Chapter 6 Proposal and Marriage Registration

After Gu Yanzhi and Song Zhao arrived in D country and met up with Gu Yanlin, they packed up their purchases and left D country immediately without lingering.

Their next stop was Africa. The group traveled to several countries in Africa, buying large quantities of coal, oil, and natural gas. They would leave immediately after receiving the goods, but even so, they still attracted the attention of some people.

However, they were very vigilant, changing their clothes wherever they went and using fake identification, which is why they were not found immediately.

When the group returned to China, there were less than two weeks left before the end of the world.

Back home, the group didn't even have time to rest. They pulled out the shopping list, and seeing that everything on it had been crossed off, they breathed a sigh of relief.

Their tense nerves finally relaxed, and a feeling of exhaustion washed over them. They quickly went back to their rooms, took showers, and climbed into bed.

During the past two weeks abroad, the group worked non-stop due to the tight schedule. Coupled with concerns about their secret being exposed and constantly hiding from XZ, they didn't sleep well even when they had time to rest.

When Gu Yanzhi woke up, the room was still pitch black. She touched the spot next to her; it was still warm. Song Zhao wasn't in bed.

I yawned, sat up in bed, picked up my phone and checked the time; it was already past 2 p.m.

After sleeping for over twenty hours, Gu Yanzhi felt refreshed, all her fatigue gone. She got up and drew back the dark curtains; bright sunlight streamed in through the window, warm and comforting. Gu Yanzhi stretched and stood by the window, enjoying this rare moment of tranquility.

Song Zhao pushed open the door and came in at that moment. Sunlight shone on the girl, warm and beautiful, and Song Zhao was momentarily stunned by her beauty.

Hearing the noise, Gu Yanzhi turned around and her eyes lit up when she saw Song Zhao. She smiled. "Zhao Zhao, good afternoon."

Song Zhao laughed along, walked behind Gu Yanzhi, put her arm around her, rested her head on Gu Yanzhi's shoulder, and enjoyed the quiet time together.

"Gurgle~"

Suddenly, Gu Yanzhi's stomach growled, shattering this beautiful moment.

"Are you hungry? Go wash up and then come out to eat," Song Zhao said, somewhat annoyed. The airplane food was terrible, and Gu Yanzhi hadn't eaten much on the plane. After getting home yesterday, he went straight to sleep and hadn't eaten for almost a day and a night.

"Okay," Gu Yanzhi turned around, tiptoed, kissed Song Zhao's cheek, and then walked towards the bathroom.

After washing up, Gu Yanzhi went to the living room, where Song Zhao had already prepared the meal on the dining table.

Song Zhao served her a bowl of rice, then served himself a bowl, and sat down opposite her.

"Good morning, Sister and Brother Zhao."

"What are you eating? It smells delicious!"

After taking only two bites, Gu Yanlin yawned and emerged from his room, still half-asleep.

"Come and eat, it'll get cold soon!"

Gu Yanlin quickly brushed his teeth, rushed to the dining table, served himself a bowl of rice, and ate it with relish.

After the meal, Song Zhao brought over two large boxes, which were delivered that morning. They contained jade that his client had helped him acquire recently.

"You must have spent all your money, right?" Gu Yanzhi opened the boxes and asked, looking at the jade pieces of various sizes inside the two boxes, which numbered at least several hundred.

These jade stones are all of very good quality, mostly old mine glass-type jadeite, and even the worst are icy jadeite. With so many, they're worth at least two billion yuan.

After they finished stockpiling the goods, that was about all they had left.

“Yes, we just finished spending it all,” Song Zhao nodded in reply.

Their original plan was to use the remaining money to stockpile rare metals as living capital after the apocalypse. However, after discovering the secret of the space's upgrade potential, they decided to use the money to stockpile jade for space upgrades instead.

After all, space is the best asset for them to survive in the apocalypse.

After dinner, Gu Yanzhi and Song Zhao went out for a walk to digest their food, leaving Gu Yanlin alone at home grumbling and washing the dishes.

People have gradually moved into the neighborhood, and although there aren't many yet, it's already starting to feel lively. Children are running around on the streets, and a few couples like them are taking a stroll.

"I hope the country will believe that letter," Gu Yanzhi said softly, looking at the everyday life around him.

While abroad, the group sent anonymous emails to relevant government departments, writing about the impending apocalypse and specifying the natural disasters they would encounter.

Because they were abroad and Song Zhao and Gu Yanlin were both computer experts who had hidden their IP addresses, Gu Yanzhi wasn't worried about being discovered.

She wouldn't expose herself or her loved ones to risk; that's all she could do. Whether the country believed her or not was up to them. However, she still hoped the country would believe her; with the country's power, this time shouldn't be as tragic as her previous life.

"Yes," Song Zhao said, holding Gu Yanzhi's hand tightly to give her strength.

After saying just that one sentence, the two tacitly changed the subject, walking slowly and chatting about some trivial things.

When they reached the bottom of their building, Song Zhao suddenly knelt down on one knee, took out a ring that she had prepared beforehand, and pushed it in front of Gu Yanzhi.

"Zhizhi, marry me."

Gu Yanzhi stared blankly at the person she deeply loved before her. There were no fancy words, no romantic atmosphere. It was an ordinary day, with the simplest of sentences, but Gu Yanzhi knew she would never forget this day. These were the most beautiful words of love she had ever heard.

"Okay," Gu Yanzhi nodded firmly.

Song Zhao grabbed her hand, his other hand trembling with excitement, and slowly slipped the ring onto her ring finger.
