Ye Wei carefully fed the old lady some water. As soon as she finished drinking the water, her stomach started growling. It seemed that she was hungry.
"I haven't had time to eat breakfast today."
The old lady explained embarrassedly, and Ye Wei went to the cafeteria to buy porridge and fed her mouthful by mouthful.
It was already one o'clock in the afternoon when Ye Wei finished all this. She was starving. When she realized the time, she found that she had been out for several hours and had not even said hello to her sister.
"Grandma, I sneaked out. I have to go back now, otherwise my sister will worry."
Ye Wei was about to leave in a panic, but the old lady quickly stopped her.
"Little girl, where do you live? How much did it cost to send me to the hospital? I have to pay you back."
Ye Wei reported an address and ran out. She thought about it and came back: "Grandma, I'll go say hello to my sister and see if I can come over to take care of you in the evening."
The old lady was feeling a little disappointed, but her mood brightened instantly after hearing what she said.
Regardless of whether people can come or not, it’s good that the girl has this intention.
Ye Wei trotted all the way to the store and saw her sister still directing everyone to work, having not noticed her leaving at all. Ye Wei patted her pounding heart and breathed a sigh of relief.
Xiaohuo squeaked excitedly when she saw her come back, and only then did Ye Jin realize that her sister was not there.
"Weiwei, where did you go alone?"
"Sister, I just saved an old lady. I want to go see her this afternoon. Is that okay?"
"Where does this old lady live? What happened to her? Why does she need a little girl like you to save her?"
Ye Jin asked several questions in a row, and Ye Wei was confused. She thought for a long time before answering them one by one.
"I walked straight past that wall. The old lady had a heart attack and no one else was home. It was an emergency. If I hadn't saved her, she would have died!"
Ye Wei was afraid that her sister would think she was disobedient, and she was so anxious that tears came to her eyes.
Ye Jin hugged her in his arms and wiped away her tears.
"I'm not blaming you, but you should tell me before you go out to play, and you should discuss this with me if you encounter anything like this. I already know who the old lady you mentioned is. If you want to go see her this afternoon, go ahead. You can go any of these days."
Ye Jin didn't know if doing this could reconcile the conflict between them, but the old man was indeed pitiful. An elderly widower with a heart disease could not do without someone to take care of him.
"Thank you, sister. I will tell you the first time if anything happens next time. I was wrong this time."
Her sister didn't blame her, but encouraged her. Ye Wei felt sweet in her heart and a bright smile bloomed on her face.
Ye Jin took the workers to have lunch and urged them to work in the afternoon.
Ye Wei said hello to her sister and went back to the hospital. The old lady was very happy to see her.
This continued for the next few days until the old lady was discharged from the hospital.
Ye Jin accompanied her sister to the hospital. As soon as Ye Wei reached the door of the ward, she greeted the old lady enthusiastically: "Grandma, I'm here again. The doctor said you can be discharged today."
"Weiwei girl, you came really early today, even earlier than me, an old lady."
The old lady raised her head with a smile on her face, and saw Ye Jin following Ye Wei. Her expression immediately changed.
"Why are you here too? You're not welcome here!"
Ye Jin approached her with a purpose. Although the girl was young, she was efficient and effective, and spoke in an organized manner, which left a deep impression on her.
"Grandma, I'm here with my sister to pick you up from the hospital. My sister said she saved an old lady, and the old lady is going to be discharged today. She can't handle it alone, so she asked me to accompany her."
Ye Jin gave a simple explanation, and the old lady's expression softened.
But this was just too much of a coincidence. She had just had a heart attack and the little girl Ye Wei saved her, and this little girl was Ye Jin's sister.
If she hadn't spent a few days with the little girl and knew her innocent character, she would have thought that the two sisters had conspired to deceive her.
"Grandma, did you know my sister before?"
Ye Wei tilted her head and asked curiously, but the old lady didn't know what to say.
"I met her once, and something unpleasant happened. I didn't expect she was your sister."
"Grandma, my sister is a very nice person and treats me very well. If you are willing to spend time with her, you will definitely like her."
Ye Wei quickly grabbed the old lady's hand. She didn't like anyone saying bad things about her sister, not even this grandma.
"Okay, okay, grandma knows. I won't be so rude to your sister anymore. The unpleasantness we had before is over now."
The old lady came to her senses. She had been to the gates of hell and almost lost her life. If it weren't for the sisters' help, how would she have had the chance to show them her displeasure?
"I knew grandma was the best! I'll go get her discharged from the hospital!"
"I'll go with you."
The two sisters went to handle the formalities. The 80 yuan deposit paid by Ye Wei had been used up, so Ye Jin paid an additional 38.6 yuan, and only then did the formalities be completed.
Ye Wei put all the receipts in her pockets, patted them vigorously, and said to her sister with a smile: "Grandma told me to take these receipts to her to exchange for money."
Ye Jin just smiled and said nothing. The two of them came to the ward again, and one of them supported the old lady on the left and the other on the right, and took her out of the hospital.
Ye Jin hired a tricycle and waited outside. The two sisters helped the old lady get on the tricycle and quickly returned to the old lady's home.
When the old lady left, the doors and windows of the house were not closed. Now the yard and the gate are locked, and the windows are closed. Needless to say, it must have been done by the sisters.
The old lady invited them into the house and sat down, her eyes full of tenderness.
As soon as Ye Wei entered the house, she quickly took a rag and cleaned the house. Ye Jin also swept the floor and went to fetch water from the well and boiled a pot of water.
The two sisters were both good at work and quickly cleaned the house.
The old lady looked at the two busy figures and thought about her previous persistence.
How could two such good sisters approach her with a purpose?
The old lady finally came to terms with it and felt completely relieved.
The two sisters cleaned the house and went to buy groceries and cook.
The three of them gathered together and had a lively meal.
The old lady didn't go back to the house to get the money, so Ye Wei took the receipt and put it on the table.
She was no longer hinting, but making it clear.
The old lady's hospitalization was paid for by her sister, and she must get it back.
If she earned the money herself, she would spend it and wouldn't feel bad about it, but she felt bad for her sister.
"To tell you the truth, I, an old man, have no money."
The old lady sighed heavily and said helplessly.
"No money? What should I do?"
Ye Wei was so anxious that tears came out of her eyes. She turned her head to peek at her sister. She had agreed with her sister before that she would give the medical expenses to her sister once the old lady was hospitalized. What was going on now?
