Su Yao walked towards the factory covered in ice and snow. Along the way, the biting wind, mixed with ice shards, constantly assaulted her. The factory in the distance was faintly visible in the snow and ice, resembling a giant ice coffin.
As she approached the factory, Su Yao noticed a ring of electric fences surrounding it, though parts of it had been damaged by the ice and snow. She carefully avoided the still-energized areas and reached the factory gate. The gate was tightly shut and frozen solid by thick ice. Su Yao used her spatial abilities to try and find a weak point in the ice's internal structure, then used her fire abilities to melt it little by little.
Just then, the sound of machinery churning came from inside the factory. Su Yao's heart tightened, and she became more alert. As the ice gradually melted, the door opened a crack, and Su Yao squeezed in sideways.
The factory was dimly lit and filled with the smell of machine oil and rust. Su Yao had only taken a few steps when the surrounding machines suddenly started up, running wildly, their massive gears meshing together with a screeching sound. At the same time, robotic arms extended from all directions, waving towards Su Yao.
Using her spatial abilities, Su Yao nimbly moved through the gaps between the mechanical arms. She discovered that these machines seemed to be programmed with attacks, and she needed to find the control center to stop them. While dodging the mechanical attacks, Su Yao noticed a control console above the factory, emitting a faint glow.
She focused her mind, unleashing a powerful attack at the control panel using a combination of her spatial and wind blade abilities. The attack struck the control panel, halting some of the machinery, but others continued to operate. Taking advantage of the moment, Su Yao teleported towards the control panel.
As she approached the control panel, a giant mechanical spider descended from the ceiling. The spider's body was made of steel, and its legs were sharp steel blades. It sprayed streams of silk towards Su Yao, which solidified rapidly upon contact with objects.
Su Yao activated her fire ability, burning away the spider silk aimed at her. Then, she teleported beneath the mechanical spider and attacked its leg joints with her wind blade ability. After being attacked, the mechanical spider began to violently shake its body, attempting to strike Su Yao with its steel-like legs.
Su Yao skillfully dodged the attacks while continuing to strike the spider's joints. Under her relentless assault, one of the mechanical spider's legs was severed, causing it to lose its balance. Seizing the opportunity, Su Yao used her spatial abilities to reach the spider's head and plunged her weapon into the spider's core. The mechanical spider struggled a few times before ceasing operation.
Su Yao climbed onto the control panel and began to study how to completely shut down the machinery in the factory. After some trial and error, she found the master switch and turned off all the machinery.
Next, Su Yao began searching for supplies within the factory. She found a large quantity of metal materials, tools, and some spare parts in a warehouse. These were extremely useful for repairing and manufacturing equipment, and Su Yao stored them all in her spatial storage.
In another workshop, she discovered some special cold-weather materials that could be used to create gear that was warmer than ordinary winter clothing. Su Yao also found some energy cores that could provide additional energy support for her spatial abilities and supernatural powers.
However, while searching deep within the factory, she discovered a frozen cryogenic chamber. Inside the chamber was a blurry figure, and the system message read: "This may be a survivor with special abilities, but the cryogenic chamber is encrypted and requires the password to open."
Su Yao began searching for clues to decipher the code. Around the cryogenic chamber, she discovered some ancient symbols and numbers that seemed related to the code. Using the knowledge she had gained in the ruins and the system's analytical capabilities, Su Yao attempted to crack the code.
After a long period of effort, Su Yao finally found the password. She entered it, and the ice in the cryo-chamber began to melt, the hatch slowly opening. Inside was a young man with long silver hair and pale skin, surrounded by a faint halo of light.
The man slowly opened his eyes, looking at Su Yao with confusion and wariness. Su Yao explained the situation to him, and the man gradually lowered his guard. He told Su Yao that his name was Ling Yu, a powerful individual with ice-type abilities, who had been frozen here before the apocalypse, hoping to escape the disaster.
Su Yao invited Ling Yu to join her, and after a moment's thought, Ling Yu agreed. The two left the factory and, following a new system notification, headed towards their next supply depot—a research base buried under snow and ice. They had no idea what dangers and surprises awaited them there.
