Lan's mother was furious. She slammed her handbag on the table, causing the fruit snacks on it to jump. "How can you be so unreasonable? There's nothing wrong with my daughter Bo'er. She's rich and beautiful, and she graduated from Beijing University. How can she not be worthy of a blue-collar worker like Akang?"
Su Nian smiled and said, "Do you think you can match them up just because they're a good match? I know everything about Akang and Lan Boer. They never had the kind of relationship you described."

The young man nodded in agreement and turned to leave.
Lan's mother glared at him, "Why are you pretending? Am I afraid of you?"
