The situation in the restaurant was very strange. Grandpa Han sat at the first seat, Su Nian and Chu Beichen sat side by side on Grandpa Han's right, and the old country man and his son sat on his left. It was probably the first time for the two men to see such a luxurious place, and they were a little at a loss.
Han Tiezhu sat opposite Grandpa Han, looking quite pleased with himself. He stared at Grandpa Han and the others with a smile on his face.
Han Qing did not sit down, leaving the seat next to Su Nian empty. He stood by the window with his back to the window, not knowing what he was thinking.
The atmosphere was weird. The fat chef who served the food was a little nervous. He put down the plates and left in a hurry.
"Han Qing, come and have dinner!" Grandpa Han called Han Qing.
Han Qing replied sullenly, "You guys eat first, I'll take a breath!"
All the cold dishes have been served, and two or three hot dishes have also been served, so Grandpa Han invites everyone to eat.
Su Nian sat opposite the old country man, secretly observing the behavior of the father and son from time to time. She found that since they sat down at the table, their eyes had never left the plates, and they were even secretly swallowing their saliva. It seemed that they were not only hungry, but also very greedy.
Grandpa Han coughed lightly and said, "Then let's eat!"
The old country man and his son grabbed their chopsticks and began to eat heartily in front of everyone's surprised gaze. They ate so fast that people suspected they didn't chew at all. At the beginning, the father and son only extended their chopsticks to the dishes close to them. Later, they seemed to be bolder and began to sweep the entire table.
Su Nian and Chu Beichen had not eaten, but seeing the father and son looking so greedy, they had lost their appetite and simply put down their chopsticks and watched them eat.
The fat chef cooked two dishes and when he brought them to the table, everyone's jaw almost dropped in surprise. Of the six cold dishes he initially brought to the table, three hot dishes had already been eaten up!
Who is coming today? The fat cook couldn't help wondering, but unfortunately no one answered him. The atmosphere at the table was solemn, and everyone stared at the old country man and his son.
"What's your name?" Grandpa Han finally asked, seeing that the country old man had almost finished his meal, "Why did you come to see me?"
"My name is Chen Erbao. This old man came to me a few days ago," the country old man pointed at Han Tiezhu who was sitting next to him, "He said I was your child who had been stranded outside, and he wanted to bring me here to recognize my relatives!"
"I didn't want to come at first, but my son was insisting on coming to see the world. Then I thought, there's no farm work to do now, so I might as well go out. So I followed him to find you!" The old country man spoke without any desire or expectation, as if he really regarded this trip to recognize his relatives as a dispensable matter.
Grandpa Han nodded: "Who gave you the photo you took out?"
"My mother gave it to me before she died," the old man was a little moved when he mentioned his mother, and rubbed the corners of his eyes.
"What did she say when she gave it to you?" Grandpa Han asked the next question.
"She said someone would come to see me, and then I would show him this photo!" The old man stuttered again.
If what the old man said was true, he didn't know, but his mother did. This thought flashed through the minds of everyone present.
"Well, what did your old father say?" Grandpa Han clasped his hands together on the table, his long gray eyebrows trembling from time to time, showing that he was extremely uneasy inside.
"My father passed away earlier than my mother!" The old man was sad and raised his hand to rub the corners of his eyes.
