Chapter 4 Trade Fairs

The next morning, Su Jin and Assistant Zhang, who came to pick them up, arrived at the branch office first.

The branch office was located in a residential building in a small community. This was Su Jin's second time there, so he didn't seem surprised. Assistant Zhang, however, did explain to Su Jin that due to the high cost of land in G Province and the fact that the branch office had just been established, the location was small, but the staffing was also simple.

Su Jin curled her lips secretly. The staff composition was quite simple, but she remembered that there was a strange female supervisor here. In a previous life, she had always targeted her at a trade show. Perhaps because Su Jin was young, beautiful, and good at foreign languages, she felt that she was being upstaged. Later, when Su Jin was translating for customers, she deliberately pretended not to understand, embarrassing Su Jin. Although the business later fell through and the strange female supervisor was demoted, Su Jin still felt annoyed when thinking about her. Anyway, she didn't intend to be in the spotlight this time, so she would avoid it if possible!

Because the exhibition was about to begin and everyone else in the branch had already arrived, Assistant Zhang took Su Jin directly to the general manager's office and introduced them. Wang Zhu, the general manager of the branch, politely welcomed Su Jin and handed her the exhibition pass he had prepared in advance.

Su Jin carefully hung the pass around his neck. He hadn't come here to waste time, but for this pass. After all, not just anyone could enter a convention center like this one in the provincial capital. Only exhibitors or companies that had received invitations were eligible.

After some pleasantries, the three of them decided to go to the exhibition together. Assistant Zhang was still driving.

Wang Zhu got in the back seat and began typing away on his work laptop. Su Jin sat beside him, not intending to interrupt him. Even Assistant Zhang wasn't as talkative as before.

At this time, a mechanical female voice came from the navigation in Assistant Zhang's car: A faster route has been found ahead, it's almost 8 minutes, do you want to change the route?

Assistant Zhang was about to click switch, but was stopped by Su Jin in the back row.

Su Jin also realized that his sudden behavior was inappropriate. Even Wang Zhu beside him stopped typing and looked at Su Jin strangely.

"Well, what I mean is that I usually don't switch when I encounter this kind of situation, because everyone uses this navigation. If everyone switches when they get here, it will only make the traffic worse." Su Jin felt extremely embarrassed, but he could only bite the bullet and explain it this way.

She couldn't say that it was because she had taken the route that was switched in her previous life that the car in front of her had a four-car pileup. Although their car was fine, they were stuck in traffic for two hours because of the accident. In the end, they arrived at the venue late and didn't even make it to the mobilization meeting.

Assistant Zhang's face turned red with self-blame.

After listening to Su Jin's explanation, although Assistant Zhang felt a little regretful that he didn't take the faster route, he still smiled and said it was okay.

The three of them arrived at the convention center smoothly.

This machinery trade fair was attended by hundreds of companies, large and small, and was divided into eight themed exhibitions. Su Jin was participating in the industrial measurement exhibition. Exhibitors of this type were primarily located in the center right of the venue.

Assistant Zhang brought Su Jin and Wang Zhu to his company's booth. At the reception desk at the entrance of the booth, Su Jin saw the slightly plump supervisor at a glance.

However, Su Jin seemed to have forgotten her name. Anyway, the slightly plump supervisor only greeted Wang Zhu when he saw the three people. Assistant Zhang, on the other hand, enthusiastically introduced Su Jin to everyone.

The mobilization meeting didn't last long. Wang Zhu simply introduced the key products and the goals set, followed by encouragement and motivation. Wang Zhu asked the slightly plump manager and Su Jin to stand together at the entrance reception desk. Only then did Su Jin learn that the slightly plump manager's full name was Wang Linda.

I have heard from people in the head office before that the main persons in charge of the branch are the "two Wangs", and it seems that they are Wang Zhu and Wang Linda.

This time, Su Jin didn't want to have any conflicts with Wang Linda. After all, he still had to sneak into the other two theme exhibitions during his break.

Wang Linda is the person who is most familiar with the products, so Wang Zhu asked Su Jin to go with her so that they can cooperate with each other when meeting foreign customers.

The morning went by peacefully, though Wang Linda initially doubted Su Jin's English proficiency. However, when they met two foreign customers, Su Jin performed flawlessly. She was also quite humble, acting as her translator. When it came to quotations and delivery, Su Jin simply passed the buck, saying she didn't know much about them.

Wang Linda was very satisfied when she saw her signature on the quotation.

It was lunchtime, and Su Jinti brought two cups of coffee and handed one to Wang Linda.

Wang Linda didn't say thank you, but just casually praised Su Jin's English as being passable.

Su Jin rolled her eyes in her heart. If she had the ability, she would just deal with it. However, Su Jin thought about the purpose of her two cups of coffee and pretended to be obedient.

"You youngsters are just too naive. You'd better listen to me obediently this month." Wang Linda was quite satisfied with Su Jin's attitude. This little girl didn't seem to pose any threat to her. However, Su Jin's next words made her feel that Su Jin was no threat to her at all.

"Sister Linda, I actually planned to stay here for only a week before leaving, because there were some urgent matters at home that urged me to go back, but I don't know how to tell Mr. Wang." Su Jin deliberately acted very embarrassed.

"What? You're going back?" Wang Linda pretended to be shocked, but her expression couldn't hide her joy. She could finally introduce her cousin to work here. In fact, Wang Linda's dislike for Su Jin wasn't entirely because she was afraid that Su Jin would steal her limelight. Before the trade fair started, she wanted to introduce her younger sister, who had just graduated with a foreign language degree. She also promised her younger sister that she would take care of it. But then Su Jin showed up out of nowhere and made her lose face in front of her family.
