Chapter 1922 Standards

The first of the two volunteers was a man in his fifties with gray hair and a medium build. He was pushed onto the stage in a wheelchair.

"Mr. Sasaki was in a car accident ten years ago. Since then, he has been unable to move his legs. The question for Mr. Sasaki is to have him stand up and take three steps!"

After Yoshiko finished explaining Sasaki's situation, she ignored the commotion and clapped her hands to signal another volunteer to come on stage.

The second person to come on stage was a woman. She was very young, only about 30 years old, with delicate makeup and even wearing a dress. However, Fangzi grabbed her hands and showed them to the audience. The muscles in her hands were atrophied and dry, and they looked like chicken claws.

"This lady has muscle paralysis, and her hands can't perform fine movements. Our competition today is to get Ms. Watanabe to pick up a pen on the spot!"

The reporters at the scene shook their heads, not knowing where this Fangzi came from. Was she trying to destroy her own reputation or Su Nian's? The two patients she mentioned were clearly suffering from incurable diseases. One had been paralyzed for ten years, and the other had atrophied muscles in both hands.

How could it be possible for these two people to recover on the spot? Unless a god intervened.

Su Nian, however, still maintained a faint smile. Su Nian's secretary nodded and asked Fangzi, "If these two patients are the ones Ms. Fangzi came up with, then we are willing to accept them. However, they have different diseases. How will you assign the candidates and how will you measure the treatment results?"

Fangzi took out a lottery stick and said, "From a medical perspective, these two people's illnesses are about the same difficulty to treat. Let's just draw lots and decide randomly!"

"As for the treatment results, just as I said earlier, Mr. Sasaki's standard for recovery is to take three steps, while Ms. Yoshiko's standard for recovery is to pick up a pen!"

Su Nian's secretary shook her head. "Ms. Fangzi, this is your first time participating in this kind of competition. If you set the standards so low, there's no way to determine the winner!"

Fangzi originally thought that Su Nian and the people around him would be surprised and helpless with the difficulty of the test she had set, but she didn't expect that the other party seemed to think the difficulty was not enough and asked Fangzi to propose further judgment criteria.

Fangzi was a little confused about what the other party meant. "Could you please explain it more clearly?"

Seeing that Fangzi didn't understand, the reporters in the audience exposed their bodies, as if to say, look, you are really a fool.

Su Nian's secretary smiled and said, "Ms. Fangzi, your standards aren't accurate enough! For example, if you say Mr. Sasaki takes three steps, the treatment is effective. What if he only takes two steps? And if Ms. Watanabe doesn't pick up a pen but picks up a pencil, would you consider it effective?"

When the reporters in the audience heard the secretary speak so bluntly, they burst into laughter.

Fangzi's face flushed. The secretary was absolutely right. Whether picking up a pen or a pencil, it both represented a return of strength and flexibility. It was just the degree of recovery that varied, so the standard she had set was quite irregular.

But the words had already been spoken, so Fangzi could only grit her teeth and say, "I think the standard I set is very reasonable, just follow it!"

Hearing what Fangzi said, the people on Su Nian's side just smiled faintly and did not continue to argue. Seeing this situation, Fangzi was slightly relieved and handed the bucket of lots to the notary and asked them to shake the lots.
