Chapter 28 Encounter

After experiencing Lu Hao's disaster, the two felt that a long time had passed, but in fact, only one night had passed outside the space.

At daybreak, Lu Hao accompanied Su Jin to the farmers' market. However, there were no live chickens, ducks, or livestock for sale at the farmers' market. So, they bought some live fish and shrimp, intending to raise them in the creek in their space when they got home.

Su Jin felt a surge of pressure as he looked at the massive balance on his card. He still had over 12 million left, and he had to spend it all to complete his mission. Otherwise, it would be a waste. Furthermore, he hadn't received the money from the house sale yet, and the real estate agent, Lao Jiang, had already started showing people around. He was confident the house would be sold soon.

"Lu Hao, how should we spend this money?"

Originally, it would be easy to spend it all without any problem, but now the whole family is stockpiling supplies together, and the speed and quantity are many times faster than if she were alone.

"How about we go somewhere?" Lu Hao asked with a smile.

"Where? Can I spend money?"

"Don't you want to buy live poultry? I know a place that has them."

Lu Hao recalled a village he had passed by when his team was on a mission. Almost every household there raised livestock and poultry, but due to the remote location and lack of sales channels, they all produced and sold their own products.

"Okay, okay, but do you know the way?" Su Jin expressed deep doubt to him.

"Well, with navigation, there shouldn't be any problem."

Although driver Chen led the way last time we went there, since he remembered the name of the village, he should be able to drive there. Lu Hao looked at the navigation while driving, so there was basically no problem.

Three hours later, Su Jin sadly discovered that the navigation system for the village Lu Hao mentioned was unusable, probably because it was too remote.

The path they had just driven onto was shown as "Unnamed Road" after a long time, and the two of them went around in circles and couldn't find their way.

Helplessly, the two had to stop first to see if there was anyone passing by who could show them the way.

Su Jin opened the car door and got out. He looked around and found that although they were now on a small road and the trees on the roadside looked like green belts, they were not green belts, but bushes growing naturally on the roadside.

The trees stretched endlessly into the distance, their canopies covering the horizon. So the two of them hadn't noticed before, but when they looked down along the tree trunks, they saw a steep slope like a cliff. This wasn't a path at all; it was a winding mountain road!

Why didn’t either of them notice it just now?

Su Jin suddenly got goosebumps.

Lu Hao also got out of the car. He hadn't noticed just now that he was walking on a winding mountain road.

Looking out, I saw only dense, green forests covering the hills above and below. From where the leaves were sparse, the nearby hills appeared thick with trees, a rich green. The distant hills, also covered with trees, appeared dark.

"Is this the road you used to take to go to that village?" Su Jin asked, hugging his arms with both hands.

"Well, I don't remember much. I just remember that the village was called Dawu Village and it could be found on the navigation. I thought it was okay. Sorry."

Lu Hao really felt sorry. He had said that he brought Su Jin here, but he got lost again.

"It's okay, the scenery here is pretty good, just enjoy the view."

Su Jin originally wanted to continue comforting Lu Hao, but she had been paying attention to her surroundings since just now. Just now, she felt as if a strong gaze was staring at them.

"Su Jin, something seems wrong here."

Lu Hao also noticed that since awakening his superpowers, his five senses have become much sharper, but his sense of direction is still like an impenetrable fog, blocking his mind.

The two looked at each other, quickly got into the car, and prepared to turn around and return the same way.

At this time, a figure slowly appeared in the distance, humming a tune that the two had never heard before, and seemed to be carrying a hoe on his shoulders?

Lu Hao did not start the car immediately, but waited for the figure to approach.

The figure gradually became clearer and clearer, and Su Jin breathed a sigh of relief. It was a vigorous old man, probably in his fifties or sixties. The thing on his shoulder wasn't a hoe, but a shovel?

Lu Hao opened the car door, walked to the side of the road and greeted the old man.

"Dawu Village? I know, it's this road." The old man seemed very enthusiastic. When he saw Lu Hao, his eyes lit up. He even put down his shovel, patted Lu Hao's shoulder, and pinched it twice.

"Haha, young man, you're quite strong," the old man expressed his satisfaction.

Su Jin frowned, opened the car door and got out.

The moment the old man saw Su Jin, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. Although he quickly concealed it with a smile, both Lu Hao and Su Jin saw his expression.

But why?

She had never seen this person before.

Although both of them were alert, they were still lost and the old man was the only passerby on the road, so they could only continue to ask him for information.

"Hello, sir. Do you mean that this road leads to Dawu Village?" Su Jin asked politely.

"Yes, this is the right way," the old man said confidently.

"Could you please guide me for a while?" Su Jin felt that although the old man was strange, he was an old man after all, so he temporarily let down his guard.

"It's not impossible, but you two have to promise me one thing." The old man scratched his chin, and as if he suddenly remembered something, he put his hands back behind his back awkwardly.
