After resting briefly in the shelter, Su Yao waited for the howling storm to subside before preparing to set off again. She carefully examined the supplies she had found, storing some useful items into her spatial storage, and then opened the hatch.
The outside world was a scene of devastation. Deep ravines had been carved into the ice field by the storm, and the already sparse vegetation had vanished, leaving only bare ice. Su Yao stepped out of the cabin, and the cold air rushed towards her again. She wrapped her clothes tighter and followed the system's guidance toward an old factory where there might be supplies.
Along the way, Su Yao saw many creatures that had died in the storm, their bodies covered in ice and snow, some still in a struggling posture. She felt a pang of sorrow and quickened her pace.
As she approached the old factory, Su Yao noticed a faint energy barrier surrounding it. The system notification read: "Unknown energy protection detected; potential danger." Su Yao stopped and carefully examined the barrier, trying to find a way to break through it.
After some searching, she discovered a slightly weaker area of energy fluctuation near the ground within the barrier. Su Yao used her spatial abilities to carefully pass through this weak point and enter the factory.
The factory reeked of a pungent chemical odor, and dilapidated machinery and scattered parts were everywhere. Su Yao turned on the lighting system and began searching for supplies. In a corner, she found several sealed metal boxes. Just as she was about to open them, the surrounding machines suddenly hummed and began to operate on their own.
Su Yao cautiously looked around, only to see mechanical arms reaching out from all directions, their ends tipped with sharp blades and claws. Su Yao used her spatial abilities to dodge the mechanical arms' attacks, while simultaneously activating her wind blade ability to sever the approaching mechanical arms.
But more robotic arms attacked from different directions. Su Yao scrambled through the factory, searching for the control center of these arms. In the center of the factory, she spotted a huge control panel with various indicator lights flashing on it. Su Yao guessed that this was the key to controlling the robotic arms, and she rushed towards the control panel.
However, on her way to the control panel, she encountered several enormous mechanical golems. These golems were huge, made entirely of metal, and their every step shook the ground. They swung their massive fists at Su Yao, who used her spatial abilities to teleport behind them and attacked their joints with her weapon.
However, the puppet's metal shell was extremely hard, and Su Yao's attacks could only leave shallow marks on it. The mechanical puppet turned around and launched another attack. While dodging, Su Yao noticed that the puppet's movements were slightly sluggish. She had a flash of inspiration and used her spatial abilities to move quickly around the puppet, creating multiple illusions to confuse it.
The puppets, distracted by the illusions, became disorganized in their attacks. Su Yao seized the opportunity, concentrating her power to unleash a fusion attack of her fire and wind blade abilities, slashing fiercely at the puppet's leg joints. After several consecutive strikes, one of the puppets' leg joints was destroyed, and it collapsed with a crash.
Using the same method against the other puppets, Su Yao finally broke through their defenses and reached the control panel. She analyzed the control panel's operation using the system and attempted to disable the robotic arm's attack program. After a tense struggle, the robotic arm finally stopped operating.
Su Yao returned to the metal boxes, opened them, and found some valuable electronic components and special tools inside. These items were extremely valuable in the apocalypse and could be used to repair and upgrade equipment.
Just as she was happily collecting supplies, heavy footsteps echoed from deep within the factory, as if something enormous was approaching. Su Yao's nerves tightened again; she braced herself for battle, her eyes fixed on the direction from which the sound came.
As the footsteps drew closer, a colossal figure came into Su Yao's view. It was a gigantic monster pieced together from various mechanical parts, its body covered in guns and spikes, its head adorned with a pair of glowing red eyes that glared menacingly at Su Yao. Su Yao took a deep breath, knowing this was about to be a difficult battle.
