After leaving the ancient ruins, Su Yao, based on the information she obtained from the energy pulses, began to head towards the possible location of the next energy core. Along the way, the extreme cold showed no signs of abating; howling winds and blizzards made progress exceptionally difficult.
While traversing an icy plain, Su Yao encountered a new danger—huge fissures had appeared in the ice, these fissures were bottomless, and icy air currents would occasionally gush out from them. Su Yao used her spatial abilities to carefully leap forward between the fissures.
However, misfortune struck again when a pack of ice wolves, their bodies glowing with a blue light, charged towards her from the other side of the icy plain. These wolves were incredibly fast, running like the wind across the snow, their eyes flashing with ferocity as they locked onto Su Yao as their target.
Su Yao quickly prepared for battle. She first activated her Wind Blade ability, attacking the ice wolves at the forefront of the pack. The wind blades sliced through the air, striking the ice wolves precisely. However, to Su Yao's surprise, these ice wolves were extremely resilient, and the wind blades only left shallow scratches on their fur.
The ice wolves showed no fear and continued their charge towards Su Yao. Su Yao used her spatial ability to teleport to the side, simultaneously activating her fire ability to try and counter the ice wolves' defenses with a fire attack. Flames burned across the icy plain, forming a wall of fire that temporarily halted the ice wolves' charge.
But the ice wolves quickly found a weak point in the fire wall. They split into several small groups, bypassing the fire wall from different directions, and surrounded Su Yao again. Su Yao knew she couldn't be surrounded by the wolves. She concentrated her mind, deeply fusing her spatial and fire abilities to create high-temperature spatial vortexes, which she hurled at the ice wolf pack.
The spatial vortex exploded within the wolf pack, the intense heat and powerful energy shock severely injuring the ice wolves. Many were burned, howling in pain, their attack rhythm disrupted. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Su Yao launched an even stronger attack, finally driving back the ice wolf pack.
After a difficult trek, Su Yao arrived at a valley covered in ice and snow. According to the clues, the next energy core might be located in this valley. Thick fog filled the valley, severely reducing visibility, and Su Yao could only proceed by relying on the system's faint prompts.
Suddenly, Su Yao felt a powerful suction force coming from beneath her feet. Looking down, she saw several vortex-like traps appearing in the snow. These traps possessed powerful energy suction; being caught in them would have unimaginable consequences.
Su Yao used her spatial abilities to try and break free from the suction, but the trap's energy seemed to be interfering with her ability. Gritting her teeth and exerting all her strength, she finally escaped from the edge of the trap. Now, even more cautious, she used her spatial abilities to levitate in the air and slowly fly towards the depths of the valley.
Deep in the valley, Su Yao discovered a massive ice cave. At the cave's entrance was an energy shield, its surface shimmering with complex runes. The system notification read: "This is a defensive shield protecting the energy core; you need to decipher the rune code to enter."
Su Yao began studying the runes on the shield, discovering some similarities to those she had seen in the ancient ruins. Drawing on her previous experience, she attempted to interact with the runes using her powers, searching for a way to decipher the code.
After a long period of effort, Su Yao finally discovered the pattern in the rune code. Following the pattern, she unleashed her power; the runes on her shield began to flicker, and the energy shield gradually disappeared. Su Yao entered the ice cave, which was bitterly cold, with thick icicles covering the walls.
In the center of the ice cave stood an energy core emitting a pale blue light. Surrounding this core were several small energy devices, seemingly maintaining its stability. As Su Yao approached the energy core, preparing to try and obtain more information about it, an alarm suddenly sounded within the ice cave.
It turned out that her act of breaking the shield had triggered the defense mechanism here. The ice cave began to shake violently, and some firing ports appeared on the surrounding ice walls, shooting beams of energy towards Su Yao. Su Yao quickly used her spatial abilities to dodge, while simultaneously searching for a way to disable the defense mechanism.
While dodging, Su Yao discovered a main control device among the small energy devices surrounding the energy core. Destroying this main control device might disable the defense mechanism. Braving the energy beams, she rushed towards the main control device.
As she approached the main control unit, Su Yao unleashed her strongest fusion ability attack, successfully destroying it. The defense mechanisms ceased functioning, and the ice cave returned to calm. Su Yao walked to the energy core and began studying how to balance its energy with the previously discovered one, taking another step towards saving the apocalypse.
