Uncle Chu hadn't said anything yet when Aunt Chu said, "You little girl, how can you not understand? Beichen's uncle is talking to him, why are you butting in?"
Chu Beichen raised his head and looked at Aunt Chu seriously, "Su Nian is not an outsider, she certainly has the right to ask about my affairs!"
Aunt Chu crossed her arms. "Oh, you two are of one mind. You're already acting like husband and wife before you even get married! But you have to think clearly about who you are closer to. Your uncle has watched you grow up! Don't mistake outsiders for your own!"
Su Nian snorted lightly: "You are trying every possible way to take advantage of Beichen, so you are getting close to him?" If this is considered closeness, then this relationship would be better off not having it!
Uncle Chu glared at Chu Beichen. The last time he talked about Su Nian, he was almost beaten by Chu Beichen, so this time he didn't dare to look at Su Nian. "Beichen, your uncle is not short of money. I hang out with friends from wealthy families every day!"
"To tell you the truth, these warrants are much more useful in my hands than in yours! I've already thought about it and stockpiled twenty of them! You know, hoarding them and seeing how the market performs in the future!"
"Give the rest away, you'll have more friends and more opportunities! What can you do with them? Sell them one by one and make a little money?" Uncle Chu seemed quite distressed, as if he was really worried about the fate of these subscription certificates.
"Uncle, what you call useful is useful to you! If you have the subscription certificates, it's up to you to stockpile them and make friends!" Chu Beichen slammed his wine glass on the table, his expression becoming serious. "But I bought these subscription certificates, so how I arrange them is my business. Don't worry about it, uncle!"
Uncle Chu patted his chest and said, "Beichen, you don't trust me? Do you think I would covet those subscription certificates of yours?"
"Haha, uncle, I don't like to let others deal with my things!" Chu Beichen picked up the bowl, finished his rice in a few mouthfuls, and stood up. "I'm done, leave me alone!"
Su Nian had put down her bowl and stopped eating a long time ago. She left the table with Chu Beichen and did not go to watch TV. Instead, they went into Su Nian's room together.
"You two kids are so ignorant!" Aunt Chu yelled at them in dissatisfaction.
Su Nian's door was closed. Chu Beichen and Su Nian sat at the table and the head of the bed respectively, listening to Uncle Chu and his wife quarreling outside. They were saying things like Chu Beichen was ignorant and Su Nian was uneducated.
Su Nian stuck out her tongue lightly. "Oh no, Beichen, I feel like I've stirred up a hornet's nest!"
Chu Beichen didn't care: "It's okay, this time we have to make them give up, so that they won't try to get something for nothing next time!"
Su Nian chuckled: "That's a good word! Beichen, do you think they will try to target Grandma again?"
"Yes," Chu Beichen's words made Su Nian feel relieved again, "but grandma won't give it to him!"
"My uncle said a long time ago that he wanted to move in with grandma, but grandma didn't agree. Now my uncle's family still has objections! They say grandma is partial to her daughter and doesn't care about her son!"
Su Nian was surprised: "Uncle doesn't have a house of his own?"
"Yes, it was bought for them by grandma, but it's not as big as this house of grandma's!" Chu Beichen scratched his head. "According to my uncle's idea, grandma should live with them, contribute money to the family expenses, cook and wash clothes for the three of them at home. Only then can she be considered a loving mother!"
"Grandma didn't want to encourage their perverse thoughts, so she insisted on living alone and even hired a nanny to take care of her, saying it would be more comfortable that way!"
