Chapter 78 My Heartbeat Suddenly Went Off-Pace (1/2)

The breakfast shop was busier than usual on weekends, and Yu Qiuying and Zhou Cailian were extremely busy between 7 and 8 a.m.

Fortunately, Zhou Cailian has already developed the skills, and when she gets busy, she is organized, meticulous, and thoughtful.

Moreover, she has changed a lot now, the most obvious change being that she has become more confident.

At least when facing customers, she no longer stammers and struggles to speak properly like she did at the beginning, and her eyes no longer dart away when making eye contact with customers.

However, she herself has not realized these things yet. Anyway, for her now, every day is fulfilling and comfortable, and she likes this kind of life very much.

"Hey pretty lady, give me a bowl of congee, ten steamed buns, and two tea eggs. Oh? You have fried rice today? Then I won't have the steamed buns, just give me a plate of fried rice." Another customer came in, a regular. He saw that there was a new item called fried rice on the breakfast menu on the wall and immediately ordered a plate.

"Okay, do you still want congee and tea eggs?" Zhou Cailian asked.

"Yes, yes, yes! By the way, do you still have any dried radish? I finished the ones I bought last time and I want to buy a few more bottles. Your dried radish is so delicious and goes so well with rice. My whole family loves it."

"Any more? How many bottles do you want?" Zhou Cailian was very happy because she had made quite a bit of money selling dried radishes recently.

"Give me six bottles."

"Okay." Zhou Cailian went back to the kitchen first and told Yu Qiuying to cook a plate of fried rice.

Then I went into the break room to get some dried radish.

As I came out, I saw Qin Yang coming in from outside.

She was about to greet him when she suddenly tripped.

It was the child of a female guest, a little boy who was six or seven years old.

Caught off guard, Zhou Cailian fell flat on her face.

"Ouch..." She was completely stunned by the fall.

All six bottles of dried radish were smashed, and shards of glass were scattered all over the floor.

Zhou Cailian got chili oil splashed in her eyes, her chin and both hands were scratched, and her chest was covered in dried radish and chili oil.

Qin Yang strode forward and helped her up. "How are you? Did you get any glass shards in your eyes?"

Before Zhou Cailian could answer, the female customer scolded, "Oh dear, why weren't you watching? You almost made my son fall off the stool! Honestly!"

The little boy clapped his hands and giggled nonstop, seemingly finding it very amusing.

Zhou Cailian couldn't even open her eyes; a burning pain shot through her, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She sounded a little aggrieved, "There were no glass shards, just some chili oil, it hurts so much..."

"Go wash up first." Qin Yang hurriedly helped Zhou Cailian to the toilet to clean up.

Yu Qiuying was busy in the kitchen and didn't hear the noise outside.

Only after the fried rice was cooked did she peek out and call Zhou Cailian in to take the fried rice out to the guests. Then she saw Qin Yang sweeping the floor with a broom.

She quickly turned off the stove and took the fried rice out herself. When she passed the toilet, she saw Zhou Cailian rinsing her eyes with water. She also noticed that Zhou Cailian's arms and chin were bleeding, and she was covered in dried radish and chili oil.

I only found out what happened after asking.

She took the fried rice out, and just then the woman took out her money to pay Yu Qiuying's bill.

Yu Qiuying took the five yuan she was given and said, "Comrade, your child tripped my daughter and broke all six bottles of dried radish. You have to pay for this. Our dried radish costs two yuan a bottle, so with your breakfast money, it's a total of thirteen yuan and fifty cents."

Upon hearing this, the woman immediately became displeased. "What do you mean? Are you trying to rob me? It was clearly your daughter who wasn't watching where she was going, what does it have to do with my child? He's only five years old, what does he know? Your daughter knew there were children in the shop and still didn't pay attention. I haven't even blamed her for almost making my son fall off the stool! Honestly, I came here for breakfast, paid money, and ended up having a bad time. What bad luck! Give me my change right now, I'm never eating breakfast here again!"

Yu Qiuying's face immediately turned cold. "I didn't hold it against you for your child hurting my daughter. I just want you to pay for the dried radish. Is that a problem? Your son is still young and doesn't understand. Don't you understand either?"

"You! What does your daughter's fall have to do with my child! Don't try to extort money from me, stop talking nonsense and give me my money back!" The woman glared at Yu Qiuying, refusing to admit that it was her child's fault.

A customer eating fried rice nearby couldn't stand it anymore and said, "What kind of mother are you? Your child is naughty and you still have the nerve to complain?"

"Who are you? Why are you meddling in other people's business? What's it to you if my son is naughty? Did he eat your rice?!" The woman had protruding lips and spat as she spoke.
