Han Lie naturally understood Shangguan Wan's intentions. She was worried about him. She had witnessed his plight both times, and he hadn't missed the way Shangguan Wan's eyes suddenly turned an unusually crimson red when she saw his injuries. It wasn't just bloodshot red, but it was like she had become a different person, bloodthirsty. That look worried him. He had a feeling that the coma was related to this, and he knew that the source of the crimson red was him.
I wanted to persuade her, but I also knew Shangguan Wan was persistent. Alas~ Han Lie took a deep breath and sighed helplessly.
"Let her go with us tomorrow, and we two will protect her."
"The two of us protecting her? She's protecting the two of us, right?" Dongfang Shuo mocked Han Lie, his eyes full of disdain.
"Yes, she protected us, not just the two of us, but our entire team. Every time she's there, danger is averted, and she's usually the one who gets hurt." Han Lie lowered his eyes, hiding the gloom within, heartache spreading. Every time he was hurt, she protected him. He really was such a wimp. He'd rather be strong enough to protect her, but he didn't want her to be strong enough.
Because a strong woman proves the failure of the man. If a woman is so strong that she doesn't need protection, then what is the use of a man?
But he still wanted to hold her, who was so strong, in his arms and protect her.
The next morning, Han Lie, Shangguan Wan and others showed up at the gate of the base on time and gathered. They looked at the six military vehicles lined up in a neat row. From one side, it looked like there was only one vehicle parked there. It was obvious that it was parked by the Red Eagles, as even the parking was so standardized.
"At ease, stand at attention!" Han Lie, dressed in a military uniform, exuded a chilling and murderous aura. He stood before everyone with a righteous aura, his voice clear and cold.
"Swish, swish, swish," the movements were in perfect unison. Everyone stood in their positions neatly, looking at Han Lie solemnly, waiting for the next words.
"At ease," Han Lie's voice was deep and mellow.
"Brush" is another neat action.
"I believe Lone Eagle has already given us our mission yesterday. I won't go into detail about the mission itself, but the main thing is to leave a mark and let other survivors know of our presence so they can find us. The base is fully open to anyone and will provide them with food, aid, and everything else they need. Do you understand?"
"clear."
"be safe."
"yes"
"Let's go." Han Lie waved his hand and got on the Hummer first. After watching everyone get in the car, Han Lie drove the Hummer in front to lead the way.
The reinforced Humvee had its entire front covered in sharp, triangular steel plates. Pointing outward were sharp spikes, and beneath them was a push plate, wider than the Humvee itself. It was designed to push the impaled zombies out of the way. Just because the Humvee could pass didn't mean the military vehicles behind it could. Without pushing aside the pile of zombies, a battle would inevitably ensue if the vehicles behind got stuck. Now, with the Humvee leading the way, their path was much smoother. The vehicles behind them also had a smooth path.
As for the Hummer in the front, it is not so flat.
The Hummer was moving forward in a shallow and deep situation. As soon as it left the base gate, the zombies immediately surrounded the front of the Hummer. Han Lie could only step on the accelerator and use the speed of the car to push the zombies forward.
Black barbs pierced the zombies blocking the car's path through their abdomens. The barbs, as thick as an arm, pierced the spine, the sole support of the body, at the speed of the car. The bones on the spine fell straight from the skin, a single, black bone. After rolling on the ground with a thud, Han Lie was trampled by the zombies behind him. He stepped on the accelerator to the floor. The Hummer hummed, black smoke billowing from the exhaust pipe. The distance between the Hummer and the second car immediately opened up. The car behind caught up.
A female zombie with a mouth full of dark red blood suddenly climbed onto the Hummer. Her long golden hair hung on the hood of the car. Her pale skin was bloodless except for a dark black bloodstain on her mouth. She was kneeling on the engine with her legs, her right hand holding the wiper, and her left hand, with a black mark, hit the glass facing Shangguan Wan.
Shangguan Wan looked coldly at the zombie lying in front of the car, without any fluctuation in her heart. In this world, it is destined to be unfair, so it is either you die or I die, so my choice is that you die.
