Su Yao paused briefly in the safe house to share her detailed experiences and the supplies she had gathered during the trip before preparing to set off again. She knew that the mysterious source of power she had found was just the beginning, and there was still a long way to go to truly change this extremely cold apocalyptic world.
She bid farewell to the survivors in the safe house and stepped alone into the icy wilderness. The howling wind continued, as if playing a battle hymn for her departure. Su Yao headed in an unexplored direction, where, according to the system's prompts, other clues related to the apocalypse might lie.
She hadn't walked far when she arrived at an area of frozen lake shrouded in thick fog. The ice here had an eerie deep blue color, as if it concealed endless secrets.
Su Yao continued towards the ancient temple, the journey becoming increasingly treacherous. The extreme cold seemed to freeze her very soul, and each step required a significant expenditure of her supernatural energy to maintain her body temperature. Along the way, she encountered many ruins, mostly buried under ice and snow, which seemed to silently recount the glory before the apocalypse.
While traversing an ancient battlefield ruin, Su Yao's system suddenly detected a strong energy fluctuation. She stopped and cautiously looked around. Amidst the broken ice and snow on the battlefield, some faint lights flickered. These lights gradually coalesced into the shapes of ancient warriors, clad in ancient armor, wielding various weapons, their eyes empty yet filled with killing intent.
Su Yao gripped her weapon tightly, preparing for the impending battle. The souls of these ancient warriors seemed bound by some force; upon spotting Su Yao, they surged towards her like a tidal wave. Their movements were perfectly synchronized, as they swung their weapons at her.
Su Yao used her spatial abilities to teleport to the edge of the battlefield, then activated her wind abilities, creating a gust of wind among the ancient warriors in an attempt to scatter them. However, the warriors' souls were unaffected by the wind; they quickly adjusted their direction and continued their attack on Su Yao.
Su Yao frowned deeply; she knew she had to find a way to defeat these soul warriors. While dodging their attacks, she noticed that whenever the soul warriors approached a giant ice sculpture in the center of the battlefield, their forms became more solid, and their attacks more ferocious. Su Yao guessed that the ice sculpture might be the key to controlling these soul warriors.
She began to approach the ice sculpture, using her spatial and fire abilities to repel the approaching soul warriors along the way. As she drew nearer, a powerful suction force suddenly emanated from the ice sculpture, pulling her towards it. Su Yao steadied herself, simultaneously gathering her powers at her feet to prevent being completely sucked in.
She carefully examined the ice sculpture and discovered some runes engraved on it that were similar to those on the crystal pillar in the frozen lake. Su Yao realized that these runes were for controlling souls.
As Su Yao stepped into the temple, an ancient and mysterious aura enveloped her. The interior of the temple was even more vast than it appeared from the outside, with countless shimmering gems embedded in the walls, making the entire space appear dreamlike and ethereal.
At the very center of the temple stood a massive circular altar, upon which rested a suspended, crystal-clear sphere. Light seemed to flow within the sphere, as if it contained the secrets of the entire world. Su Yao sensed that this sphere was the key to changing the fate of the world that she had come to find.
However, just as she approached the altar, the surrounding light suddenly intensified, and a majestic voice echoed within the temple: "To obtain the power of this world, you must prove yourself qualified." As soon as the words were spoken, phantoms surged forth from every corner of the temple. Some of these phantoms were humanoid, while others were strange creatures, each radiating a powerful aura.
Su Yao understood that this was the final test. She quickly assumed a fighting stance, her supernatural power surging within her. The phantoms launched an attack instantly, various elemental forces raining down on Su Yao. Su Yao used her spatial abilities to nimbly weave through the attacks, while simultaneously using her wind-based abilities to create a barrier, blocking some of the assault.
One of the humanoid phantoms, wielding a flaming longsword, slashed fiercely at Su Yao. Su Yao raised her weapon to meet the attack, and the sword clashed with a crisp sound. She could sense that the phantom's power was immense; each attack carried the force of an overwhelming tidal wave. Su Yao dared not be careless. She fused her fire abilities with a mysterious power, amplifying her weapon's attack power, and engaged in a fierce battle with the phantom.
While fighting this phantom, other phantoms also surrounded her from all directions. Su Yao dealt with the attacks from the flaming sword phantom while keeping an eye on the movements of the other phantoms.
