Chapter 3 Returning to the village and exposing the evil woman's true face

The next morning, despite her grandmother's repeated requests, Ye Jin insisted on leaving.

Grandma stood at the entrance of the village, wiping her tears as she watched her leave: "Jinjin, if that evil woman dares to bully you, you must come back to find me!"

Ye Jin nodded heavily, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes as she turned and left.

As soon as she entered the village, she seemed to have her own spotlight, and the villagers working in the fields all looked up at the same time.

"You have the nerve to come back after hurting your sister like this?"

A rotten cabbage was thrown at her, and Ye Jin dodged it by turning her head. Her cold gaze swept across the face of Aunt Wang, who was leading the trouble. Aunt Wang's eyes flickered, and she didn't dare to look her in the eye.

"Your mother treats you so well, is what you are doing a human thing?"

A rotten egg was thrown at her, and Ye Jin stretched out her right hand to catch it steadily. Then a broken straw sandal whistled towards her face.

"We don't have such ungrateful bastards in Yejia Village!"

The crowd was excited and moved closer step by step. More and more things were thrown at them. Ye Jin aimed in a direction and threw the rotten eggs out accurately.

With a crisp sound, the rotten egg exploded on Aunt Wang's face.

"Have you said enough? If you have, let me say a few words!"

Ye Jin raised her voice amid everyone's astonished looks.

"With so many elders present, how could a junior like you have the right to act rashly?"

Aunt Wang was afraid that Ye Jin would reveal the truth, so she immediately spoke up to stop him.

"This is Yejia Village! It's not your turn as an outsider to interrupt me when I want to speak. You're so afraid of me speaking because you're Wang Fengqin's distant cousin!"

Ye Jin's eyes flashed, and Aunt Wang trembled with fear.

The villagers who were about to speak up to stop her were attracted by Ye Jin's words and waited for her next words with great interest.

"My eldest sister Zhang Duo only has one damaged cornea. That cornea still has some weak vision, so she won't become blind even if she doesn't replace it."

"I'm still so young, and I'm giving her my cornea. I have no education and no job. How am I going to make a living in the future?"

Ye Jin's eyes swept across everyone's faces calmly, and those who were seen by her lowered their heads uncomfortably.

"If it were you, who would be willing to donate their cornea to someone who is not related to you by blood?"

Ye Jin's voice became louder and louder, and every word she said seemed to be torturing their souls. The people who had just arrogantly questioned her were now completely silent.

Aunt Wang saw Ye Jin's attempt to change the subject, and everyone else agreed with her. She spat and said loudly, "Bah! You little heartless thing! Your mother and sister treat you so well, they treat you like their own daughter."

You agreed to it, but then you changed your mind right after the operation, causing your sister to become completely blind in one eye. Is that something a human being would do?"

The villagers seemed to have just woken up from a dream. No matter what, what Ye Jin did was not right. How could he go back on his word at the last minute?

"I agreed? When did I agree? Why should I agree? Besides, even if I ran away, weren't Wang Fengqin and her two brothers there? She's her own precious daughter, why wouldn't she give her cornea to Zhang Duo?"

Ye Jin looked over with a knife-like gaze, and Aunt Wang looked as if she was being roasted in hot oil.

"You're young, and your cornea is in good condition, so it must be you who gets the transplant!"

"Oh, now you know I'm young? I'm only 18. Why should I become blind for others? Besides, what's the difference between me being blind in one eye and Zhang Duo being blind in one eye? Why can't I blind her?"

Aunt Wang was choked by Ye Jin and was speechless. It took her a long time before she managed to say something.

"Your sister is in technical secondary school. She has a bright future. You are uneducated, so what do you need eyes for?"

"Hahaha, hahaha, what do I need eyes for? I can do whatever I want with my own eyes! You're still blind, why don't you dig out both of your corneas and give them to Zhang Duo?"

Ye Jin almost laughed to tears when she heard such righteous words, and many villagers also laughed along.

“You, you, you…”

Aunt Wang was speechless and was about to be defeated. Wang Fengqin, who was originally standing in the crowd watching the fight, squeezed out.

"My daughter, you are back. You didn't know that you ran away from home yesterday and scared me."

Wang Fengqin enthusiastically took Ye Jin's arm and pulled her back.

"Really? Didn't you bring your two brothers to arrest me yesterday? You even wanted to put me on the operating table and forcibly dig out my cornea. What? It's only been a day, and Mom has forgotten everything?"

As soon as Ye Jin said this, the villagers pricked up their ears and became extremely interested.

"What's the connection? You suddenly woke up from the anesthesia during the operation. I was worried something might happen to you, so I thought of pulling you back for a checkup. But you didn't listen to anything I said and just kept running forward. Are you possessed by a demon?"

Wang Fengqin asked in feigned surprise. Ye Jin has always had a bad reputation in the village, and Wang Fengqin contributed greatly to this.

"Yes, I was possessed by an evil spirit. That's why I was sleeping at home perfectly fine, and the moment I opened my eyes, I found myself lying in the village clinic. My dear mother, could you please explain this to me?"

Ye Jin fought back without giving in. Wang Fengqin was horrified. The villagers stared at her curiously as if they had discovered a new continent.

"This girl has been acting strangely these past few days. She might be sick again. She's talking nonsense, so don't take it to heart."

Wang Fengqin held Ye Jin's arm tightly, but Ye Jin pushed her away.

"Let me go. I'm making this clear today: I won't donate my corneas! If I ever lose a cornea, you uncles and aunts, please help me!"
