercely at Zong Jiayu.
The three of them returned to Yunfeng Garment Factory, inspected the sample garments that had been rushed out the night before, and after confirming that there were no problems, Jiang Xiaoli exchanged pleasantries with Factory Director Wang and then took her leave.
On the way back to Kyoto, Zong Jia drove behind her the whole time to protect her.
Yan Chengcheng looked back at the car behind her and couldn't help but ask gossipily, "Xiao Li, can you tell me about it?"
Jiang Xiaoli didn't quite follow her train of thought for a moment. "Hmm? What should we talk about?"
Yan Chengcheng's face flushed red. "It's...it's that!"
Seeing her shy expression, Jiang Xiaoli instantly understood.
She chuckled softly, "Chengcheng, you don't even have a boyfriend yet, isn't it a bit too early to know about this?"
Yan Chengcheng puffed out her chest, "I don't have a boyfriend, but I have a wealth of theoretical knowledge!"
She became interested. "Tell me more?"
Yan Chengcheng immediately shared the various "serious literature" she had been reading with her.
Jiang Xiaoli became more and more engrossed in listening, and she couldn't help but look at Yan Chengcheng with newfound respect, "Chengcheng, where did you find all this information?!"
Yan Chengcheng said confidently, "Of course I have my own channels! Let me tell you, I didn't agree to share them with Xin Xin before!"
She suddenly thought of Zhong Yuan's vast stock and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Yan Chengcheng looked at her strangely, "What, you don't believe me?"
She quickly shook her head, "No, no, I believe you. I just suddenly thought of something else interesting."
Knowing that Yan Chengcheng was a seasoned driver with theoretical knowledge, Jiang Xiaoli no longer felt guilty about leading the innocent girl astray, and the two raced through the car on their way back to Kyoto.
As they chatted, she couldn't help but step on the gas pedal a little harder, which prompted Zong Jiayu behind her to honk his horn.
Back in Kyoto, after sending Yan Chengcheng back to school, Jiang Xiaoli and Zong Jia returned to their apartment complex one after the other.
After parking the car, she immediately raised her hands in surrender, saying, "I'll definitely be more careful about my speed next time!"
She admitted her mistake so quickly that Zong Jiayu's prepared explanation got stuck in his throat.
Finally, he simply tapped her forehead and said, "Don't let it happen again!"
Back home, Jiang Xiaoli collapsed on the sofa and called Li Guizhi to let her know she was safe.
Li Guizhi was taking a lunch break at her shop. "You're such a worry! As soon as Xiao Zong heard that you two young ladies had driven out of town, he immediately dropped everything and drove to Baocheng to find you. Can you please give me a break?"
After she promised seven or eight times that she would be more safety conscious in the future, she was finally allowed to hang up the phone.
She kicked the person next to her, whose smile had deepened, with a look of utter despair. "You're so happy to see me get criticized?"
Zong Jia shook his head. "I was just thinking about Little Pear who kept begging for mercy last night. You only become so sweet-talking when you need something from someone."
Jiang Xiaoli got angry just thinking about it. She sat up and tapped his chest with her finger, "How dare you say that! I'm thinking of calling the police right now. I think I've been scammed!"
Zong Jia raised an eyebrow. "Who scammed you?"
She said firmly, "You, that brat Zong Jiayu, lied to me!"
What did I lie to you about?
She pouted and said, "Think about how many times you said 'the last time,' 'almost done,' and 'soon' last night?"
"Hahaha." Zong Jia's joy was palpable.
He reached out and pulled Jiang Xiaoli into his arms, giving her a gentle squeeze. "Baby, how can you be so cute?"
Jiang Xiaoli struggled to peek her head out from under his arm, "You're the cutest! You're so adorable!"
