Perhaps it was a little late for feeding today. When the door of the deer house was opened, the little elk could not wait to run out. They rubbed their heads affectionately against several keepers. There was an especially small deer that stretched out its pink tongue to lick Han Qing's hand.
Neither Chu Beichen nor Han Qing had ever raised such a docile animal, and they felt very curious for a moment.
It took more than two hours to feed the deer from one house to another. Han Qing and Chu Beichen had never done such tiring work except for disaster relief. They couldn't help but sigh, "It seems that running a deer farm is not easy!"
"Of course. When spring comes, we have to take the deer to the mountains to graze. That's when it gets tiring. There are hundreds of deer, and we have to take seven or eight dogs with us. We have to run around outside all day, relying only on dry food and water," Tang Feihu began to talk more.
"But if you want to make money, there are no easy jobs. Tang Xin is smart and escaped from the countryside. We hope she can stay in the city and teach or become a doctor, and not work as hard as we do!" Tang Feihu said very simply.
Han Qing was silent for a while before answering, "Don't worry, I'm here to take good care of Tang Xin!"
Tang Feihu is a man of few words but has very positive ideas. When he heard Han Qing's answer, he understood what was going on. Without saying anything more, he took Han Qing and Chu Beichen back to the cabin to rest and waited until the workers who were to take over the next day came before leaving.
"It's winter now, and I probably won't be able to recruit new workers. I'll come to the deer farm first and wait until after the New Year and spring to come before looking for someone to help!" Tang Feihu said as he walked.
The deer farm does not cook, so when other workers are on duty, their families come to bring them meals. However, Tang Feihu strode quickly and took his two guests home to eat.
"Thank you both for your hard work last night. Where are you going to play today?" Han Qing looked like a young man and was very dedicated to his work, which made Tang Feihu very satisfied. He treated the two of them more kindly.
As he was talking, he ran into Sun Rui. He was holding a lunch box wrapped in cotton cloth, and it seemed that he was delivering food to Sun Guizi.
Tang Feihu hesitated for a moment and called Sun Rui, "Did you know that your father fed bitterroot grass to the deer last night?"
Sun Rui's hands trembled, and his eyes flickered. "Is that true? I guess my dad must have seen it wrong. After all, his eyesight isn't very good!"
"He was holding a bag full of bitterroot grass. I shouldn't have seen it wrong," Tang Feihu didn't intend to let the Sun family off easily, so he had to explain everything to Sun Rui now, lest he lose control of his mouth and spread rumors everywhere.
"What?" Sun Rui was obviously not very sophisticated. After hearing what Tang Feihu said, his hand shook and the lunch box fell to the ground.
Chu Beichen and Han Qing looked at each other and realized that Sun Rui should also be an accomplice.
They were right. Those bitterroot grasses were collected by Sun Rui. They, father and son, had evil intentions and had long wanted to attack the Tang family's deer farm. It was only thanks to Tang Xin's return that the Sun family was eager to propose to her, which delayed the poisoning.
When his marriage proposal was rejected by the Tang family, Sun Guizi immediately took out the bitterroot grass he had prepared long ago and took action.
Sun Rui no longer cared about his lunch box and hurriedly asked Tang Feihu, "What did you do to my father?"
"I've sent him to the police station. Don't worry, I won't lynch him!" Tang Feihu answered calmly.
Sun Rui yelled and ran towards the police station.
The three of them looked at Sun Rui's back, shook their heads together, and hurried home to eat.
