Chapter 30: Hahaha, the dog eats lime and has a white mouth
Deng Xiuzhen thought the children would feel aggrieved and pretentious for a while, so she had thought of a whole plan on how to tell the children about this matter and how to communicate with them, and she even practiced it several times on her own.
I didn't expect that the children were still a little upset when they went to school, and they were angry when they left. When they came back from school, I could hear their laughter from a distance, as if they were not the ones who were angry when they left.
As soon as she got home, she called her parents affectionately as usual, then put down her schoolbag and ate. Everything was normal, the only difference was that after dinner, Wen Jing and Wen Xin went to wash the dishes and wipe the table without being told.
Even Wen Yu helped to throw away the garbage. If Deng Xiuzhen hadn't stopped him because she was afraid that it would be unsafe for him to go out alone, he would have gone to the entrance of the alley to throw away the garbage.
The children not only washed dishes, wiped the table and swept the floor, but also took the initiative to learn how to make beds and fold clothes, and even started helping to pick vegetables and cook.
Wenjing is better at hands-on work than Wenxin. Plus, she is older, so she learns to do things much faster than Wenxin. Not only did she quickly master some basic housework, she can also fry eggs and cook noodles.
Now Deng Xiuzhen felt relieved.
The roof over there was repaired and inspected in two days, and the workers were paid. Deng Xiuzhen planned to clean the house and then lock it up and put it away.
As soon as she entered the house, two people followed in from behind, which scared Deng Xiuzhen.
I touched my chest and looked back, and it turned out to be Aunt Chen and a woman who looked about fifty years old.
"This Auntie Chen is such a ghost! No one says anything to her, no one says anything to her, but she pops up every day, sneaking out, scaring people at every turn. Damn Auntie, I'm dying!" Deng Xiuzhen cursed in her heart, but she greeted her warmly: "Auntie Chen, you're here? Auntie, please take a seat."
Aunt Chen curled her lips, forced a smile, and said, "You don't have a place to sit here? Not only is it dusty everywhere, there's not even a good stool. Everyone has broken legs and limbs. I really don't understand how Qiu Xian has lived all these years. How could she have lived in a place like this for decades?
Xiuzhen girl, I'm not talking about you. You just got here, and it has nothing to do with you if things are broken. You must have rebuilt them since you came here.
Don't be embarrassed. Your Aunt Fang and I are here to take a look. You don't have to sit down. Just go and do your thing. Don't worry about us."
"I heard that you spent sixteen thousand to buy this house?" Fang's mother glanced at the room and came over to ask.
"But it's more than that. She spent more than a hundred to repair the roof. This kid didn't even ask his neighbors before buying a house. She must be at a big loss now, right?" Mother Chen said as she looked around.
"Then you're losing a lot of money. My house has one more room than this one, and it only cost thirteen thousand." Fang's mother said while shaking her head.
"Look at this broken table and this crooked stool, how can they be used? They need to be replaced with new ones, which costs a lot of money. Girl, you are really a loss to your mother's room!" Aunt Chen said, her nose and eyes almost twisted together.
Mother Chen and Mother Fang looked and commented, from the living room to the kitchen, there was nothing they thought was usable.
Indeed, from the dining table and chairs to the kitchen cabinets and stove, everything was in tatters.
The two then went to the bedroom. Deng Xiuzhen wanted to stop them. After all, the things inside were different from those outside, especially the flower bed and furniture, which were truly unique.
Although she didn't know the value of the goods, she could tell that it was a good thing.
The day before yesterday, Chen's mother told her that Huang Juxiang's mother never let outsiders into her bedroom, and she was particularly cold. Not only did she not take the initiative to interact with others, but even when others came to her house, she was very reluctant, as if to say, "Get out of here quickly, I don't welcome you."
So even Chen Ma, who lived nearby and liked to visit other families, had only entered the front door and sat on the lame stool. She had never been to the bedroom, and other people did not even enter Qiu Xian's front door.
When Aunt Chen said this, she snorted coldly: Who would want to go into that dirty, dark house with all those junks?
She said it casually, but Deng Xiuzhen could hear her curiosity and unwillingness.
So today Aunt Chen must have come to see what's in that room.
If those things were seen by Aunt Chen and others and spread the news, she wouldn't be able to keep herself safe if someone was keeping an eye on her.
But she couldn't stop them from going in to see. Deng Xiuzhen was anxious, but couldn't think of a solution for a while.
Before she could think of a solution, Aunt Chen had already pushed the door.
"Bang!" With a loud bang, dust flew everywhere. Aunt Chen got a mouthful of dust and stepped back, spitting out the dust repeatedly.
"Auntie Chen, are you okay?" Deng Xiuzhen hurried forward and asked with concern.
"Hahahaha, a dog eats lime and has a white mouth!" Mother Fang looked at Mother Chen who was laughing from ear to ear and blurted out something.
"Fang Qiumei! You!" Aunt Chen shouted angrily.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it." Fang's mother quickly put away her smile and apologized.
He turned around and covered his mouth with his hands and laughed.
"Don't laugh!" Aunt Chen was furious.
"I didn't laugh, I really didn't laugh!" Fang's mother assured Chen's mother with her back turned.
"Your shoulders are shaking, you must be laughing!"
"I'm not laughing, I'm shaking off the dust." Fang's mother was still shaking without looking back.
"Hmph!" Aunt Chen snorted coldly and left.
Fang's mother ran out after him.
After they all left, Deng Xiuzhen closed the door and couldn't help laughing. She was afraid that Chen Ma and the others would hear her, so she quickly covered her mouth, but she couldn't stop laughing. She laughed so hard that her stomach hurt, and it took her a long time to recover.
I walked into the bedroom and saw the furniture covered with a torn bed sheet and then covered with a layer of rain cloth. Fortunately, the rain cloth was not lifted and was not damaged.
She pressed the light button to turn it on, and the light that had been working fine a few days ago was not on today.
Looking up, in the dim light, the beams were not very clear. I could only see shadows, but couldn't tell where the dust fell from.
Looking down, I saw an ash bucket. The bucket was not broken, just cracked, and the ash around it was much thicker than the one next to it.
It seems that this is the bucket that fell just now.
The worker who was cleaning the house was just replacing the tiles, so he wouldn't need this ash bucket, let alone this kind of ash.
Deng Xiuzhen didn't understand where this bucket and the ash came from.
If it had existed before, then I had gone in and out many times but never fell down.
If it didn't exist before, then where did it come from? Did someone put it there in the past two days?
Deng Xiuzhen was shocked: Who released it? And why?
Hiding something? I bought this house myself and hired someone to repair the roof. I will definitely come in. What can I hide? Putting an ash bucket to drop some dust will not stop me from coming in, nor will it stop me from rummaging around.
Deng Xiuzhen couldn't figure it out, but she felt the danger.
She looked at the thick dust and a few broken tiles on the tarpaulin, thought about it, and decided not to clean it up: she would not live in it anyway, as long as she was the owner of the house and could sell it for money in the future, she didn't care what others hid here.
You are going to be rich in the future, so don't dwell on such trivial matters, or you may get into trouble.
Leave it like this, it won't attract thieves or the person who put the ash bucket there.
Deng Xiuzhen locked the door, bought groceries and went home to cook as usual.
