Chapter 17 Telling Mom and Dad: The Secret of Space and the Horror of Zombies in the Apocalypse

Su Yao drove, the atmosphere inside the car tense and heavy. She took a deep breath and decided to explain the situation of the space and the apocalypse to her parents in detail.

“Mom and Dad, I have something even more incredible to tell you. I have a special space that can store a lot of things, like a portable warehouse, which is also the key to our coping with the apocalypse,” Su Yao said as she drove.

Her parents stared at her in astonishment, clearly finding it hard to accept this bizarre information. Su Yao continued to explain, "I know this is hard to believe, but it's true. A large portion of the supplies we've collected are stored in my spatial dimension, which will ensure we have sufficient resources for survival in the apocalypse."

After talking about the space, Su Yao's expression became even more serious: "Mom and Dad, this apocalypse is not just a simple disaster. There will be a series of natural disasters. First, there will be extreme cold. The cold will be beyond imagination. It may freeze exposed things into ice blocks in an instant. Water pipes will burst, and houses may be damaged by the cold. We must have enough warm supplies to survive."

Mom gripped Su Yao's chair tightly: "What are we going to do?" Su Yao held her mother's hand and comforted her: "Mom, don't worry, we've prepared lots of warm clothes, heating equipment, and food that can be stored for a long time."

“After extreme cold, there may be extreme heat. The high temperatures will cause the earth to crack, rivers to dry up, and the air to feel like it’s on fire. Without heatstroke prevention measures and enough water, people simply cannot survive,” Su Yao said with a furrowed brow.

From the back row, her father asked gravely, "Are these the only natural disasters?" Su Yao shook her head. "There are also torrential rains, but not the kind of torrential rain we usually see. It's like the sky has a leak, raining continuously for a long time, causing floods that submerge cities and villages, turning many places into a vast expanse of water, and destroying roads."

“Moreover, the most terrifying thing is not these natural disasters.” Su Yao’s voice trembled slightly. “There will be zombies. They were originally human, but after being infected by a virus, they became mindless monsters that only know how to attack the living. They are very strong and fast, and they will move in groups. Once you are scratched or bitten by them, you will also turn into a zombie.”

Mom and Dad's faces turned deathly pale. Mom said in a tearful voice, "How could this happen? How did the world suddenly become like this?" Su Yao gripped the steering wheel tightly: "Mom and Dad, so we must stay in the safe house and not go out easily. The safe house has defensive facilities that can protect us from zombie attacks. We should not use the weapons we have prepared unless absolutely necessary, so as not to attract more zombies."

“In the apocalypse, resources will become extremely precious. We must make good use of the resources in this space and not waste them. Rice, flour, cooking oil, and medicine—each of these could be our hope for survival. And water, we must conserve it and also find ways to collect and purify rainwater,” Su Yao earnestly instructed her parents.

“The zombies may continue to evolve, and they may become more difficult to deal with. We must remain vigilant at all times. If you hear any noise outside, do not panic. Follow our previous plan and hide in the innermost part of the safe house. That is the safest place.” Su Yao looked ahead with a firm gaze. Although she was filled with fear, she knew she had to be strong because she was her family's hope.

After listening to Su Yao's words, her parents gradually calmed down. They knew they had to trust their daughter and face this terrible apocalypse with her. The car sped along the highway, heading towards the safe house, their haven in the storm of the apocalypse.
