Chapter 295 Madam, someone is coming to my husband's house

More than half a month after the Qian family arrived in the provincial capital, the children began to have their winter vacation one after another.

Xu Jinfeng has five nephews and two nieces. These younger generations are all quite old. The youngest among them is his third brother's daughter, who is now eighteen years old.

His eldest brother's two sons and one daughter were already married and had children. The grandchildren that Xu's mother mentioned were basically all married and old enough to start their own families, but they were all eyeing their uncle's property covetously.

Xu's mother said that she would wait until the children had their winter vacation and then take them to the provincial capital. She was not referring to her grandson's vacation, but her great-grandson's vacation.

Xu Jinfeng's eldest grandson is already eight years old and in the third grade. His second brother's second son, Xu Hongyuan, is now twenty years old and attending university, and Xu Jinfeng pays part of his tuition.

Xu Hongchen, the son of his third brother, is 24 years old and has a high school education. He has not found any suitable job at home and is planning to come to the provincial capital to look for opportunities.

After their great-grandson who was in elementary school and their grandson who was in college had their winter vacation, the old couple of the Xu family took their two grandsons and the grandson who was looking for a job and boarded a train to the provincial capital.

They had actually informed their son and daughter-in-law in advance before coming to the provincial capital. This time, not only Qian Jinling didn't want them to come, but even Xu Jinfeng was busy with company matters and didn't want his family to come and cause trouble.

Unexpectedly, the more Xu Jinfeng said that he had a lot of things to do at home recently and asked to wait until he was done, the more his parents felt that Qian Jinling was just talking to him.

Especially the old lady of the Xu family, although she is seventy-six years old, her legs and feet are still quite nimble, so she has to come this time.

Half a month before the Chinese New Year, the old couple of the Xu family appeared at the door of Xu Jinfeng's house with their two grandsons and one great-grandson.

At the time, Qian Jinling was at home with her two daughters learning to bake cakes. She played a full-on role in her pregnancy, wearing loose, baggy clothes and tying a small cotton pad around her belly, even fooling her daughters.

Both daughters thought their mother was pregnant, and they were very sensible. They no longer hugged their mother as they used to, but protected her belly carefully.

Just like now, she bakes with her two daughters. Her daughters are afraid that she will get tired, so they let her sit aside and give instructions while the two of them are responsible for making the products.

When the nanny heard the doorbell and opened it, she saw the five people, big and small, again, but this time they were the Xu family.

The Xu family's home was closer to the provincial capital, a four or five-hour train ride away. The Xus brought their younger family members here once or twice a year, and by now, they were familiar with the place, and the nanny knew them.

After letting them in, the nanny ran into the house to inform Qian Jinling: "Madam, someone is coming to my husband's house~"

Qian Jinling's face, which had just been smiling gently, instantly fell. She unconsciously glanced at her pregnant belly, fearing that it would be exposed.

Before she could get up, the Xu family had already walked in. As soon as the family put their luggage on the ground, Old Lady Xu began to direct the nanny to work.

Compared with Old Mrs. Qian, Old Mrs. Xu has a greater psychological advantage. She feels that this is her son's home, so it is her home and she is the master of this home.

She didn't call the nanny "maid" like Old Lady Qian did: "Xiao Huang, go and clean up a few rooms for us. We're exhausted after sitting in the car all this time."

Qian Jinling signaled her two daughters to put down the tools in their hands and go with her to "welcome" their grandmother's family.

"Dad, Mom, why didn't you tell me in advance that you were coming today so that we could prepare in advance!" Qian Jinling's face reappeared with a smile, and she asked after walking into the living room, without any trace of the gloomy look she had just had.

They say mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law are natural enemies, and that's exactly what happened to Old Lady Xu towards Qian Jinling. It was originally a normal greeting, but to Old Lady Xu, it sounded like Qian Jinling was complaining about their uninvited visit.

Old Mrs. Xu snorted coldly and said, "We're coming over. We've called you several times to tell you we're coming over. You didn't take it seriously, did you?"

Qian Jinling replied with an embarrassed look on her face, "Mom, look at what you're saying. How could we possibly forget about such a big thing? I mean, you haven't decided on a specific day to come, otherwise we could have driven to the station to pick you up!"

Mrs. Xu didn't appreciate Qian Jinling's kindness and responded, "Everyone knows how to say things after the fact. You're just so clever with your words that you've fooled my son. I'm not as easy to fool as my son."

Xu Qianqian and Xu Ranran don't like their grandma and don't have a good impression of this grandmother.

She was obsessed with her grandson and didn't take her two little granddaughters seriously at all. No matter how much money Dad gave them, Grandma didn't get close to them like other grandmas did.

The good mood was ruined by a few words from Old Lady Xu. Xu Qianqian and Xu Ranran were very upset.

Seeing her mother being bullied by her grandmother, her elder sister Xu Qianqian immediately spoke up for her mother: "Grandma, my mother is pregnant now, can you please not be angry with her? My mother is always talking normally, can you please not always be so sarcastic?"

Qian Jinling was naturally happy that her daughter had vented her anger, but she still had to pretend to interrupt her daughter in time: "Qianqian, don't be disrespectful. Don't talk to grandma like that!"

Now, Old Lady Xu had something to say: "You're the only one who knows how to pretend to be nice. Isn't it all your fault that the child was raised this way?"

It seems that the conversation between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can never be on the same channel. No matter what Qian Jinling says or does, it is wrong.

Mrs. Xu hadn't mentioned her ex-daughter-in-law's good points today, which was already a way of giving Qian Jinling some face. However, it wouldn't be long before this topic would start up again.
