Lang and Xiaoxiao, fresh out of school, were eager to board the train home. Still haunted by their previous encounter with human traffickers, they decided to travel light for safety, taking nothing more than their children.

During this time, Lu Jianguo spoke first, "Gu Feng, why don't you bring your family over on New Year's Eve? Our two families can celebrate together, and it will be more lively this way."

On that special New Year's Eve, the Gu family, filled with joy and anticipation, eagerly headed to the Lu family early in the morning. They were dressed in their finest attire, their faces beaming with festive joy, and they carried all sorts of food and gifts, as if to incorporate all the blessings of the year into this sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner.
As soon as we arrived at the Lu family's house, everyone bustled into action. The kitchen was filled with fragrant aromas, and the symphony of pots and pans echoed. Some washed and cut vegetables with expert skill; others tossed and scrambled, their cooking prowess exquisite; others made dumplings and pastries, each showcasing their unique talents. Children played nearby, occasionally darting over to curiously observe the adults busy at work, only to run away with a smile.
The living room was also busy. The men were busy arranging the tables and chairs, while the women were meticulously setting the dining table, placing each exquisite piece of tableware neatly. The elderly sat on the sofa, watching their children and grandchildren busy at work, their eyes filled with satisfaction and happiness.
The whole house was filled with laughter and joy. Everyone was preparing this meaningful New Year's Eve dinner with great care, hoping to bring their family a wonderful and unforgettable night.
After dinner, Gu Feng and his friends got up and went out to play. The child was taken care of by the elders at home. They came to the place where they had agreed to meet before, but they waited and waited but did not see Liangzi, which made Gu Feng a little worried.
Liangzi ate a little bit by himself and went out. He thought he should arrive early so as not to keep a lot of people waiting for him. However, things did not go as he wished and everyone had to wait for him in the end. When Liangzi rushed over, everyone was waiting anxiously at the door.
