Chapter 318: Almost Injured

Commander Wen had beads of sweat dripping down his forehead along the way. These were all the result of his hard work. Now being robbed was like the meat in his mouth being snatched away by someone else. How could he bear this? However, he was so anxious at this time that he didn't realize that there were still many loopholes.

That was why no one had come to inform him in the morning, and how could his research institute be found since it was so hidden. However, at that moment, his thoughts were all on the research institute, so he didn't think too much about it.

Gu Ying and the others had been quietly waiting near the research institute for Commander Wen's car to arrive.

Half an hour after Commander Wen left the base, Shangguan Wan and his men caused a stir in the base.

Shangguan Wan and Han Lie acted separately, each leading a team to capture the soldiers in the base. Only by controlling them first can they avoid disturbing the survivors in the base and thus avoid causing public outrage.

Han Lie moved nimbly between every station in the base. When he went upstairs, Han Lie concealed his breath and took the lightest steps. With the addition of Shangguan Wan's spiritual energy, he was basically like a cat, making no sound when he landed.

Crouching, he inched his way to the highest observer. He immediately stood up and, as the observer turned, struck him unconscious with a single blow. He reached out and caught the falling body, signaling for someone to come up and tie him up. He then stood at the highest point, commanding the Red Eagles, silently dispatching the base's soldiers one by one.

It wasn't always flawless; there were some, but the moment they called out, they were surrounded by two Red Eagle members, one covering their mouths while the other knocked them unconscious. Then they were tied up. This year's training really paid off in that moment.

Han Lie saw Shangguan Wan effortlessly following each soldier, knocking them unconscious with a single blow before they could react. He subconsciously moved his neck. She was now capable of killing without alerting anyone. If she had a knife, the soldiers here would have been silenced without even realizing it.

Shangguan Wan seemed to feel Han Lie's gaze and glanced at him. Her eyesight had been getting better and better since she entered level six. Even though she was hundreds of meters away, she could still see the smile on Han Lie's face.

It was a look of appreciation and praise.

Just when Shangguan Wan was about to smile back at him, she saw Han Lie's expression suddenly change. She turned around and without thinking, stabbed the ice knife in her hand directly into a soldier behind her who was about to attack her.

The soldier was still holding a knife in his hand, with the blade pointing at Shangguan Wan, but he didn't expect Shangguan Wan to react so quickly. He looked down at the transparent, crystal-clear, reflective ice knife that was inserted into his abdomen, and watched in disbelief as his blood flowed along the ice knife to the ground. Just as he was about to shout, Shangguan Wan had already knocked the man unconscious with a blow.

Looking back, he could not find Han Lie on the high ground. He was startled and when he was about to look for him, he fell into a warm embrace. "You scared me to death," Han Lie said, his voice still hoarse from the shock. He anxiously looked Shangguan Wan up and down to see if she was injured. No one could imagine his mood at that moment. He felt like he was about to hit the bottom and was in darkness. But when he saw Shangguan Wan's counterattack, he didn't care about the high wall and jumped down from it. He ran over and hugged her in his arms.

There was no way he could be separated from her. Even though he knew her abilities, he still didn't want her to get hurt in the slightest.

"I'm fine, hurry up, this isn't the time to make a scene." Shangguan Wan took in the situation and decided it was too late to speak, or else something would go wrong. This was a critical moment, and they hadn't even reached the innermost part of the base yet, and how could they relax until they had rescued their grandfather and parents?

"Be careful." Han Lie kissed Shangguan Wanfei on the lips, then reluctantly parted ways. He quickly returned to his seat, keeping an eye on everyone's movements. He also silently gestured to tell them where people were and where they were not. They also moved in silence.

Look at the lone eagle here.

Just as Shangguan Wan had said, they hadn't been lying in ambush for a while when they saw five military off-road vehicles parked at the institute's entrance. Lone Eagle remained motionless, watching Commander Wen hurriedly approach the institute. Lone Eagle gestured to the people around him, threatening to arrest them when they entered or left.

As soon as Commander Wen got out of the car, his legs trembled, because the research institute had turned from white to black. It was burned by Shangguan Wan.

Burn all those little white mice to death.
