After sealing the black crystal, Su Yao and Ling Yu rested briefly before preparing to leave the pyramid. However, when they reached the pyramid entrance, they found that the previously open passage was blocked by a mysterious light curtain.
"What's going on? Has some mechanism been triggered?" Su Yao frowned and approached the light barrier, trying to use her spatial abilities to probe its nature. The system indicated that this light barrier was a composite energy barrier, combining ancient magic with unknown energy, and breaking through it would not be easy.
“It seems we need to find another exit or a way to break through this light barrier,” Ling Yu said. They turned and returned to the interior of the pyramid, beginning to search for clues in every corner. “This sun pattern might be the key,” Su Yao analyzed. They searched all over the pyramid for items or mechanisms related to the sun pattern, and finally found a round stone in a room full of clutter. The stone was engraved with a sun pattern similar to that in the murals.
When they brought the stone in front of the light screen, the energy fluctuations on the screen changed noticeably. But the stone alone wasn't enough; certain energy nodes on the light screen also needed to be activated in a specific order. Using the system's simulation function, Su Yao tried various combinations and finally found the correct sequence.
As the last node was activated, the light curtain flickered a few times and then disappeared. They stepped out of the pyramid, only to find that the desert environment had changed dramatically. The once scorching desert had become bitterly cold, and heavy snow began to fall from the sky. The creatures of the desert were either asleep or fleeing in panic.
"This cold is different from the extreme cold we've experienced before; it seems to be controlled by some special force." Su Yao sensed the anomaly in the air and activated her system to scan. The system detected a powerful energy source in the direction of distant snow-capped mountains, continuously releasing cold energy, which was spreading rapidly in all directions.
"We have to go and see, we can't let this cold sweep across the world again," Ling Yu said, and he and Su Yao ran towards the snow-capped mountains. Along the way, they saw many places covered in ice and snow, rivers frozen again, and plants withering in the cold.
As they approached the snow-capped mountain, they discovered a massive energy vortex above it, crackling with lightning and cascading down like a waterfall of frigid energy. Below the vortex stood a mysterious figure in black robes, holding a staff radiating blue light, chanting incantations as if controlling everything.
"Who are you? Why are you doing this?" Su Yao demanded loudly. The mysterious man in black robes slowly raised his head, revealing a pair of cold eyes. He sneered, "Do you think sealing that tiny black crystal will stop all of this? This world should be covered in ice and snow, becoming an eternal winter."
After speaking, the mysterious man in black robes waved his staff, and a series of ice arrows shot towards Su Yao and Ling Yu. Ling Yu immediately created an ice shield to defend, while Su Yao used her spatial abilities to teleport behind the mysterious man and attempted to trap him by compressing space. However, the mysterious man seemed to have anticipated this, and an energy shield appeared around his body, easily neutralizing Su Yao's attack.
"You cannot stop me. I am the master of this power of ice and snow," the mysterious man in black robes said arrogantly. Su Yao and Ling Yu knew they had encountered a powerful enemy and must do everything in their power to stop him from continuing to unleash the cold and save the world that had just recovered from extreme cold.
