Chapter 261 Extreme Cold Ice Blocks Resist High Temperatures

Inside the safe house, the unbearably hot air seemed to solidify. She knew they had to use the ice they had stockpiled during their adventures in the frigid lands; it was their key weapon against the extreme heat.

Su Yao strode towards the spatial storage area, waving her hands and chanting incantations. With a flash of light, huge blocks of ice slowly emerged from the space. These ice blocks emitted a chill, and in the high-temperature environment, a layer of fine water droplets quickly condensed on their surface.

"Mom and Dad, let's set up these ice blocks first," Su Yao called out. The three of them worked together to place the ice blocks in various corners of the safe house and near key ventilation channels. As the ice blocks were in place, the temperature inside the house began to drop slightly, and the stuffy atmosphere was somewhat relieved.

However, Su Yao understood that these ice blocks alone were far from enough to completely withstand the prolonged onslaught of high temperatures. Standing by the window, gazing at the world outside, distorted and blurred by the intense heat, she pondered her next plan.

"System, analyze the duration of the ice block's operation in the current high-temperature environment and whether there are other available cooling resources nearby," Su Yao silently ordered in her mind.

The system responded quickly: "At the current intensity of the high temperature, the ice can only maintain the lower temperature of the safe house for about three days. Ten kilometers to the northeast, an abandoned underground cold storage facility was detected, which may contain more insulation materials and refrigeration equipment. However, there are abnormal fluctuations in high-temperature energy in the area, suggesting the presence of dangerous organisms."

Su Yao's eyes sharpened, and without the slightest hesitation, she turned around, picked up her weapon, and prepared to set off.

"Yaoyao, it's too dangerous outside, you can't go." Her mother pulled her back with a worried expression.

Su Yao gently held her mother's hand: "Mom, if we don't go, we'll be trapped here sooner or later. I'm capable of protecting myself, don't worry."

After saying that, she put on her heat-insulating cloak, activated her supernatural shield, and resolutely stepped out of the safe house.

As soon as she stepped outside, the scorching heat hit her like a raging wave, making Su Yao feel as if she were inside a giant steamer. She activated her supernatural abilities, forming an even stronger energy shield around her body, and then sped off in the northeast direction.

Along the way, the ground was cracked, and scalding lava occasionally gushed out from the underground fissures. Su Yao carefully avoided these dangers, but her speed did not decrease at all.

As she approached the abandoned underground cold storage, Su Yao sensed a strong aura of danger. She slowed her pace, cautiously observing her surroundings. Suddenly, a gigantic fire beast leaped out from the nearby ruins, opening its blood-red maw and spewing forth a torrent of raging flames.

Su Yao flashed to the side, quickly dodging the attack. An ice blade formed from her supernatural power appeared in her hand, and she charged towards the fire beast. The fire beast's attacks were extremely fierce, but Su Yao, with her agility and powerful supernatural abilities, repeatedly dodged the flames and seized opportunities to counterattack.

Seizing an opening in the fire beast's attack, she leaped high into the air, her ice blade piercing the beast's back. The fire beast roared in pain, twisting its body wildly, trying to throw Su Yao off. Su Yao gripped the ice blade tightly, continuously channeling her inner energy into it, making the blade's light even more dazzling.

After a fierce battle, Su Yao finally managed to repel the fire beast. Without pausing, she hurriedly entered the underground cold storage.

The cold storage was pitch black and filled with a putrid stench. Su Yao activated the system's lighting function and began searching for useful supplies. Here, she found a large quantity of insulating foam panels, several small refrigeration units, and some precious coolant.

Just as she was about to store the supplies into her spatial storage, the cold storage suddenly began to shake violently, as if it were about to collapse. Startled, Su Yao quickly sped up. After storing all the supplies into her spatial storage, she swiftly fled the underground cold storage.

Back at the safe house, Su Yao immediately began using the newly acquired supplies to further reinforce and cool it down. She installed insulating foam panels on the walls and roof to enhance insulation; turned on a small refrigeration unit to work with ice to regulate the indoor temperature; and injected coolant into the cooling system to improve heat dissipation efficiency.

After much effort, the safe house's defenses and cooling capabilities were greatly improved. Su Yao and her parents sat in the relatively cool interior, their hearts filled with relief at surviving such a catastrophe. However, they also knew that the crisis of the high-temperature apocalypse remained severe, and that continued effort and struggle were needed to survive in this cruel world.
