Chapter 40 I'll Support You

As soon as I entered the room, I was greeted by a warm feeling. It turned out there was a fire burning in the room, presumably to prevent the patients from getting cold. The doctor on duty was a bearded man in his forties, treating a naughty little boy who was throwing a tantrum and refusing to let the doctor use his stethoscope.

Su Nian looked at all this curiously, and saw a woman wearing a nurse's hat and uniform walk out of the operating room, "Would you like to see a doctor?"

"No, we came here because we saw the recruitment notice!" Su Nian quickly explained the purpose of his visit.

"Oh, come with me!" The nurse nodded and led the two through the operating room to a small room.

This room has only one small window, which is located very high. There is a small bed in the corner of the wall. There is a large iron stove in the room, and a long chimney leads out of the small window.

The nurse asked the two to sit on the small bed, and she herself moved a small stool to sit down. "I'm the owner of this clinic. My name is Hu Yue. Which of you is here to apply for a job?"

Su Nian quickly raised her hand, "It's me, I'm a student from the Medical Department of Quzhou Medical College!"

"Oh, a college student," Boss Hu looked at Su Nian and nodded. "We originally had two doctors on duty, but one of them had family matters and took a month off, so I'm looking for someone to fill in for him for a month!"

When Su Nian heard this, she felt that this job was exactly what she wanted. It would allow her to come into contact with a large number of patients, which was just right for testing her recent physical abnormalities.

"I haven't obtained any licenses yet!" Although I like this job very much, I still have to explain it clearly to my boss.

"I know," Boss Hu nodded nonchalantly. "I'm looking for someone like you who can understand medical instructions and medications. We have Dr. Xiao in the store now. He diagnoses the patients every morning. When Dr. Xiao is not around, you can just keep an eye on them!"

Su Nian understood that this was a common practice in clinics. It looked like there were two or even more doctors, but there was only one person with complete certificates and professional qualifications.

"Then how should I keep an eye on it?" Although he understood it in his heart, Su Nian still had to clarify the content of the work.

"Haha, I didn't realize you were so thoughtful," Boss Hu praised. "That's good. I like people who understand. You haven't graduated yet. If you really treat patients independently, you won't have a clue what to do, right?"

"So for the patients Dr. Xiao has been seeing, just follow his instructions. When he's not around, there are fewer patients, so just keep an eye on them. If their conditions are more complicated, send them to the hospital. As for things like colds and diarrhea, they can often be cured without medication, so just prescribe some medicine for them!"

Su Nian glanced at Chu Beichen, who nodded imperceptibly at her. "I'd also like to know, besides the salary listed in the job posting, are there any other benefits here? Can I get a day off every week?"

"You get 10% commission for treatment, but you don't have the right to prescribe medicines, so you don't get any commission," Boss Hu said bluntly. Most of those willing to come and do odd jobs are from other places. After thinking about it, she added, "If you have nowhere to go, you can live here." She pointed to the small bed by the wall.

Su Nian wanted to discuss something with Chu Beichen. After greeting Boss Hu, she pulled Chu Beichen to the door.

"Beichen, what do you think of this place?" Su Nian's eyes sparkled.

Seeing her like this, Chu Beichen understood that Su Nian was probably very satisfied with this job. He sighed, "It's okay, but I don't want you to work so hard. Just come back with me and I will support you, okay?"
