During the next few days of the exhibition, Su Jin often sneaked into other exhibition halls to look for supplies to stock up.
On the third day after work at the exhibition, she took Assistant Zhang out for dinner, under the guise of treating them to a meal. In reality, they were heading to an unused warehouse in the suburbs. Su Jin had already contacted the warehouse manager and was offering to temporarily rent the warehouse for a month, paying triple the price. The one-month period was a precautionary measure, as she would have to pack up all the items she was supposed to deliver within five days.
Assistant Zhang drove to the location where Su Jin had located it. After arriving, he watched Su Jin pay the money, sign the contract, and get the key to the warehouse, but he still felt puzzled.
Su Jin looked at Assistant Zhang, who had a confused look in his eyes, and burst out laughing.
"I'll tell you the reason later. Let's go. It's my treat."
Assistant Zhang finally came to his senses and said that it was Su Jin who treated them all, and that it was Assistant Zhang who chose the place to eat. After all, he knew better which restaurant had the better food.
In the end, they chose a local restaurant that was closer to the Su Jin Hotel, and the environment was quieter and not noisy.
Assistant Zhang's full name is Zhang Chuyang. At the dinner table, he couldn't help but want to ask Su Jin several times why he rented the warehouse, but he held back and waited for Su Jin to tell him himself.
The roast goose in the restaurant that Assistant Zhang chose is simply delicious. Although the skin of the roast goose is thick, it is not greasy and has a hint of fruity aroma. When you bite it together with the tender goose meat inside, your taste buds are greatly satisfied.
Looking at Assistant Zhang across from him, who seemed to have something to say but didn't dare to speak, Su Jin felt that the food in front of him was even more delicious. Was this the legendary beauty that can be eaten with a beautiful eye?
When Su Jin was about 70% full, he decided not to keep him in suspense and told him the reason he had prepared in advance.
Su Jin told Assistant Zhang that he was planning to return to H City to open a supermarket. Since he happened to be in G Province, he would first move some goods to the warehouse and then move all the goods back before the supermarket opened.
Although she knew that the reason she made up was a bit far-fetched, she didn't expect Assistant Zhang to believe it.
"I see, so that's why you're in such a hurry to go back because your supermarket is about to open. By the way, your supermarket must be very big, otherwise you wouldn't have to rent such a large warehouse."
"It's not that big, just two floors, and can hold a lot of things." Su Jin found that he could now lie without blinking.
"So you are a rich woman. If I had known earlier, I would have taken you to a five-star hotel to treat me to dinner." Assistant Zhang made a regretful expression.
The two joked with each other for a while, and Su Jin told Assistant Zhang that he would leave him a key to the warehouse before leaving, hoping that he could help return the key to the warehouse owner.
She knew that in a month, no one would care about the warehouse key. Before then, he would leave a batch of supplies for Assistant Zhang in the warehouse, hoping that he could retrieve them smoothly. It would be a way of repaying him for saving her life in her previous life.
After the two of them finished eating, Su Jin silently wrote down the restaurant's delivery phone number. Such delicious food, of course, had to be packed up and taken home to share with everyone.
After returning to the hotel, Su Jin called the man with glasses who was selling knives, hoping that he could deliver the goods directly to the warehouse in the suburbs. Since they were in the same city and the distance was not far, the man with glasses said "no problem" several times in a row. He was kidding, how could such a small request from a customer be a problem?
With a fixed warehouse, Su Jin became even more reckless in her shopping. She ordered some rice hullers, flour mills, and even a small oil press from the grain and oil machinery section of the exhibition. She also ordered several new generators from the smart machinery section, which could generate electricity automatically as long as there was light.
This way, we can have electricity in space in the future. It’s so exciting just thinking about it.
Now, she and Lu Hao's combined money only had a little over 1 million left. Su Jin sighed, thinking that money was too easy to spend. There were still many things she hadn't bought. She remembered that Lu Hao had mentioned that he still had some money in the stock market. She thought she should let him withdraw it after returning, so that it wouldn't become a pile of waste paper after the end of the world.
Wei Xiaoyan at the booth had been looking a bit better these days than on the first day. She also wore less heavy makeup and more professional clothes, thanks to someone's guidance. Su Jin was probably taught privately by Wang Linda.
So Su Jin almost became a hands-off boss, and whenever he had free time, he would sneak over to see if there was anything to buy.
Finally it was Friday, Su Jin's last day at the exhibition. Wang Zhu, who was very busy that day, also came to the booth. Before leaving get off work, he gathered everyone together and said that since they had a day off tomorrow, the company would treat everyone to a dinner tonight.
The atmosphere at the branch office has always been relaxed, likely due to the presence of Wang Zhu, the open-minded general manager. He's quite relaxed in his management, letting employees do their own thing and instituting a reward system to encourage performance. He even has regular karaoke gatherings and dinners. Although the branch office was only recently established, its sales were comparable to those of the parent company, which owns a large factory. Su Jin believed that if the apocalypse hadn't arrived, the branch office would have surpassed the parent company's sales within a year. Therefore, Su Jin had considerable respect for Wang Zhu.
When the meeting was over, Wang Zhu specifically told Su Jin that he hoped she could come tonight.
Wei Xiaoyan, who was standing next to Wang Linda, was holding the corner of her clothes with her hands trembling slightly. She thought that tonight's dinner was to welcome her as a newcomer, but Mr. Wang didn't even mention her name. This was so unfair!
The restaurant for the dinner was a seafood restaurant close to the exhibition hall. Since it was only two blocks away, everyone walked there together.
