The two aunts worked together to pull Wang Fengqin out. She rubbed her aching body and looked at the messy temporary operating room in the clinic with a grim face.
"This little bitch is so bold! If I catch her, I'll skin her alive!"
"You still have time to think about this? Your daughter's ulcerated cornea has been cut in half. If she doesn't get a new cornea replaced, her eye is likely to rot!"
Doctor Liu walked up to Wang Fengqin and naturally put his arms around her plump waist, but there was a hint of disgust in his eyes.
"Old Liu, what should we do now?"
Wang Fengqin took a deep breath, suppressed all her emotions, and leaned her strong body into Doctor Liu's arms. The skinny Doctor Liu immediately took a step back with an unstable center of balance.
"There are only two options right now. First, find a new cornea for Zhang Duo. Second, I'll disinfect her eyes and replace the damaged one."
"Where can I find a new cornea in such a short time?"
“Others will definitely not be willing to do so unless you donate it yourself.”
Wang Fengqin was so frightened that she trembled. She didn't want to donate her corneas to her daughter and become half blind.
"If I use the second method, is there any chance my daughter will regain her sight?"
Wang Fengqin was still a little worried, and at the same time she hated Ye Jin even more. If this little bitch hadn't escaped halfway, would her daughter have to suffer this?
"As long as we can find a new cornea to replace it within a month."
"What if we can't find it?"
"Then there's nothing we can do."
Wang Fengqin compromised silently, and Dr. Liu raised the corner of his mouth and smiled, as if he had already expected her choice.
…
Ye Jin twisted her ankle just after jumping off the windowsill, and with the anesthetic, her body fell uncontrollably to the ground.
When she thought she was going to fall head over heels, two arms as strong as steel firmly supported her lower back and straightened her body.
Ye Jin was about to say thank you when she turned around and saw the red mole on the right ear of the young man in black clothes and black pants. He had a hunting rifle slung across his chest and two dead rabbits hanging on his neck, one on each side.
"Is it you?"
After a brief look at each other, they asked at the same time.
"Do you know me?"
Ye Jin was very surprised. She searched all her memories but had no impression of it.
Logically speaking, the man in front of him has such an outstanding appearance and a strong and sturdy body. He would definitely leave an impression after seeing him once.
"Do you remember me?"
Gu Yan asked in surprise, but felt a little disappointed after hearing Ye Jin's answer.
"I don't remember, did we know each other before?"
Gu Yan stared at her face for a long time. She had an oval face, willow-shaped eyebrows, big eyes with long eyelashes, a small nose and a small mouth. She looked beautiful no matter how you looked at her. But she just didn't remember him.
"I don't know him."
Gu Yan shook her head and said these three words with difficulty. There was doubt and honesty in her eyes. She was definitely not pretending. She really didn't remember him.
"Oh no, they're catching up!"
Two ferocious-looking men strode towards her.
Ye Jin didn't bother to talk to Gu Yan, turned around and ran into the woods.
"Who are they? Why are they chasing you?"
Gu Yan's eyes flashed, and the muscles in his arms bulged, indicating that he had entered a combat state.
"They are not good people. If they see you and me together, they will definitely cause trouble for you. Come run with me!"
In a hurry, Ye Jin grabbed Gu Yan's arm, but she pulled it but failed. Gu Yan grinned and suddenly found it interesting. He took a step and ran with her.
Gu Yan asked after running just a few steps.
"Where are you going?"
"East, I'm going to grandma's house!"
Ye Jin pointed in a direction, and Gu Yan, like a wound-up motor, pulled her and ran wildly towards the east.
"Okay, let's go!"
After running for a while, the anesthetic took effect and Ye Jin's whole body became weak. His legs felt like they were filled with lead and he even had difficulty walking, let alone running.
Gu Yan picked her up without saying a word and said, "Sorry for the offense. The people behind us are chasing us closely. You can't do this!"
Gu Yan ran wildly for half an hour and stopped in front of a small courtyard under Ye Jin's command.
The yard was shabby, but very clean, and there were many fresh vegetables planted in the open space at the entrance.
Not long after my mother passed away, my father married Wang Fengqin despite my grandmother's opposition. My grandmother was so angry that she moved back to the old house in Zhangjia Village and cut off contact with my father's family. She only brought back some things from time to time to secretly visit Ye Jin.
Bursts of coughing were heard in the room, and Ye Jin's heart was gripped with anxiety.
"Grandma, I'm back!"
Ye Jin shouted at the door, and the old lady with a cane ran out of the house tremblingly.
"Jinjin, my precious granddaughter! You finally come back to see grandma."
Grandma narrowed her eyes and looked at the young man holding Jinjin. Ye Jin's face turned red with shame. She struggled to jump down, but Gu Yan used some force on his hands to prevent her from leaving.
"Young man, you are in good health, but you can't bully my precious granddaughter. This girl's leg must be injured. Hurry and take her to the room to rest."
Gu Yan nodded, and under his grandmother's instructions, he put Ye Jin on the bed.
The anesthetic took effect as soon as Ye Jin touched the bed, and she fell into a deep sleep.
I don’t know how much time has passed. When Ye Jin opened his eyes again, it was dark all around.
"ah--"
The fear of going blind came over her, and Ye Jin screamed in fright.
"Jinjin, are you having a nightmare again? Are you thinking about your mother again?"
