Chapter 80 White Mist Ghost

As Su Yao ran towards the safe house, the disaster on the icy plains pursued her relentlessly like the footsteps of a demon. The black slime spread faster and faster, turning the earth black and emitting a pungent odor wherever it went, as if the apocalypse was letting out its final roar.

Suddenly, a thick white fog appeared ahead. Su Yao's system issued a warning, alerting her to unknown dangers lurking within the fog. But the threat behind her left her no choice but to grit her teeth and plunge into the fog.

Upon entering the white mist, Su Yao felt her vision severely obstructed, the surrounding temperature plummeted, and even the mysterious power within her body began to malfunction. Moreover, it seemed that some force within the white mist was interfering with her supernatural perception, making it impossible for her to accurately determine direction.

Just then, Su Yao heard a faint whisper, the sound echoing in her ears, as if luring her in a certain direction. She stopped warily, trying to find the source of the sound, but she could see nothing but white light all around her.

As the whispers grew clearer, Su Yao felt an invisible force pulling at her body. She steadied herself, gathering her mysterious power at her feet to fight against the pulling force. At the same time, she tried to use her fire abilities to dispel the surrounding white mist, but the flames were extinguished by a cold force as soon as they appeared.

During the standoff with this force, Su Yao noticed some indistinct figures moving within the white mist. These figures gradually became clearer, revealing themselves to be a group of pale-faced ghosts dressed in white robes. The ghosts' eyes were empty and lifeless, yet they stared intently at Su Yao, muttering strange whispers incessantly.

Su Yao knew these ghosts were difficult to deal with, so she gripped her weapon, preparing for battle. The ghosts began to slowly approach her, their bodies passing through the white mist without making a sound. As the ghosts drew nearer, they stretched out their hands, attempting to touch Su Yao. Each touch sent a chill through Su Yao, as if her soul were being eroded by cold.

Su Yao used her spatial abilities to evade the ghosts' attacks, but these ghosts seemed able to track her teleportation trajectory. She tried attacking the ghosts with wind-based abilities, but the wind blades passed through their bodies without causing any damage. Su Yao realized that conventional attack methods were ineffective against these ghosts; she had to find a new strategy.

While dodging the ghostly attacks, Su Yao noticed that the ghosts' forms became more solid when they passed through certain locations in the white mist. She guessed that these locations might be energy nodes in the white mist, and perhaps destroying these nodes could dispel the ghosts or weaken their power.

So, Su Yao began searching for energy nodes within the white mist. While dodging the ghosts' attacks, she kept a close eye on the changes in her surroundings. Finally, she discovered an ice crystal emitting a faint glow. The white mist around the ice crystal swirled, indicating this was an energy node.

Su Yao charged towards the ice crystal, and the ghosts, sensing her intention, swarmed around her. Su Yao concentrated, fusing her mysterious power and fire abilities to create a powerful fireball that blasted towards the surrounding ghosts. The ghosts were temporarily repelled by the fireball, and Su Yao seized the opportunity to reach the ice crystal, shattering it with her weapon.

As the ice crystals shattered, the surrounding white mist began to dissipate, and the ghosts let out painful screams as their figures became blurred. Su Yao pressed her advantage, continuing to search for and destroy other energy nodes. After destroying several energy nodes, the white mist finally dissipated completely, and the ghosts vanished without a trace.

Su Yao had no time to rest; she continued her journey towards the safe house. At this moment, she could feel the danger on the icy plains behind her intensifying as the white mist dissipated, as if urging her to quicken her pace. Ahead, the outline of the safe house was becoming increasingly visible. Su Yao gritted her teeth and sprinted towards that last glimmer of hope.
