Su Yao was extremely anxious. In this harsh, post-apocalyptic environment, her mind was filled with thoughts of her parents' safety inside the safe house. Despite her own strength and the support of her system, spatial abilities, and supplies, the severe weather still made her journey home fraught with unknown dangers.
A howling wind, carrying scorching sand and dust, slashed the earth like countless blazing steel blades. Su Yao cast her special ability to shield her companions, struggling to move forward through this hellish landscape. The road beneath their feet was already cracked and deformed, with lava occasionally gushing out from the fissures, like the earth struggling painfully under the intense heat.
"Su Yao, this awful weather is going to destroy the world!" Looking at the devastation around them, the companions couldn't help but feel despair.
Su Yao gritted her teeth and said, "No matter what, I have to get back to the safe house and be with my parents. Everyone be careful, there are definitely more dangers along the way."
They followed the route they remembered, but the once-familiar city was now a ruin. Skyscrapers teetered precariously under the scorching heat, glass shattered, steel melted, and the air was thick with the stench of death.
As they approached the edge of the city, the system suddenly issued an alarm: "A group of high-temperature mutated creatures has been detected ahead. They are suspected to be formed by the fusion of multiple animal mutations and are extremely aggressive."
Su Yao's eyes sharpened, and she immediately ordered her companions to prepare for battle. A group of enormous, bizarre creatures slowly emerged from the ruins. Some had the heads of lions, but the bodies of crocodiles and tails covered in spikes; others were giant humanoid monsters engulfed in flames, leaving a charred footprint with each step.
"Charge!" Su Yao shouted, charging towards the mutated creatures first. She moved her hands, the elemental power granted by the crystal clusters gathering in her palms, instantly transforming into water blades that shot towards the enemy. The water blades evaporated rapidly under the high temperature, but still caused some damage upon contact with the mutated creatures, eliciting painful roars from them.
The companions were not to be outdone. Some manipulated earth elements to build sturdy earthen walls to block the onslaught of mutated creatures; others used wind elements to increase their speed, nimbly weaving through the monster horde and searching for their weaknesses to attack.
However, the power of the mutated creature exceeded their expectations. A gigantic humanoid monster of fire suddenly swung its arm, and a wave of fire swept towards Su Yao and the others. Su Yao quickly mobilized her spatial power, teleporting her companions behind the monster. Then, she fused fire and earth elements to form scorching magma balls, which she hurled at the monster's back.
During the fierce battle, Su Yao discovered that these mutated creatures seemed to be under the command of a core entity hidden in the shadows. She activated the system's detection function and quickly locked onto her target—a small mutated bat exuding a powerful dark aura. This bat was hidden high in the ruins, constantly emitting ultrasonic waves to direct the actions of the mutated creatures.
"Take care of that bat first!" Su Yao shouted. Using the power of wind, she dashed towards the bat's location like lightning. Sensing danger, the mutated bat immediately pounced, spitting out beams of black energy. Su Yao nimbly dodged the beams, while simultaneously conjuring a longsword of light in her hand, which she thrust fiercely at the bat.
After a fierce battle, Su Yao finally succeeded in killing the mutated bat. The alienated creatures, now without a leader, fell into chaos and were defeated one by one by Su Yao and her companions.
Exhausted, the group had no time to rest and continued towards the safe house. As they drew closer, the terrain became increasingly complex. Ahead lay a vast expanse of quicksand, which, under the intense heat, resembled boiling magma, constantly churning and surging.
Su Yao stopped, pondering how to traverse the quicksand. She took out some special metal tools from her spatial storage, tools she had collected during previous adventures, which could be used to stabilize the quicksand. She distributed the tools to her companions, then carefully stepped into the quicksand area.
Each step required immense effort to control their strength and avoid being swallowed by the quicksand. Suddenly, one of their companions lost his footing and sank into the quicksand. Su Yao reacted swiftly, using her spatial powers to rescue him from the sand.
"Everyone be careful, support each other!" Su Yao shouted a reminder.
After a difficult trek, they finally crossed the quicksand area. Finally, the safe house came into view. Su Yao rushed towards the safe house, her heart filled with longing and worry for her parents.
She opened the door to the safe house and saw her parents safe and sound inside. A huge weight was lifted from her heart. Her parents were overjoyed to see Su Yao return, tears welling in their eyes, and the family embraced tightly.
Su Yao knew that although she had found a safe haven in this apocalyptic world of extreme heat, danger could still strike at any moment. She had to utilize the resources of the safe house to further enhance her strength, while simultaneously exploring ways to overcome the extreme heat and protect the safety of her family and companions. In the ruins of this post-apocalyptic world, she had to hold fast to hope and face the unknown challenges ahead.
