After a brief rest at the safe house, Su Yao resolutely prepared to set off alone to find the legendary source of power that could reverse the apocalypse. She knew this journey would be fraught with peril, but for the sake of the world's hope, she did not hesitate for a moment.
Leaving the safe house, Su Yao stepped into an even colder area. Her supernatural shield remained constantly active, resisting the near-freezing temperatures. The wind cut like knives across her face, yet her gaze remained resolute as she strode towards the unknown.
Guided by the vague signal she had received earlier, she headed towards the heart of the frigid apocalypse. Along the way, she encountered many creatures mutated by the extreme cold. At one point, a pack of snow wolves covered in ice crystal spikes pounced on her. These wolves kicked up clouds of snow as they ran, moving with incredible speed. Su Yao calmly used her spatial abilities to instantly teleport onto a massive block of ice, observing the wolves' movements from above.
She retrieved an ice bow from her spatial storage, a special weapon she had found in the ruins, capable of condensing ice arrows using the power of ice elements. Su Yao drew the bow, nocking an arrow, her wind-elemental abilities aiding her shooting speed, while fire-elemental abilities imbued the ice arrow. The arrow shot forth, slicing through the frigid air and striking the lead snow wolf with flames. The snow wolf, scorched by the flames, howled in pain, its icy spikes beginning to melt. Seeing this, the other snow wolves did not retreat; instead, they charged even more frantically towards the ice block where Su Yao stood.
Su Yao continued firing arrows while using spatial teleportation to evade the snow wolves' attacks. In the fierce battle, she discovered the wolves' weak point was their bellies, where their ice crystal armor was relatively thin. Seizing an opportunity, she teleported above one of the snow wolves, then, wielding her enhanced blade, plunged it fiercely into its belly. The snow wolf instantly collapsed, and the others, seemingly sensing fear, scattered and fled.
Continuing her journey, Su Yao arrived at a valley completely covered in ice and snow. A thick fog filled the valley, severely reducing visibility. She proceeded cautiously when her system suddenly issued an alarm, alerting her to powerful energy fluctuations nearby. Su Yao immediately became alert, raising her ability shield to its maximum strength.
Just then, a gigantic figure emerged from the mist—a giant bear made of ice and snow. With each step the bear took, the ground trembled, and the chill emanating from its body nearly froze Su Yao's protective energy shield. Su Yao tried using her wind-based energy to disperse the mist so she could better observe the bear's movements.
The giant bear roared and swung its massive paw at Su Yao. Su Yao quickly dodged, but the wind pressure generated by the paw still caused her minor injuries. Knowing she couldn't fight the bear head-on, she began to move rapidly around it, trying to find an opening. During her movement, Su Yao noticed a piece of ice of a different color on the back of the bear's neck, and she guessed that might be the key.
Su Yao concentrated all her supernatural abilities and launched a powerful attack. She fused her wind, fire, and ice powers together, forming a dazzling beam of energy that shot towards the giant bear's nape. The bear sensed the danger and tried to block with its paws, but the energy beam still struck its nape. The bear let out a deafening roar, and cracks began to appear in its body. Su Yao pressed her advantage, launching several more attacks until finally, the giant bear collapsed, turning into a pile of ice and snow fragments.
Having overcome the trials of the valley, Su Yao was one step closer to the heart of the apocalypse. Her body was utterly exhausted, but her unwavering belief sustained her. On a vast, white ice plain, she discovered some strange ice pillars, covered in ancient runes. Su Yao approached the pillars, and the system began automatically scanning the runes, attempting to decipher their meaning.
As the scan continued, Su Yao learned that these runes were clues left by predecessors regarding the source of a mysterious power. They mentioned that at the edge of the icy plains lay an ancient castle sealed by ice and snow, and within the castle lay a hidden passage to the source of the power. Su Yao was overjoyed. She looked towards the end of the icy plains; although she couldn't see the castle, she now had a new target.
She quickened her pace, leaving a trail of deep footprints on the icy plain. However, the closer she got to the edge of the plain, the worse the weather became, with a raging blizzard seemingly trying to stop her. Su Yao braved the blizzard, struggling forward, her figure appearing so lonely in the vast white world. But her eyes remained resolute, for she knew she bore the mission of saving the world, a mission that allowed no retreat.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, during a break in the blizzard, Su Yao finally saw the outline of the ancient castle. The castle stood tall and majestic, covered in thick snow and ice, like a sleeping behemoth. Su Yao took a deep breath and walked towards the castle. A new challenge awaited her, and she was ready.
