Chapter 48 Can You Cure Her?

Su Nian agreed and followed Forensic Doctor Liu out. Her salary included a free work lunch.

Lunch is served in the cafeteria in the backyard of the police station. The food is the same for everyone and there are plates. You tell the chef how much you want to eat.

It was the peak time for lunch. There were seven or eight people in police uniforms lined up in front of Su Nian. Unlike what she had imagined, these usually serious policemen were now discussing the lunch dishes.

"We have yellow croaker today, I want one!" The young policeman standing in front of Su Nian was chatting with forensic doctor Liu with a smile.

"Haha, the fish is just too small. I don't know when our meals will improve!" Forensic Doctor Liu touched his gray hair with some regret, as if he was wondering if he could enjoy it before retiring.

Su Nian is a young girl who stands out a bit among the uniformed team. However, there is more than one temporary worker like her. This morning, when she went to the Finance Department to fill out the payroll form, it was a young man who was also a temporary worker who helped her.

Soon it was Su Nian's turn. She caught a yellow croaker, a serving of mapo tofu, and a spoonful of rice, then took her plate and found an empty table to sit down.

The police also implement militarized management, although it is not as strict as in the army. Everyone is very self-conscious and basically no one talks while eating.

After dinner, Su Nian returned to the forensic office, hesitating whether to take out the folding bed to sleep for a while. At this moment, the phone rang.

She picked up the phone, and a man's voice rang out, "Doctor Xiao Su, this is Lao Chen. Do you remember the number you gave me yesterday?"

Su Nian nodded: "I remember now. So, when are you planning to bring grandma over to see the doctor?"

"Haha, I went back last night and carefully looked at the address you left. So you're a forensic doctor? I really didn't recognize you," said Old Chen, who was very talkative. "I guess you have regular business this afternoon, so it's not convenient for us to come and see your doctor. How about going over now and asking you to help my mother?"

The other party was so polite, Su Nian didn't pretend, "Okay, then I'll wait for you in the office!"

After hanging up the phone, Su Nian remembered that there was someone on duty at the entrance of the police station. He didn't know if Old Chen could come in.

Less than five minutes later, there was a knock on the office door. Su Nian hurried to open the door and saw that it was the old lady in the wheelchair yesterday. The one pushing her was the aunt who spoke rudely yesterday. Old Chen was standing next to her, greeting Su Nian with a smile.

Aunt Chen had a tantrum in the small clinic yesterday, so she called her husband and the family drove the old lady to Changhai Hospital.

After a long wait in line to register, she was finally seen by a specialist. After another round of tests, the final conclusion she reached was exactly the same as Su Nian's casual comment. The old lady had too much stool in her intestines, causing intestinal spasms and pain.

Aunt Chen received the diagnosis report and was filled with disbelief: "How come it's exactly the same as what that little girl said?"

Old Chen quickly asked what was going on, and Aunt Chen then told him in detail about her afternoon medical consultation.

"You said this young doctor is so amazing, is she really sure she can cure mom's illness?" Aunt Chen asked her husband uncertainly.

Not every doctor has the ability to easily diagnose a patient by just taking the patient's pulse. Old Chen is a businessman with his own trading company. He is a filial son, and his greatest wish is to enable his elderly mother to walk.

But over the years, I took my mother to countless places, and all I got was the three words "incurable". Only when the doctor said that this little girl had some trouble, did it mean that it could be cured?
