The next morning, Chu Beichen went to the store alone to check the progress of the decoration there. After Su Nian got up, he kept reviewing his lessons.
Seeing that it was already past ten o'clock and Chu Beichen still hadn't returned, Su Nian hurriedly put the rice on the table and prepared to fry two dishes.
The vegetables and meat were all ready, except for the salt. The Chu family was only two steps away from the gate, so Su Nian grabbed her small bag and went out to buy salt.

Su Nian glanced at her, turned and left without saying a word.
Sun Meifeng was still calling her from behind: "Su Nian, remember to go!"
Su Nian ran across the street to buy a bag of salt. As soon as she walked out of the shop, she met Chu Beichen. He looked excited, and it was obvious that things were going smoothly!
"Su Nian, why did you come out?" Chu Beichen reached out and took the salt from Su Nian's hand. "Buying salt? Running so far?"
Su Nian pointed to Wei Ge's shop and said, "Well, they sell a bag for five yuan at the door!"
"No wonder he can sit there so quietly," Chu Beichen shook his head and changed the subject. "Our store is almost finished. You can go and see it next week. It's already taking shape!"
Chu Beichen described the store's interior, the colors, and the medicine cabinets. "It's a shame you didn't go. Once you see it, you'll feel your money was well spent!"
Su Nian was so itchy from his description, "How about I watch it quickly today and go check it out tomorrow morning?"
"Okay," Chu Beichen nodded, "When are you taking the exam?"
"That's around the end of May!" Su Nian only knew an approximate time.
It was the end of April when she and Chu Beichen set out for Zhoushan, and then went to Laowan Township. They hadn't seen each other for more than half a month. Now it was mid-May, and the exam was indeed just a few days away!
Chu Beichen understood the importance of this exam, so he comforted Su Nian: "If that's the case, then the exam will be over soon, you can go and see it then!"

I don’t know what kind of results Su Nian will get in the exam, but Chu Beichen received a notice from his unit as soon as he got to work on Monday.
