Su Yao and Ling Yu dragged their exhausted bodies across the sea-crossing bridge. The fierce battle with the frost behemoth had nearly drained their strength, but the will to survive drove them to continue searching for supplies.
The bridge was a scene of devastation, with vehicles overturned and some still belching black smoke from the wreckage. They searched carefully through the wreckage, hoping to find something useful. "Looks like another tough battle is coming." Su Yao clenched her fist, her spatial abilities subtly fluctuating around her. Ling Yu, on the other hand, quickly conjured an ice wall in front of him, preparing to defend against the snow beast's attack.
The snow beasts fanned out to surround them, their growls echoing throughout. The largest snow beast in the lead launched the first attack, leaping high into the air and charging towards the ice wall. Ling Yu increased the thickness of the ice wall; the snow beast crashed into it, creating several cracks, but it still managed to withstand the attack.
Seizing the opportunity, Su Yao activated her spatial wind blades. Several wind blades pierced through the cracks in the ice wall and flew towards the snow beast horde. The wind blades tore through the fur of several snow beasts, causing them to howl in pain. However, this did not deter them; instead, they charged forward even more frantically.
Ling Yu changed tactics, transforming the ice wall into countless ice spikes and shooting them at the snow beast horde. The ice spikes rained down, piercing several snow beasts and causing them to fall to the snow. However, the snow beasts were numerous, and they quickly broke through the ice spike defense, rushing towards Su Yao and Ling Yu.
Su Yao and Ling Yu stood back to back, engaging the snow beast in close combat. Su Yao skillfully dodged the snow beast's attacks using spatial teleportation and launched attacks from behind. Ling Yu, on the other hand, used his ice-based abilities to transform his hands into sharp icy claws, directly confronting the snow beast; each swing of his claws left deep wounds on its body.
During the fierce battle, Su Yao noticed that these snow beasts seemed to be following some kind of unified command; their attacks had a certain rhythm and coordination. Upon closer observation, she discovered that the leading snow beast was constantly emitting low roars from behind, as if directing the battle.
"Ling Yu, attack the largest snow beast!" Su Yao shouted. Ling Yu understood. He gathered all his strength, forming a giant ice spear in his hand, and hurled it towards the snow beast. The ice spear, carrying immense power, sliced through the air as it flew towards the snow beast.
The great snow beast sensed the danger and tried to dodge, but the ice spear was too fast. It pierced the snow beast's abdomen, and the beast let out a mournful cry before collapsing to the ground. Seeing their leader wounded, the other snow beasts panicked.
Su Yao and Ling Yu seized the opportunity and launched their final attack. They unleashed their strongest abilities, repelling all the remaining snow beasts. The battle left them battered and bruised once more, but they had no time to rest, continuing their advance towards the mountain fortress, where their hope for survival lay.
