Chapter 111: Carrying out the Mission

Director An didn't get angry after hitting a snag. Instead, he laughed. With his chubby face, he looked like a Maitreya Buddha. "Young man, don't be so absolute. Always leave a way out for others."

Chu Beichen was no ordinary cadre. He grew up in a military family and had some understanding of officialdom. He smiled faintly and replied, "I was transferred normally, and all the procedures were complete. Now all that's left is to go through the formalities. Why won't you give others a chance to live?"

"Director An, please tell me. If I don't understand, I can ask other leaders!"

Director An's face changed. He didn't want to meddle in Huang Feng's affairs. The armored division wanted young cadres like Chu Beichen. Even if Chu Beichen's name was used, the armored division would not accept cadres like Huang Feng.

That's why Director An asked Huang Feng to act out a sad story, hoping to impress Chu Beichen and let him voluntarily give up his place. Unexpectedly, Huang Feng, this idiot, messed things up, and Chu Beichen refused to give in at all.

"Captain Chu, don't overthink it," Director An scratched his head. "I know your transfer is a normal one. Don't worry. There are still some unfinished paperwork. Go back and wait. I'll let you know when it's ready!"

Chu Beichen understood that Director An had failed to achieve his goal and wanted to take the opportunity to make things difficult for him!

As soon as Chu Beichen walked out of the office, Director An picked up the phone on the table and started talking to Huang Feng.

"Xiao Huang, this is not a easy matter to handle!" Director An was very troubled.

Huang Feng had been spending a lot of money to deal with Director An, and now he was clearly convinced that he had Old An in his arms. He spoke bluntly, "I don't care. You have to figure out a way to deal with this!"

Director An felt frustrated and was very angry after hanging up the phone. He wanted to get rid of Huang Feng, this hot potato, but he was also afraid that the other party would bite back and reveal his dark history of eating and drinking for free all these years.

Director An rolled his eyes and suddenly came up with an idea.

Chu Beichen had just returned to the Third Brigade and hadn't even sat down when he heard the phone ringing. It was the military headquarters conveying an order that a group of internationally wanted criminals were about to be traded, and they asked him to lead others to cooperate with Interpol and prepare for the outer defense mission.

Chu Beichen didn't have time to think about it. Military orders were as heavy as mountains. Although he was in the process of being transferred, the transfer procedures had not been completed yet, so he was still a member of the third team.

Chu Beichen immediately gathered his men and prepared to set off. The armorer opened the warehouse and distributed weapons to the participants. Chu Beichen took his service gun and then took the time to say goodbye to Su Nian.

Time was short, and before the two young people could say anything more, a whistle sounded in the courtyard, signaling their departure. Chu Beichen suddenly hugged Su Nian and whispered in her ear, "Wait for me!"

Their chests pressed tightly together, Su Nian could feel Chu Beichen's heartbeat. She took a deep breath and looked up at Chu Beichen, "Beichen, I'll be waiting for you!"

Chu Beichen let go of his hand, pushed open the door and rushed out. The cold wind from outside rushed in, and a chill permeated Su Nian.

She hurried to the window. The cars in the yard had already started moving. Chu Beichen was sitting in the leading car. He waved at Su Nian and smiled.

The convoy drove away in a flash. Su Nian felt empty inside. She didn't know what happened to Chu Beichen in his previous life in the northwest. However, Chu Beichen's transfer order had arrived, but he still had to go on a mission. This was very abnormal.

Su Nian thought about it, quickly picked up the phone in the house, and asked the operator to connect her to Chu's father's office. Although she couldn't help with this matter, she could at least tip him off.

The transfer took a long time. After about half an hour, the call was finally connected. Chu's father answered the phone. His voice was very low, but still clear.

Su Nian didn't know the whole story, so she just objectively said that Chu Beichen was going on a mission. As expected, Chu's father was very surprised, "Didn't Beichen go through the transfer procedures?"
