Chapter 1193: Never Seen the World

The couple chatted and listened to the whistling wind outside the tent. Camping in the desert was a brand new experience for them.

Su Nian fell asleep quickly. Chu Beichen was supposed to be on guard at two o'clock, but when the time came, the person on guard before him did not call him. It was the timer he set that rang and woke Chu Beichen up.

Chu Beichen pressed the timer, put on his coat and went out of the tent. He saw the couple guarding the campfire, both nodding their heads like chickens pecking at rice.

Chu Beichen was both amused and angry, and hurried over. "Why are you staying up all night when you're so sleepy? Why don't you call the successor?"

The husband stammered, "Didn't I want everyone to sleep a little longer?"

Chu Beichen shook his head and sent the couple to bed. He then threw a few pieces of wood into the campfire and sat down.

The night in the desert was unusually quiet, and the wild beasts that everyone had been worried about did not appear.

The next morning, before daybreak, Tang Xin shouted, "Monster! There's a monster!"

Everyone was originally on guard against wild beasts, but now they were shocked to hear that there were not only wild beasts but also monsters. They all jumped out of the tents to prepare for a fight, but after looking around, they found no trace of the monster.

When they went to look for Tang Xin, the person who initially raised the alarm, they found that her tent had not been opened yet.

What was going on? Su Nian cautiously walked over and opened the door of Tang Xin's tent, but was surprised to find that she was still fast asleep. It turned out that what everyone thought was Tang Xin's warning was actually just her dream talk.

Everyone was at a loss for words. They had been woken up anyway and couldn't fall asleep in this cold morning, so they simply stretched their bodies while cleaning their hands and faces with a little water and preparing to eat breakfast.

The broth was finished last night, so this morning we only had white noodles and boiled eggs. Despite this, everyone still enjoyed the meal. The cold weather can increase the calories people consume exponentially.

"After breakfast, we will enter the ancient city. Everyone should follow the big brother and his wife who are leading the way, and be careful not to fall behind," Chu Beichen made detailed arrangements as if he were treating soldiers.

The couple who led the way were intimidated by Chu Beichen's majestic demeanor and sat aside not daring to speak. They felt that this ancient city was where they ran and played when they were young, so there would be no danger, but they could not say this in front of Chu Beichen.

Everyone agreed seriously, looked at the map carefully, took their own compressed biscuits and mineral water, and then walked towards the ancient city together.

It is said to be an ancient city, but in fact it is just ruins. The roofs of the buildings have long been weathered away, and some even have no walls.

The couple who led the way walked in front. According to Chu Beichen's request, they tried their best to walk through the entire ancient city ruins.

Mark looked at these buildings with awe, "Su Nian, what dynasty is this?"

Su Nian shook his head in confusion. "It should be an unknown small dynasty. No one has ever developed it. I don't know the specific dynasty here. However, the vase my father found here was identified as something from the official kiln of the Tang Dynasty."

"So the specific age of this place should be very close to the Tang Dynasty!"

Mark nodded. “That was an amazing era. I’m so excited to see the relics left over from that era today!”

Everyone secretly wiped their sweat and disagreed with what Mark said. Only the remnants of the building were left at the scene. The other pots and pans were probably taken away by the wandering herdsmen. How unworldly must Mark be to be so excited?
