Su Yao and Ling Yu rushed towards the last energy node, proceeding cautiously and constantly on guard against new dangers. They passed through a long corridor, the lights on the walls flickering as if foreshadowing unknown horrors.
When they arrived at a massive metal door, the system indicated that this was the location of the final energy node. The metal door was tightly closed, covered with strange patterns and symbols, exuding a mysterious aura.
Ling Yu stepped forward, attempting to use his ice-based abilities to break down the door, but his attack only left some shallow marks. Su Yao activated her system scan and discovered that the door required a specific password or energy fluctuation to open.
They began searching for clues around the door, and in a corner, Su Yao discovered a stone slab engraved with symbols. These symbols resembled some of the symbols on the door, leading her to suspect that this might be the key to opening it. Ling Yu and Su Yao studied the symbols on the stone slab together, and through systematic analysis and their reasoning, they finally found the way to open the door.
Su Yao touched the symbols on the door in sequence, while Ling Yu channeled ice-type energy into the door to match the required energy fluctuations. With a flash of light, the metal door slowly opened. Inside was a huge circular room, in the center of which was a pillar of energy radiating intense light—the final energy node.
However, four enormous guardian golems surrounded the energy pillar. These golems were massive, covered in hard metal armor, and their eyes glowed red. Sensing the intruder, they immediately launched an attack.
One of the puppets swung its enormous fist at Su Yao. Su Yao used her spatial ability to teleport behind the puppet and then unleashed her wind blade ability to attack the puppet's joints. However, the wind blades only managed to create sparks on the puppet's armor, causing no real damage.
Facing an attack from another puppet, Ling Yu used his ice-based abilities to create a giant ice hammer, which he smashed into the puppet. The ice hammer collided with the puppet, producing a deafening sound. The puppet only staggered back a few steps and did not suffer much damage.
Two puppets attacked Su Yao simultaneously, and Su Yao constantly teleported to dodge their attacks during the intervals between them. She discovered that although these puppets moved slowly, they were incredibly powerful, and there seemed to be some kind of energy connection between them, allowing them to coordinate perfectly.
Seeing Su Yao in danger, Ling Yu focused his mind and maximized his ice-type ability, creating countless sharp ice spikes around her. The ice spikes rained down on the puppets attacking Su Yao, and although they couldn't break through their armor, they did cause their attacks to pause briefly.
Taking advantage of the moment, Su Yao shouted to Ling Yu, "We need to find a way to sever the energy connection between them!" Ling Yu understood and began to observe the energy fluctuations between the puppets. In the midst of the fierce battle, he discovered faint energy rays flickering between the puppets.
Su Yao and Ling Yu decided to change tactics. They began moving around the puppet, looking for opportunities to attack the energy beams. In one attack, Su Yao successfully severed one of the energy beams using a fusion of spatial and wind blade abilities. The puppet, its movements slowed somewhat after the beam was severed.
Encouraged, they continued attacking the other energy beams. With the two working together, the energy beams between the four puppets were severed. The puppets' attacks became chaotic and much less powerful.
Su Yao and Ling Yu seized the opportunity and launched their strongest attack. Ling Yu used his ice-based ability to completely freeze one of the puppets, and then Su Yao used her spatial ability to teleport the frozen puppet to a distance, separating it from the other puppets. Next, they joined forces to attack the remaining puppets, and after a fierce battle, finally defeated all four.
They arrived at the energy pillar, which, now freed from the puppet's protection, had become unstable. Su Yao and Ling Yu dared not be careless; they unleashed their powers together, attacking the energy pillar. Under the powerful assault, the energy pillar exploded, successfully destroying the last energy node.
With the destruction of the last energy node, the research base's shield disappeared. Su Yao and Ling Yu began searching the base for supplies. They found a large amount of high-tech equipment, valuable research data, and enough food and energy to last them a long time. These supplies would greatly enhance their survival capabilities in the extreme cold of the post-apocalyptic world. Filled with their spoils, they prepared to leave the research base and face their next challenge.
