Chapter 160 Frozen Harbor

After Su Yao and her group returned from Frost Snow Castle, the base's defenses and living conditions improved significantly thanks to the new supplies. However, Su Yao didn't dare to relax; her gaze turned to the distance. One day, the system sent a message: A frozen harbor on the edge of the extreme cold continent might contain a large amount of supplies left over from the Age of Exploration. Those ancient ships might hold valuable nautical charts, special metal materials resistant to seawater corrosion, and mysterious sea crystals that can be converted into energy—all of great significance to the base's development.

The three set off immediately, heading towards the frozen harbor. Along the way, the wind was biting, and snow raged, as they trudged through the icy plains with difficulty. Although Ling Yu tried his best to clear a path using his ice-based abilities, the wind and snow seemed relentless, constantly burying their tracks. The cloaked figure silently cast spells to alleviate the biting cold for everyone.

Finally, they arrived at the frozen harbor. Before them lay a silvery-white world, the ships encased in thick ice, like slumbering behemoths. Su Yao was the first to board a large ship, its hull creaking and groaning from the cold. Using her spatial abilities, she searched for supplies, finding some logbooks and tattered nautical charts in the captain's cabin. Though worn, these charts might lead to unknown resource points.

Ling Yu and the cloaked figure searched the ship's hold, finding several sealed metal barrels containing special lubricants and rust inhibitors, which would be very useful in repairing the base's machinery. Just as they were busy, the ice beneath the ship suddenly cracked, and a gigantic ice sea beast roared as it burst from the water. This whale-like beast was covered in sharp ice spikes, and each swing of its body generated massive waves that instantly froze into ice pillars, shooting towards them.

Ling Yu reacted swiftly, standing at the bow and wielding his ice sword to shatter the incoming ice pillars. The cloaked figure tossed out talismans, forming a protective barrier around the ship to block the onslaught of the ice sea beasts. Su Yao, meanwhile, ventured deeper into the ship, searching for weapons to deal with the ice sea beasts. She discovered several ancient cannons in the armory, but they were corroded by ice and snow and required repair.

Following the system's prompts, Su Yao retrieved tools and materials from her spatial storage and began emergency repairs on the cannons. Ling Yu and the cloaked figure did their utmost to restrain the Ice Sea Beast. Ling Yu infused his ice-type abilities into the seawater, attempting to freeze the Ice Sea Beast's movements, but the Ice Sea Beast's power in the sea was too great, easily breaking free from the ice's restraints.

Thanks to Su Yao's efforts, the cannon was finally repaired. She loaded it with sea crystal ammunition, which she had found in the harbor warehouse and which contained powerful energy. Su Yao aimed at the ice sea beast and fired. The sea crystal ammunition exploded on the ice sea beast, which let out a painful roar as a huge wound was blasted into its body.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ling Yu launched his strongest attack, perfectly fusing his lightning crystal core with his ice-type ability, transforming it into a massive pillar of ice and lightning that shot straight towards the Ice Sea Beast's wound. The Ice Sea Beast, severely injured, submerged into the sea and escaped.

The three breathed a sigh of relief and continued searching the other ships and warehouses in the harbor. They found a large quantity of nautical supplies such as ropes and canvas, which could be used to build temporary structures for the base and to make warm tents. They also discovered some valuable samples of sea crystal veins. Su Yao speculated that if more sea crystal veins could be found, the base's energy problem would be completely solved.

Deep within the harbor, they entered an ancient lighthouse. The lighthouse was filled with dust and cobwebs, and at its top, Su Yao discovered a massive sea crystal pearl. This pearl emitted a soft blue light, capable of illuminating the darkness and replenishing the energy of those with supernatural abilities. Su Yao stored the sea crystal pearl in her system space, her heart filled with joy.

However, just as they were preparing to leave the lighthouse, a group of ice sea monsters appeared. These ice sea monsters were graceful and beautiful, yet exuded a cold malice. They danced in the air, their songs melodious and enchanting, yet these songs contained a bewitching magic. Ling Yu and the cloaked figure gradually became confused, their eyes glazed over.

Su Yao quickly activated the system's anti-magic function, keeping her conscious. Knowing the Ice Sea Siren's song was its weapon, she used her spatial abilities to create a soundproof space, enveloping Ling Yu and the cloaked figure within. Then, she retrieved previously collected herbs with magic-dispelling properties from her system space, lit them, and the smoke filled the air. The Ice Sea Siren, smelling the smoke, sang incoherently, and their magic weakened.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Su Yao launched an attack, transforming her spatial abilities into invisible blades that slashed at the ice sea monsters. Unable to dodge in time, the ice sea monsters were all injured. Ling Yu and the cloaked figure gradually regained their senses under the influence of the herbal smoke and joined the battle. Ling Yu used his ice sword to kill the ice sea monsters, while the cloaked figure used sealing magic to seal away the injured ones.

Having resolved the crisis posed by the Ice Sea Monster, they left the frozen harbor with a bountiful harvest. On their return journey, Su Yao pondered how to utilize these nautical supplies and sea crystal resources to further develop the base. Back at the base, they categorized and organized the supplies, began researching the sea crystal energy conversion device, and began planning a new blueprint for the base's future development. Su Yao also eagerly awaited the system's next resource notification, preparing to embark on a new hoarding spree.
