Su Yao and her group finally arrived at the seaside, but the sight before them made their hearts sink. They walked slowly along the shore when suddenly, a group of mutated fish-men leaped out of the water. These fish-men had human-like upper bodies covered in scales and sharp fins, while their lower bodies were enormous fish tails. They wielded weapons made of fish bones and moved with extreme agility. The fish-men let out sharp cries and lunged at the group, baring their fangs and claws.
Su Yao swiftly used her ice-based abilities to erect an ice wall in front of the team, temporarily blocking the merfolk's attacks. Her father roared, instantly activating his power shield and charging towards the merfolk. Each punch unleashed a powerful shockwave, repelling any approaching merfolk. From the rear, her mother used her healing abilities to soothe the wounded team members while simultaneously directing mutated plants to emerge from beneath the beach, binding the merfolk's tails and restricting their movement.
During the fierce battle, Su Yao discovered that the merfolk's power seemed to originate from the blue crystal cores on their chests. Destroying these cores would easily kill them. Therefore, she attacked the merfolk with her ice blades while simultaneously seeking an opportunity to strike the crystal cores directly.
After a fierce battle, they successfully repelled the fishmen, but several team members were injured. Su Yao took out precious medicines from her spatial storage to heal the team members, while pondering the secrets behind the mutation phenomenon on the beach.
As they explored further, they discovered a mysterious base nestled beneath a cliff by the sea. The base's gates were tightly shut, and it was surrounded by various defensive structures and warning signs. Su Yao's system indicated that there were powerful energy fluctuations within the base, which were likely related to the apocalyptic truth they were seeking.
Just as they were about to enter the base, a mysterious dark figure appeared before them. The figure was shrouded in a black robe, obscuring its face, but a powerful, malevolent aura emanated from it.
“You fools, how dare you trespass into my territory? The secrets here are not for you to bear,” the shadowy figure said in a low, hoarse voice.
Undeterred, Su Yao stepped forward and said, "We've come to uncover the truth of the apocalypse and save this world. No matter who you are, don't even think about stopping us!"
The shadowy figure sneered and suddenly launched an attack. A powerful surge of dark energy rushed towards the group like a black tide. Su Yao immediately used her wind-based ability to try and disperse the dark energy, but it clung to them like a leech. Her father expanded his power shield to its maximum, struggling to withstand the impact of the dark energy, while her mother cast healing and buffing spells on everyone within the shield.
Su Yao knew that she had to take the initiative to break the deadlock. She focused her mind and used her mental abilities to attack the shadowy figure's consciousness. At the same time, she combined her ice and fire abilities to create an upgraded version of "Ice and Fire Storm"—"Ice and Flame Burst"—and launched a full-scale attack on the shadowy figure.
The shadowy figure hadn't expected Su Yao to launch such a powerful counterattack. After being attacked, it roared in anger, its dark energy instantly intensifying. Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, an alarm suddenly sounded within the base, seemingly indicating that their battle had triggered the base's defense mechanisms.

She took a deep breath and led her team slowly towards the gate, preparing to face the unknown challenges ahead.
