Finally arriving at the desolate city, the scene before them was chilling. Her mother commanded mutated plants to sprout from the ground, binding the zombies' legs and immobilizing them.
Continuing deeper, they discovered an abandoned experimental base. The base was surrounded by powerful energy barriers, and Su Yao's system had to work hard to crack the entry method.
Upon entering the base, a pungent chemical smell assaulted their nostrils. They saw many enormous glass containers filled with various mutating biological samples, and some strange instruments flashing their lights.
"There must be some terrible experiment going on here," Su Yao said, frowning.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded, and a group of mutants dressed in white protective suits rushed out. These mutants not only possessed immense strength and speed, but could also unleash electrical attacks.
Su Yao and her teammates immediately engaged in battle. She unleashed her wind-based abilities, increasing her and her teammates' speed to better dodge electrical attacks. The reactor was surrounded by complex wiring and various instruments, and a huge crystal core floated in its center, emanating the powerful energy fluctuations.
Just as they were about to approach the crystal core, a huge mechanical creature slowly emerged from behind the reactor. This mechanical creature resembled a spider, its entire body was made of metal, its eyes gleamed red, and its eight long legs were like sharp blades, leaving deep marks on the ground with each movement.
Su Yao knew this would be a tough battle. But to uncover the secrets of the desolate city and to prevent a potentially greater crisis, they had to rise to the challenge.
