Chapter 86 White Mist Obscuration

Su Yao ran frantically towards the safe house, her heart pounding like a drum, each step kicking up snowflakes on the icy plain. However, the icy plain seemed unwilling to let her go so easily. After the white mist dissipated, the once calm sky suddenly turned pitch black, and amidst the churning clouds, streaks of purple lightning struck down like wildly dancing pythons.

Lightning struck the ice field, blasting massive blocks of ice into the sky before hurtling towards Su Yao like meteorites. She hurriedly used her spatial abilities to traverse between the ice blocks. But the lightning attacks became increasingly intense; a huge block of ice grazed her shoulder the instant she teleported, the powerful impact sending her sprawling to the ground.

Su Yao endured the pain and got up, continuing to run. At this moment, the ground began to shake violently, and huge cracks spread across the icy plain like hideous wounds. Black smoke spewed from the cracks, and within the smoke, some dark shadows with sharp teeth and claws could be vaguely seen struggling.

"I can't stop!" Su Yao gritted her teeth and sped up. The mysterious power within her was already somewhat exhausted from the intense consumption, but she knew that once she stopped, she would be completely swallowed up by this icy plain.

Suddenly, a wide, bottomless ice crevasse appeared ahead, with a biting wind howling from its depths. Su Yao braked sharply, searching for a way to cross. Just then, the icy wind at the bottom of the valley transformed into icy wolves, which climbed up the valley walls and pounced on Su Yao.

Su Yao turned to face the enemy, maximizing her fire power to create a wall of fire. The Icewind Wolves charged into the wall of fire, howling in pain, but their numbers were overwhelming, and they kept attacking. Taking advantage of the situation, Su Yao retrieved some simple explosive devices from her spatial storage and threw them at the pack of Icewind Wolves.

An explosion rang out among the wolf pack, blasting the Icewind Wolves to pieces. Taking advantage of the brief respite, Su Yao spotted an iceberg connected by an ice bridge in the distance, and it seemed that a path leading to the safe house could be found on the other side of the iceberg.

She ran towards the ice bridge, but cracks began to appear the moment she stepped on it. Su Yao dared not linger; she rushed across before the ice bridge broke.

As soon as Su Yao arrived at the ice mountain, she heard a muffled rumbling sound. Turning around, she saw a colossal ice beast emerging from the icy chasm. The beast's body was as large as a mountain, and every step it took caused the ice field to tremble. It opened its blood-red maw and spewed a stream of extremely cold air towards Su Yao.

Su Yao quickly hid behind a huge rock on the iceberg, the frigid air freezing everything around her. She knew she had to get rid of the beast as soon as possible. She searched the area around the iceberg for usable terrain and found an ice cave.

Su Yao entered the ice cave, its interior a complex maze. She ran through it, the sounds of massive beasts crashing against icebergs echoing behind her. Deep within the cave, she discovered ancient runes, shimmering with light and seemingly possessing some kind of power.

As Su Yao approached the rune, it suddenly released a powerful energy that enveloped her. She felt her body become lighter, and the next moment, she found herself on the other side of the iceberg, just a step away from the safe house.

She sprinted towards the safe house, but just as she was about to reach it, a giant icy hand burst forth from the ground, blocking her path. A resolute glint flashed in Su Yao's eyes. She gathered all her strength into her weapon and slashed fiercely at the icy hand.

With a deafening roar, the icy hand was severed, and Su Yao rushed into the safe house. The door closed behind her, shutting out the disaster on the icy plains. Leaning against the door, Su Yao gasped for breath. She knew this was only temporary safety, but at least she had survived.
